Steve Smith breaks down Curtis Samuel…
Darvinsun replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
I don't think people credit Cam for the win but he was talked about more than the actual win. His 1st game back of course and the energy that I guess you did see when Darnold was the Qb. He contributed to the win but everyone knows that it was a team win. Cam just gave them the boost and it wasn't even as much as him playing. Just really his presence on the sideline. I mean it is what it is and if you want to be talked about individually bring it every week make your teammates better you will get some clout. As for Smith, great player but when he talks about Cam to me he seems sour toward him in some ways. -
Deangelo Williams and Gary Barnidge on Cam and yesterday's game

Interception stats not a very good thing to look at bc stats don't tell the whole story, wr tipped the ball. If it's tipped at the line. I get Cam made mistakes throwing especially with the highs, but for the most part his throws were good and some just amazing. What he lacks in one area he can make up in another. He is a rhythm passes so when he is on he is on and when he is not well its bad. -

It has been frown upon. When it comes to black qbs they always want to put running first. How many of those were looked at as great qbs? Just like you said Cam is not Brees, Brady. It is frown upon. Half of the time people don't even count the running touchdowns. Don't act like it does not exist bc it does. Especially when it comes to trying to measure what Cam does. It is why there is just now an emergence of duel qbs. Everyone seemed to think that the traditional dropback passer was the only way to really succeed as a qb. Those guys you mention were outliers in talking heads minds. Now you can succeed playing both styles. Half of the young qbs now are mobile. -
WFT next to be steamrolled, by your New Carolina Panthers.

I haven't watched an NFL game this yr, but I can honestly say this. It is the panthers game to loose. Ron was Cam coach for many yes but he coached majority of the time scared of Cam. I really don't think he knows Cam as much as u guys think. Ron not the genius some of you think he is. Some of his decisions were just awful. -

Man why can't some people appreciate different styles of football. Cam is great. No he didn't sit back in the pocket like Brady or Brees, or Manning. He is closer to Rodgers than any of the styles of 2000's. If Brady could run he would, and so would manning but they couldn't plus they were from a different Era where being dual was frown upon and really considered a black thing. Cam completely transition that from a negative narrative. If Cam had what Brady possessed in coaching there is no telling how great he could have been. Even though playing for this dysfunctional franchise he was still able to make something out of nothing. Yea Brady is great, Brees, Manning all great. Cam is Cam. He is special, one of a kind. Can you say that about the others! And no this is not a question. -

De Angelo wasn't part of 2015. His popularity dwindled with Cam being there. To me D'Angelo was correct with his assessment as far as Cam not being 2015 what I didn't like was the tone and the comment of not making playoffs bc it is in their reach they play the very people who are fighting for the spit They control their own destiny pretty much. The other guy who I barely remember is a hater. Talking about people forgetting about PJ and Cmc the other contributors. No one has forgotten them, but this was a assessment of the effect Cam had on the team not who gave the most on the field. He is indeed a hater. He thought he was better than what he was and should have gotten more credit but now sitting in a roller chair like me ..lol -
I semi agree. Easing him in until he learns the playbook and keeping the dual threat until then. At the same time you need to know if his shoulder can last for next yr, but right now they not looking for next yr they want to win now! So I guess they are thinking throw him in. He is a vet and athletic should be able to adapt. Still may see PJ you never know.

Opinions on who is at fault for Cam's departure??
Darvinsun replied to WOW!!'s topic in Carolina Panthers
Nobody knows what Cam has not even Cam. The first 3 games pre covid he almost went 4-0. That terrible 4th and 1 call by the coordinator cost them that game. Patriots receiving core was worse than the 2015 panthers. It would be a big risk for a team to take Cam on with the unknown. Knowing injuries and age. No one was going to sign him until being desperate. Cam knows this and that's why he is grateful and not insulted. Which is true the fist 4 games or the rest of the season? -

No it was wasn’t the Cam of old but they were winning with that arm and those legs. He looked more like an average thrower with reduced arm strength in airing it out. He proved that he could when games against tough opponents and to me that's good! Time was something he was not given. Coaches did not know him and rathered start fresh. I believe was the case along with the baggage of being Cam newton's coach on a first yr nfl coach might have been too much for the new coaching staff. Look at Ron he didn't even consider Cam in Washington. -
I did and only reason I'm starting back watching football is Cam! Cam was a good thing and a bad thing for me. I grew up watching football and didn't miss Saturdays or Sundays. When Cam came in I saw a great player who just genuinely loved his job and tried to spread that joy to others infestation! Once he was gone so was I. All the negative stuff I began to see with the NFL and fans was brought to the forefront. And football soured on me. Now I am back on just like Cam and I hope he succeeds, but whether he wins or not. At least he will get the chance to see for himself and I think this is blessing for us all.

The thing is he went to New England played well first 3 games got covid and went downhill. if they had kept and just let him played all unknowns would have been revealed. Maybe Cam was back and if in Carolina not got covid played great and this season you in playoffs. 2. Maybe he stayed played great first half of season and arm strength depleted and now u know u need a QB. Either way you are in much better place than what you are now. Draft picks and cap money are now gone. You could have saved all that. They totally messed this all up, but maybe it was for the betterment of both sides. Humble pie! -
Dang the line is that bad . I haven't watched any football this yr! Geez...

That presser was awesome. I was glad to hear him mention God. He has grown and it shows. Looking at him looks like he has found his true self. Always positive, but now seems wise. I get what he means about exodus. I had stop watching football altogether when Cam was cut by the patriots. Like some said he is my MJ in football. Just so great to watch. Keep pounding!

Fitterer says " We'll have to do something with Sam. "

I was referencing the 2nd try thing. They are not the same. Sam is a back up but expensive. If you can get anything for him that can be on the field more than a back up qb go for it -

Yes back up but not starter. It's all 3 Darnold is not a starter. I just haven't seen anything that warrant 1st rd pick Darnold. He is just meh. -

Difference here is Sam is Sam no illness no injury. He is Sam. College, jets, panthers the same. Cam was proven and deserved his second chance. He was coming back from an injury and they didn't even let him try not even in a preseason game. Sam hasn't earned any chances and has had 3 Cam earned. Oranges to apples. Ditch Sam if possible if not then he is on your team but let him be a last resort. -
Carolina Panthers agree to terms with Cam Newton.
Darvinsun replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
This for me is just to see if he can still play. I hope he balls. Where he plays is not that important to me, but if he plays good a panther he will probably remain. -

Boy you can't fix Sam it's in his genes. I don't know what they saw in him. College was good but NFL is another level. Playing in the SEC counts now days. -

There can only be 1 Superbowl winner. It's a team sport as proven in last SB loss. Rather be in contention than not even on the map. -
Should have kept Cam...Maybe he would not have caught covid and we could have seen if he was still good. If not then you look for a Qb in the draft, or free agency. After how they handled Cam you will get a h no from good Qbs like M. Stafford. They really just added salt to the wound with Darnold. Pitiful.

Line are you crazy Cam and the tight ends masked the sorry right tackle we had in Remmers. Atl revealled the weakness and Broncos out smarted our coaches bc they had no answers for the blitzes...if refs would have given Cam the proper officiating for NFL Qbs the panthers would have been Champs. They neutralized the playing field with no calls and our genius coaches weren't smart enough to adjust.

Watched a college game of his. It was an important game and he blew it with turnovers and that's when I said nope he is not going to be a good NFL qb to many moments of ....
