2021 Senior Bowl Day 1: Five stars from practice
ImaginaryKev replied to Icege's topic in Carolina Panthers
Interior offensive lineman don't need to be big names to be good in the NFL, there's a lot of potential starters at the Senior Bowl. I knew Humphrey would be hyped here bc he went to a big time program and has a cool name but thankfully you can find good players on the line all throughout the draft. Dickerson is always injured so that should be a big red flag, esp if you complain about Greg Little not being able to stay healthy. -
Omg the objections to this potential trade are comical at this point, sheesh

Hmmmmmmmm

So now a second round pick is the deal breaker? Omg this is incredible
-
Two firsts and a corner for a star QB is a fleece
-
In that scenario we keep the star RB and two 1000 yard WRs, plus our young stars on defense who proved they have huge upside and have bright futures. Offensive lineman can be found all throughout the draft and FA, same with defensive players. Get a grip, yall. In that scenario we even get draft picks in return to help flexibility for draft day trades! What isn't clicking here? Yall just don't wanna take risks.

This isn't true at all
-
IMAGINE a negotiation scenario between David Tepper and Cal fugging McNair. Tepper might fleece him for Watson for 2 firsts and Donte Jackson.
-
Our new GM JUST came from a franchise that's team building MO is finding GEMS in rounds outside the first. I know this is uncharted water for yall bc of Hurney but come on, grow some balls lol

This deal is probably best case scenario imaginable and folks are scared to do it lol Just lol the fear

Deshaun WATSON Officially Requests Trade from Texans

Yeah, if us random internet people can see that HC hire was a desperation move with no hopes of working, NFL teams and FOs are probably chomping at the bit to lowball them -

Yeah but they just made a questionable head coach hire so they might not be done making mistakes -

The Texans have screwed this EVERY step of the way. I doubt they'll be able to get what they could for a franchise QB considering they've proven they aren't a functional franchise. At this point it seems like a longshot -

What makes anyone think McNair is even capable of getting good value in return for Deshaun? Look at how they've handled this situation so far. Would it shock absolutely ANYONE if this franchise messes this up further and gets waayyy less than adequate value that a franchise QB would normally demand? If I'm the Panthers I'm absolutely taking a shot bc recent history suggests the Texans can't do anything right and we could possibly get him for less than he's worth. -

I mean if we miss out on him to NYJets or Miami but still find a way to keep all our young guys and find a QB going forward like the original off-season plan suggests, I'm fine with that. We can work with that. But man, if Hurney giving a big RB contract is the one thing that kept us from getting the young QB2 in the entire NFL, that's just some chef's kiss poo right there. -

My bad. Doesn't really change the point though, we found a way to produce at the position with cheap options and he was hurt all year, proving that RB is super volatile. I also said CMC was special and the best in the game. Not underselling him, just wondering if that investment might impede an opportunity to grab a franchise QB. Thats a fair question. -

You can only hope they don't wanna trade him within the AFC -

He's an amazing player but it was too early The fact that it might be the impediment to landing a top 3 QB is just .....lol, Hurney -

The salary cap hit in trading CMC is a real issue and oddly enough this situation is more proof why you don't pay RBs. -

This. We literally replaced about 80% of his production with a cheap free agent. Not a knock on CMC, he's absolutely the best RB in football. The position itself is just replaceable. The only players we should be hesitant to part with are DJ, bc he's super young and cheap atm and Deshaun would need someone to throw to, and Burns, bc he's also super young and cheap atm somebody has to play defense and he's special at a premium position. Everyone else should be on the table. -

Cmc is probably the fan fave on the roster, that's gonna factor into a lot of people's opinion on whether he can be included in the deal, despite his playing a devalued position. He's a special RB but you trade that for a special QB any day. I'd prefer to keep him, DJ, and Burns and trade the unknowns, like first rounders which could potentially bust, but it's understandable if Houston wants him since he's our beat dude.
