Exactly. Arizona has 20 points on 145 yards. Their only long fields resulted in a punt and a FG. The D is getting no help from the special teams and the offense is shooting the D in the foot

A bad defense has no chance when an offense can't function. It was never going to be a good defense but if the offense sucks this bad, we won't win a single game.

I don't mind timeouts on D once you see what a team is lining up with personally, when the clock is stopped

When Young was a rookie I was a lot more accommodating to his mistakes. Even last year, as I gave him a pass and pretended year 2 was a reset. He's been in the league 3 years now.

Not only that, 2 WRs drafted in the first including one taken as the first WR off the board. I'm gonna keep doing what I did last year: give Bryce credit for his good games regardless of how the team goes and I'm gonna hold it against him when he plays poorly. He IS holding the offense back.

This would all be a legitimate grype if the offense been able to score a touchdown before *checks notes* 5 minutes left in the game, lol The defense blows. Bryce has to play better. He got the credit for the wins last year (and near wins that the D lost) so I'm gonna judge him by the same metric. It'd be different if he looked good, hell, if he even looked decent in a losing effort to start the season. Did he even have 100 yards passing going into the 4th???

We have an offense stacked with draft picks and an OL stacked with incredibly good free agents. We have a top 15 back at minimum (imo Chuba is better than that). We have the top WR drafted last year. Yeah they'll all make mistakes. Yes they all look bad sometimes. But Bryce is just not helping his teammates. Even in his good games he would sometimes go through stretches of pretty bad play. At this point I think XL isn't very good, but heck maybe if he bad a different QB throwing to him he wouldn't look so bad this year... Because basically everyone not named Adam Thielen only looks meh with Young behind centre.

To say Bryce isn't exactly killing it... Man... He's so inconsistent he is atrocious. Since coming into the league he is the worst starting QB. Yes he had a decent period at the end of last year but so have countless other busts or mid tier starters. If he doesn't turn it around immediately it'll show last year was a mirage. Our drafts have been going so heavy into the offense the last three years, and our FA has too, it's pathetic where it's at.

The defense was not good by any means but the two units aren't doing each other any favors. I don't think Evero is particularly good and it appears he may be allergic to youth. If it wasn't for the fact we constantly hear about how our drafts/acquisitions are his idea (and then they fail to pan out) I wouldn't hold nearly as much against him as I do, especially because of spending. Fwiw, the offense is atrocious and it starts at the head of the unit, but many of us have also been very down on XL as well.

CJ Stroud also had one of the best rookie years of all time, and yes he had a downward trend last year that should be concerning but isn't cause for benching. BY had a decent stretch of games and then poo the bed. That's it.

Absolutely. It's a mix of things, and it's deserved. Which sucks because outside of their play on the field I like both. But at some point their play needs to reflect team investment. And it isn't.
