These are backups who aren't gonna impede us drafting better, younger guys, the opinions adding up their contracts are kinda farcical bc they're both cheap and not a hindrance to signing anyone else important Also the injury labels for these depth guys seem a little overstated? They didn't blow out or tear anything major, these are things guys recover from all the time. I'm just having fun with the overanalysis of guys who probably won't be here past next year -

Neither costs a lot and both provide depth and experience, anger over this makes you a douche -
The Free Agent Money is about 1/3 of what it has been

One year deals might be a thing for guys wanting to bet on themselves to cash in next year. For me, that gives me hope for someone like Shaq Griffin, William Jackson, or Anthony Harris. -
Predictions for FA... then draft. By position
ImaginaryKev replied to musicman's topic in Carolina Panthers
I only decided to draft so many safeties bc this defense plays a ton of cover 3 and Burris can be upgraded and might be a cap cut next off-season anyway. Plus, I've been wanting to improve the coverage here at that position for a while. Figured it couldn't hurt. -

I'd like Jayon Brown, Shaq Griffin, and anyone at Guard with some experience and is passable as a starter. Not sure how much Kevin Zeitler will cost. OJ Howard might be cut, give him a look, or whatever. TE is not high on my priority list though I understand all opinions on this. Did this on PFF a few minutes ago: I went by their draft BPA with the thought just to improve the team overall and a lot of our needs coincided with those positions. Didn't get a WR, I figure that will be covered by FA and maybe UFA or young players on the roster already. -
Jayon Brown, LB Shaq Griffin, CB A guard, maybe that Zietler guy who the Giants just cut.

I love some of the draft prospects they suggested for us, particularly Ben Cleveland, the Penn State TE, and Andre Cisco

He might miss most of the year and Schwartz had a back injury and there's Twitter chatter he might retire. Might be best to wait and see if we can sign cheap at a later date and proceed with drafting O Line as planned.

Panthers awarded two comp picks for the draft

If you look between rounds 4 and 6 that's a ton of room to find interior offensive lineman. Yeah, this thing is getting fixed this year. -

What does Moton tag mean for Curtis Samuel?
ImaginaryKev replied to micnificent28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Upside to Samuel leaving is more volume for DJ Moore who would be better with those short passes, reverses, and even a few carries (he's simply better after the catch). Might be the best thing overall despite my want to keep Curt since everyone on Twitter with a team need at WR seems to want him. They even want him here in Boston. I'd love to keep Samuel with plans to let Robby go after next year but WR talent enters the draft every year and it might be smart to start planning for a DJ extension next year if he makes the expected jump he's primed for with more targets. -

Yeah the team didn't know how to use him -

Sign one of them back

Next year is the right time to extend Moton and DJ Moore, he's going to be better with an actual QB
-
Franchise his now and pay him next year when he plays great again and the cap rises. This guy shouldn't be going anywhere. They can still sign Samuel and add a starting corner and LB.

NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance

He's fourth rated in my basement mock draft but go ahead
