I was reading somewhere (I'll try to find the link) that his injury involves nerve damage, numbness, and could possibly recur. That just seems radioactive to me, wouldn't touch him in this first but hope he recovers and pans out bc his talent is thru the roof
-
Hot take (maybe) Caleb Farley would be the first defensive player drafted if his back weren't jacked up and he played a few games this past season
-
Lol i mean I'm not a hater, just got some concerns. Sanchez was the guy I remember Pete Caroll not supporting him entering the draft bc of lack of starts and that's why I thought of him.
-
Sanchez comp is disaster scenario, not a prediction.

I think if we drafted Fields he'd win people over here quickly and it wouldn't be quite the same as Cam despite the usual suspects lurking. And as for Lance, i think physically he's Steve McNair but the lack of playing time is a huge red flag. I don't doubt he's smart and high character, the inexperience just feels like a deal breaker.

There's not much to watch, he barely threw the ball in college lol I get that teams are thirsty for QBs with movement skills these days buy y I k e s. I don't think you can justify drafting that guy top ten bc he's barely played and his accuracy is bad. That just seems like Mark Sanchez waiting to happen.
-
Trey Lance hype seems crazy to me, dude has like 300 college pass attempts despite the great tools and isn't accurate, would not touch him in the first

Lots of folks can't handle adult conversations and melt down at the mention of race, most of the thread was cordial tho. I'm checking out before it goes downhill.

I understand these as real issues but the reason I'm questioning the sources is because people are saying "there's QUESTIONS" then we wonder what they are folks are like "I don't wanna get into it" lol Just seems weird, is all. I don't think he's perfect but he tested well and he outplayed Trevor Lawrence last time they faced off, you'd think the types who gravitate towards being clutch and having football intangibles would make more a fuss over his drop down boards and back him as a possible number 2 pick. Just feels weird. I'm interested to see if he pans out just because his pre-draft has been so strange.

Wow touchy

Gottdamn, Verge coming in HOT with the football takes, keep it up

Mac Jones having a DUI seems like it'd be scrutinized more Edit: I'm not holding it against him, kids make mistakes and learn from em

No idea how you gathered that from what I posted People can ask the question, "Why is this dude who was right behind Trevor Lawrence his entire college career and and outplayed him at points now suddenly mysteriously falling down every popular draft board, overtaken by a BYU QB, and suddenly getting compared to regrettable busts like EJ Manuel?" I mean we already know OSUs offense does nothing for QBs being projected to the pros but sheesh. That's weird to a lot of folks and people are curious why. That's not playing the dreaded race card, it's a fair question.

"Processing speed" and vague work ethic questions seem to fit the bill of black quarterback stereotypes
-
Yeah but he's clearly better than the guy who beat him out
-
People are just hating on this kid bc it's popular at this point
-
How is a guy who's falling down everyone's draft boards and was overtaken by a one year wonder at BYU overhyped? Seems like a strange description
-
Would be pretty ballsy to draft Horn 1 and Grant 2, not sure how I'd feel about it
-
Interesting if he falls out of the first. He's a shrunken AJ Brown, upgrade at slot WR and can play outside too. Bpa sorta guy

Looks like Sewell won't make it past MIA...

Sewell gonna be the pick and Thomas Davis is gonna let him wear 58 -
Joe Person on Panthers plans for #8 pick

I'm flexible on the first pick but I'd be bummed if they didn't come away with multiple offensive lineman in this draft. -

The best move imo is drafting Sewell if he's there, if not trade down. Wasn't expecting corner to be the move if they did but if they were to get enough picks back I'd be on board with a lot. -

Even if Chase doesn't fall, WR should be on the radar. This is a good slot WR/CB draft and the Panthers need both Sewell is the ideal fit, bc he's a premier player at a position you need, but Cincinnati is a major hurdle and I still think it's likely he goes there so it helps to plan if he isn't there

It's short sigthed at best. Plus Chase gives you a premier player at a valuable position on a rookie contract so you can let Robby go in Free Agency if he balls out and pay DJ Moore.
