  1. Holding is Barely called these days. Just is what it is.
  2. Looking a bit like some players and coaches already thinking playoffs like some fans. But it's just a few drives... Still time to adjust.
  3. That drive had nothing to do with the refs. Just good offense.
  4. High powered Washington offense really taking it to this defense...
  5. Just seems to be around the ball on every play he can be.
  6. I have to say the way Rhule gets some of these guys on D to play so far above their previous regular levels does give me hope he's the coach we all want.
  7. True, CMC may just have made the best of a real bad play.
  8. This is where Brady isn't so great. Too cute. You have an incredible short option QB...
  9. He's taken a few bad angles. I don't think he's a terrible player, and being one of our worst on D isn't as bad as it sounds given how good the D is.
  10. Carter is one of the worst players on our D it usually seems, but, I think we hide him well and barring a later round rookie being a steal, I think MLB is an area we can't afford to invest deeply in, so we keep him
  11. Jones is certainly playing well in the scheme but that's what I am seeing too.
  12. Very little impact on Teppers bottom line... Most of those I believe are on the secondary market. Cam was brought back because he was the best QB available and significantly better than what we had in our QB room even before Darnold was basically ruled out for the rest of the year.
  13. Thats fair... I tend to think even a limited practicing Cam gives us a better chance than PJ. But that's my own bias...
  14. Eh I'd add Minnesota to the not great play by the D list... but that was before we got Gilmore and Shaq back which is so huge. The D did give up a 2nd half lead after a TD and couldn't get the stop in OT. But the O played so bad ... So many drops, even DJ dropping everything and had a fumble... Crazy we even had the offense to force OT. I think we might even have won that if we'd gotten the ball first, the last 2 drives on offense were strong.
  15. That is fair, but I'm not too concerned with that because our option is a backup that is very conservative with the ball and honestly doesn't seem to be trying difficult throws anyway, or our future starter with a bit over a week of practice. I get that isn't a great set of options, but I think that it is also bad to put your backup onto the field without giving him many first team snaps, if you know he's gonna play... yet every snap PJ gets with the first team is one Cam can't get... a bit of a tough situation.
  16. Some fans seem to want him on the field as little as possible... He gives us the best chance to move the ball and score, imo. I get he will only have a week of practice but I just think what he offers is so much more than PJ, it's worth it, especially given we are turning into a run first team.
  17. we've gone from "he's not a great QB and he can't win a superbowl" to "he's not a hof qb". these are not the same things...
  18. thing is, we're gonna need some long TD drives out of this offense. the only one we had was a pass interference penalty on a Cam Newton throw. Cam also got the ball in the end zone in our other two short TD drives. imo, Cam is just a better option all around if he has the reps and has the offense down even to a basic level. for sure, PJ was better than Darnold the last few weeks, although PJ's game reminded me a decent amount of the ATL game just with CMC and with Cam to lean on to get the ball in the end zone. I feel like Cam with CMC and they score at least 2 more TDs against Atlanta, lol
  19. I'm glad PJ didn't completely implode like Darnold did, but at some point we have to expect actually good QB play from a starter, heh. PJ completed 1 pass beyond 10 yards (that traveled in the air more than 10 yards), added to his unimpressive interception total, and had lots of errant throws. Fine if he's our back up, but we really need Cam up to speed asap to keep this momentum rolling IMO.
  20. This is your opinion, but I don't think that is true personally. The threat of Cam running also created opportunities for backs because it was hard to account for everyone IMO, especially given Cam's threat to pass. It is hard to evaluate this given how much Stew and Cam's careers (as well as DWill's, and Tolbert's) overlapped so much, but all we have to go off of is the fact that Cam did score those TDs... I suppose we could look at when Stew and Cam didn't play together, but it was a similar roster as when they did play together (aka I don't think it helps to compare 2010 Stew to some year where it was Stew + Cam later on). In 2014, Stew played a couple games without Cam and didn't get a rushing TD, but had 4 on the season with Cam (including playoffs). Cam had 6 on the season. Doesn't really seem like Cam was dropping his TD numbers. edit: to me, this is a similar argument to "well we should discount some of those passing TDs because they could have been rushing TDs", lol. Like... the TDs happened... the QB is how they did... Who cares if some other player could have scored instead...
  21. He has been injured (or had COVID) for what amounts to 3 straight years, lol. The fact he is still at all on these lists is a testament to how productive he was up to 2018. Derek Carr and Ryan Tannehill are above average passers that are not elite QBs because that is all they can bring to the offense, basically. If they had Cam's mobility, they would be elite. Tannehill has been in the league 1 less year but has 50 less TDs than Cam. Carr has about 2 seasons less starts than Cam and has 70 less TDs. Purely from a passing perspective yes they aren't that different. But those are 2 pretty good starting QBs in the NFL from a purely passing perspective. That's the thing tho, that is a major limitation for both.
  22. I think Brandt has always been big on Cam, although I may be mistaken. Honestly I could see us being fringe top 10 right now. We just completely dominated the Cardinals. We previously dominated the Saints. We kept pace with the Cowboys without CMC and with a severely depleted D. Darnold went way off the fuging rails in 5+ games and it cost us. But before that, we looked like legit contenders.
