  1. I remember thinking he could get a lot out of players the first few weeks of 2020. How wrong I was...
  2. The roster is not as bad as our record the last couple years, but how good it is remains to be soon. Players like Ickey developing are great no matter what.
  3. Plenty of teams have shown you don't need a top 3 pick to get a good QB. Losing out means our roster is much further away than I hoped and definitely much more than just a QB away. If Wilks can actually turn the team around I'll be excited. There's no guarantee that losing out and drafting a QB top 3 doesn't end up just where we are anyway. We already have two QBs selected at the top of the draft on the roster, lol.
  4. Teddy was our best post-Cam QB, but he still wasn't the answer for this team. He was right about Rhule and practice, though.
  5. I was thinking he'd win a couple more games out of these first few and survive until December, but no point in that. The only risk is an interim HC winning games, which I'm fine with if it comes to that. Would rather have some semblance of momentum and excitement heading into next year...
  6. "Working for that owner" is interesting. I'm surprised people think it'd be bad to work for a dude that gives you a record breaking contract, near full control, and massive job security. Rhule is getting WAY more time than most coaches get when they're this bad and he has a huge amount of roster control (arguably complete)... Tepper doesn't seem to actively meddle outside the superstar QB grabs but even that was tempered... Frankly Tepper picked a terrible coach but wouldn't a prospective coach care more about what leeway he gives to his coaches?
  7. I like to think of Snow as someone that is likely an excellent college coordinator. The games are similar enough and our players good enough it means he can look good sometimes. But he fails to adjust the way the pro teams do and so I classify him as just outside of being a competent coach, heh. I also wonder if this year some of our other coaches really have had a positive impact on the D. But hard for sure to say until we get a better opponent...
  8. It's possible, but I think we still will. To me, that means between 16th and 10thish, btw, which imo does not mean a "great defense." I just think Snow is on the edge of competency and we have some excellent players on D. I still think excellent offenses will absolutely run all over us in the 2nd half of games. We will see because some real challenges do await them.
  9. I think the defense is above average, as it was last year, but it always seems incapable of handling opponents second half adjustments. That combined with awful offense means a lot of losses. It's good enough to keep most games closeish at least in the first half if not a lead for us, despite our bad offense, which means a lot I think.
  10. I'm in the same boat. I definitely though McAdoo and Mayfield would be improvements, as well. Didn't expect greatness, but some level of competency that would make the team competitive throughout the season, and give the players a chance to surprise people. Instead we are talking about the draft the first week in October:/
  11. Awesome content, thanks for putting this together! Haven't had a chance to get through it all but these are quickly becoming one of my favorite things to find on the Huddle every week. Edit: The youth on the OL is going to have some growing pains, but disappointed Elf is falling back to earth (if its somewhat expected). Ickey I thought played better just watching the game and it sounds like you thought so, too. I feel like elite receivers get held often and don't get calls. So, not surprised there. We need to find a way to get DJ involved despite this. Interesting observation on Baker going through his reads too fast. May be due to not trusting the OL to block. I don't understand what we are doing with our RBs, lol.
  12. It'll happen, unfortunately, unless the offense figures something out. Baker will start forcing things to try to make something happen and the INTs will come. Once Rhule can blame a couple losses on Baker he'll make the swap, but it'll only be worse and we will bounce between our 3 QBs like it's 2021.
  13. I think I know more than I know and I know I know more than you!! Your opinion sucks more.
  14. I'm confident the interceptions will come for Baker (career wise he's hot much better than Darnold, lol), but Darnold has no future here and there's no reason to play him now.
  15. Hats off to a really good defensive effort. Also to Shenault, who had 100 yards total on a drive to actually give us a cushion, wow.
  16. he isn't even the only banged up player on the Saints, either oh well, I'm glad to have a win over them regardless
  17. Baker looks so, so bad hahaha. At least a bunch of our dudes on D are showing up
  18. Honestly a lot of our players look indecisive. I'm wondering if its coaching etc. I don't really know what the hell our coaches even do tbqh.
  19. it seems like that sometimes, but I think he also is likely a bit rusty/out of game shape mentally, and I think that can improve
  20. no we are very bad, but the saints are playing a QB with a broken back and aren't particularly good regardless of that.
  21. yes to both of these things - it reminds me a little of how they seem to be obsessed with playing our good players out of position or trying to stretch what they do for some reason. We seem resistant to playing our players to their strengths.
  22. It frequently feels like this team wants to make Anderson into more than a deep threat and it consistently feels like we suffer for it, lol. Not that it is the only issue on offense, mind you, but yeah.
