  1. My point was you can't trust fan forums, not that the two were the same.
  2. Claypool and Mooney aren't horrible weapons at all... But they're also not #1s. Of Mooney's 4 100 yard games last year, 2 were with Fields and 2 were with Dalton. 3 of his 4 TDs were with Fields. Claypool had one nice game for the Steelers this year, the rest were ~50 yard affairs for both teams. And he played very few snaps for the Bears, as he was still learning the offense. Claypool started 3 games for the Bears and Mooney 12. And i'd expect Dalton to be a more refined passer than Fields, especially last year...
  3. man dude, people were talking about trading Cam right until 2014 to move up and draft a real QB. I don't give a poo what a fan forum say, lol
  4. If Fields was a veteran like Trubisky or Winston, there would be no question you draft a new QB. But he's a second year player.
  5. I'm not saying they gave Trubisky tons of receiver weapons, I'm saying the team was significantly better. The OL was significantly better. The rushing attack was good, the OL blocked well (half the sacks as they gave up with Fields), and importantly, the defense was incredible. While the Bears did have a good rushing attack this year, that's heavily off of Fields' 7.1 ypc.
  6. Thanks @raleigh-pantherand @Bear Hands! Id known very little of him and not seen him as a mid first round prospect before. Makes a bit more sense given the info you both provided (but still seems more like a non first day prospect).
  7. Trubisky in his first couple years had a much better team around him. He was a better pure passer his first 2 years for sure, yet Fields scored nearly as many TDs this year as Trubisky in his second year and with a similar total yardage, despite the worse team. The Bears OL and D were pretty good that year. And you're making our point btw- the Bears did not move on from Mitch for multiple years.
  8. Didn't see many games from Stanford this year but Tanner McKees stats look less than pedestrian. Anyone that has watched more than highlights know if he oozes potential or something?
  9. "You played some players for a couple quarters in a meaningless game and none of them missed time in the following playoff game but we're firing you anyway" is going to go over very well with folks lol. I mean owners are weird beasts so hey...
  10. Nobody will care if the Chargers win or perform well in the playoffs.
  11. Fields is electric. He also is improving passing wise, or seemed to be by eye. But he's always on the run because that OL can't protect him. They really need OL help badly. Regardless of if they move on(bad idea imo but...) Any young QB will struggle passing behind that line.
  12. All this with practically nothing around him. Well, they have a #2 wr, lol.
  13. Does Ben Johnson have an association there? Tepper has apparently had high interest in him as well.
  14. In a bad year I don't mind wins or losses. You're never gonna get players or coaches to just roll over. So why stress about it? I'm never gonna make 'em tank just by hoping they lose so I don't bother caring.
  15. Haha, I was just being dumb since we were talking about Howells game.
  16. Was in reference to us having a rookie to be excited about right now.
  17. he didn't say his philosophy was to throw all his darts at all the QBs in one draft, lol. They liked Corral more so they drafted him.
  18. Ahh weird way for ESPN to display that.
  19. Actually looking at the standings, I don't think SEA can make the playoffs regardless: https://www.espn.com/nfl/standings/_/view/playoff
  20. Woulda been cool but Baker gonna Baker.
  21. You might be right, but I was reading a bit and the Steelers have basically been scouting him for a long time and were very sold on his impromptu playmaking ability and competitiveness translating to the NFL and they're not wrong. He's had a pretty good 2nd half of the year and his drive vs the Ravens was very impressive.
  22. why would you want a rookie when you can have Sam Darnold winning you games* *QB rating not guaranteed
  23. You can root for a player even if they're not on our team. I like a lot of non-Panthers when they're not playing us.
  24. On the first QB overall, Pickett has actually had some amazing throws the last couple weeks and the team has rallied behind him. Not saying Howell couldn't have done that, but Pittsburgh appears to have made the right QB choice so far.
