  1. He gets very weird about popular posters for whatever reason. Appreciate your content as always. Sorry you gotta deal with trolls here.
  2. Tepper seems to get very involved in finding a franchise QB, but we know he let the coaches / scouts have their way with Fields etc
  3. Completely agree that season wasn't on him at all. Watson is among the best QBs in the game. I guess the issue is, given what we are expected to give up and out existing holes and draft capital, would the results here be any different than that season? It just goes to show an exceptional QB alone isn't enough. I personally would do 3 first rounders and 1-2 good players for a franchise QB, but I guess my fear would be that QB forcing his way out of the situation after he's acquired given the shitshow we have. But I assume that's what the meetings are for. Acquiring someone like Watson - who lol is barely older than Kenny Pickett - will allow us to focus all resources on other areas of the team. We just need to make sure OL gets built first if we go that route. I'd rather overcommit to OL and neglect the D if we get Watson. Who knows. We will see.
  4. Rhule is giving some of these guys a chance to live their dream (in some cases he's now done it twice, lol). That is a powerful motivator for loyalty. I'm glad they are able to finally have a shot. I just wish it wasn't coming at the cost of our enjoyment of Panthers football.
  5. What the fug does Tepper see to make him think he should break the bank for fuging Cousins what the fug is going on ahhhhhhh!!!! The fact this was leaked at least tells me a deal is not close to completed
  6. Lol I would out right fire Rhule if cousins was brought in as anything but a cheapish (yeah right) stopgap for a rookie to learn under.
  7. Don't forget PJ "so bad not even the only coaching staff that wants me will play me" Walker! Good thing we have two of three under contract
  8. I'm not saying I expect success next season but either Rhule somehow learned (unlikely but great if true) or Fitt/Tepper have more influence on hires than we expected, which is also overall good since it means they aren't sold on Rhule's complete genius as it has seemed they might be...
  9. Stop making good decisions, you're sucking me back in...
  10. It's really worth noting that Justin fields had 11 fumbles in 2 years with OSU. He averaged roughly a fumble every other game (22 games I think). Pits OL was good this year, yes, where Pickett had many fewer fumbles (3 in 13 games)... The last two years he's also had 10 fumbles in 22 games. So as much as I don't want Pickett it's not because of turnovers. I just don't think he has a high enough ceiling. Decent athleticism and decent arm strength, but that's not good enough imo to lead a franchise. I think his ceiling is a more athletic Derek Carr at best, and at 6 I'd rather do better...
  11. Very few of those QBs played as many years as Pickett tho, and as your fumble percentage indicates it's pretty close on percentage. We are talking one or two fumbles difference over 50 games. Same with overall TOs. Ultimately I think Pickett protects the ball fine... He does make occasional overly aggressive plays that risk turnovers but especially the last 2 years his decision making seems to have improved. I agree he's not a franchise guy but he's nothing like Clausen etc... His throwing motion is so much cleaner and quicker... Honestly I just think his ceiling isn't high enough that he's worth a high first round pick, and his sloppy plain in the rain at the Senior Bowl practices only cemented concerns about his hand size with NFL balls. I've only seen a few highlights of Glass but I'll take a look. Not that I'm any good at evaluating QBs, lol.
  12. Good breakdown, tho I'll note the only reason he's in this discussion is a lot of the concerns you identified with his style of play did change in his final year. His AYA went up to 9.7, he was pushing the ball down field a lot, his turnovers drastically declined (down to an int% on 1.4% of his throws with 9 total on the year). That said I still don't think he's a good investment for us. I just don't think he is a franchise QB... As you point out his big step forward came with an exceptional season from a WR too. He had an OK 2020 but I would have liked to see more from him earlier. He's been compared to a more athletic Derek Carr with a slightly worse arm as a rough approximate of how he could end up in the NFL and I can see that. People (not saying you) don't always know or remember that Teddy actually looked different in college in terms of willingness to go deep and in terms of mental toughness and decision making he excelled. However relative to pickett, there were concerns with his frame/build and arm strength. Pickett has big pluses on that. Minor correction also, Pickett only had 10 fumbles lost total, 5 as a freshman, with only 2 last year. Can't really call them turnovers if they aren't lost. His numbers in both total fumbles and fumbles lost were not really very different from many other prospects the last few years.
  13. Draft grades don't always predict player success... But if Pickett ends up having a career like Matt Ryan I suspect he'll go down as a good pick for whomever takes him.
  14. I believe Pickett has a better arm (in terms of strength) than Jones. But no, Rhule won't develop any kind of good offense around anyone. Any QB we take will probably look atrocious. Unless McAdoo manages to work some magic, which I doubt he will. darnold being on the roster and liking him more than Jones/Fields or something dumb, probably. But Pickett isn't really like Mac Jones as a prospect, I don't think. Maybe I'm wrong... Pickett seems significantly more mobile and athletic than Mac Jones. He's not nearly as mobile as Malik Willis but he's not gonna get called a statue like Jones occasionally did. I still think his ceiling isn't likely to be very high tho and I'd rather gamble on a first round QB than go with something safe. Ofc, Fields was the player to do that with annndd...
  15. This isn't accurate. I don't think he is a top 10 pick. But based on people that judge QBs far better than I can, he has a first round grade.
  16. Good luck with the job and hope it works out for you. I'll miss your little nuggets but totally understandable. Still looking forward to your general draft content of course.
  17. Picketts line was good, and he had one very, very good receiver... But he looks very good moving around and has imo an underrated arm on this board. I don't hate him in the least. My issue is that I do not trust Rhule to properly evaluate him because of the college connection...
  18. I mean you're right in this post but let's be real, Morgan didn't go to Temple or Baylor so he never had a real shot.
  19. A lot of what I've heard is that Pickett was basically fine and polished, had one bad day, but the hand questions just amplified between having trouble on a rainy day and refusing measurements. Willis improved during practice but he's sooooo raw, especially in reading defenses.
  20. Tbh, drafting a bad qb in the first isn't the death sentence it used to be. More and more teams are willing to move on after a couple years, during which time other aspects of the team can grow too. I'd still rather not draft Pickett at 6 but oh well.
  21. Watch us trade down to get the picks to trade for him lol
  22. Pickett is such a disgustingly fitting Rhule pick. What disturbs me most isn't actually that we might take Pickett it's the obvious reason why - the fuging college connection.
  23. No kidding. I'm worried about just how raw Willis appears to be but apparently he is doing very well at taking to coaching and direction at the Senior Bowl. Given what appears to be a very high ceiling I think he's my preference at 6 if not OT. So we will probably draft Pickett. Or a corner. Can always use more corners.
  24. He actually hasn't been a disaster tho... He had a very bad day 2 in the rain but had a good day 3. I think Willis has more potential, but the Pickett narrative isn't entirely what I've been seeing from media sources like below
