I swear ppl can't spot talent -

If you wanna QB like Matt Ryan or Derek Carr, by all means, you have a right to have low standards and be boring, but if you want a good QB to compete with good teams you'll pass on this draft class -

Don't settle at QB. Just look at the AFC qbs. Guys like Pickett can't compete with them. -

Panthers need to wait a year is all I'm saying -

Pat Mahomes, Josh Allen, Watson, Herbert are all guys who were drafted outside the number one pick. But they're all WAY more talented than anyone this year. There's no reason to force this bc Pickett and Willis are not on their level by any means. I don't care what Pickett did at Pitt, he absolutely is an NFL player and maybe a starter but if yall want to win an actual Super Bowl you don't wanna settle for a guy who's a less talented Derek Carr. That's just foolish. Willis is more risky than Trey Lance and that guy might not even be good. -

That's total homerism from the Pitt perspective. Plus, their situation is completely different than ours. They have a solid foundation with established players. We need talent and a QB with talent who can elevate the players around him. We should wait and organically draft a guy the way AFC teams have. There's no need to rush this poo -

And yeah, Stroud, Alabama QB, Boston QB, plus wildcard guys are better than anyone this year -

Oh for sure. I acknowledge this and I'm prepared to deal with it. But the beat move is to trade down and add more talent or draft a great non qb prospect at 6 and wait til Stroud or Boston College QB are ready next year. I get it that they'd try and force a QB a year early. -

Trading down and adding talent at OL, taking advantage of this LB/edge class, and getting better overall is the best move if we're serious about winning and being a good team. The half measures and short cuts got us Sam Darnold, there's no reason to draft a guy LESS talented than him. Pickett definitely is, and Willis is more dangerous than Trey Lance. I just feel like we need to understand this. -

What I think is best is to take Cross at 6 or trade down, maybe twice, and add talent at OL, LB, and Edge. Build up the roster to actually win in a few years. Matt Rhule signed a 7 year contract and we knew we were bad fr the start. Fugging act like it. -

Oh for sure. I'm not under any impression that what I want to happen will happen. If we draft either I'm prepared to rationalize it. -
Can we talk about Fitterer and the off-season so far
ImaginaryKev replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah last year there were clearly better options in free agency, the guy who signed with the Ravens and the guy who signed with LA. When they signed Irvin and Pat E I was thinking they were there to be veteran backups for a young roster, not starters. Just blew my mind bc the defensive free agents actually all made sense. -

Wouldn't draft him ahead of Mac Jones or Matt Ryan. Is good at football but had a limited ceiling, much like Derek Carr. If you're picking a guy at 6 you want a guy more talented who doesn't need gloves to grip the ball. There is absolutely NO need to talk yourself into an average prospect like him simply bc you're desperate for a winner and unwilling to stomach a rebuild. If you wanna trade down and draft him, that's a different conversation, but hes not worth the 6th overall pick and neither is Willis. -

All the QBs in this draft are half measures and guys Pete Carroll would draft, no thank you. Wait til next year when the talent is actually good. I'm begging yall to aim higher -

The top four picks from last year all are talented dudes, even with Horn getting hurt and Marshall taking his lumps. BC is gonna be a starter and I think he'll be okay, and im very glad Tremble got the playing time he did last year, he looks like a solid prospect and starter too, despite Ian's contract. -

Really hoping he trades down from 6 like last year and gets the freedom to add talent to this roster. I'm pretty happy with his draft picks overall and the free agent signings. The defensive ones were solid last year, too, and the idea of making sure you're good at corner is sound so i dig being aggressive at that position. It also looks like someone, probably him, realized the O Line guys we went after last year aren't good enough and made it a point to correct that, at least on paper. I'm still willing to wait on the QB for next year bc he seems super competent and has a plan for how the team needs to look. -
It's gonna be wild when next off-season the Commanders cut Curtis Samuel for contract money reasons (don't tell me you think he's playing that thing out up there) and he comes back here and DJ and Curtis are the starters again....but with CJ Stroud or someone at QB and as better players.

I would've remained a fan and been excited about this. People compartmentalize and rationalize war crimes when they vote and I'd have found a way to make excuses for a sex pest on my sports team. Thankfully we don't have to do that now.

Bozeman is also a very high character dude and he and his wife are very active in the community. A plus signing.

Thank God this moves Pat to a backup role where he belongs. We need to enjoy this serotonin right now, we deserve it
