  1. Apparently he's a super computer? I dunno man tbh. I think we've seen some good plays and I wouldn't be surprised if he becomes a servicable to good starter. But I think what we gave up we would expect more than that...
  2. How can you say he isn't an NFL qb, argue he doesn't seem like he ever will be, and also say he isn't a bust? Is your stance that he's probably gonna be a bust but it's still too early?
  3. Some nice throws but inability to connect over the top still a limitation. We kept it close for a while but we needed to response to their scores earlier...
  4. I can't imagine our D holding them even most of the game so them spotting us 14 is huge for us to have a chance. Spotting not meant to be disrespectful to what the offense is doing either, damn
  5. They'd been working to trade up to at least 3 for a while. I think the combine made them comfortable there wasn't only 1 person they'd possibly take, but when they realized the compensation for 1 and 3 was so similar they pulled the trigger on 1. I don't think Tepper has as much to do with this as some fans think. Definitely signed off on the pick, and probably his preference too, but I don't know why we as fans are trying to absolve Fitterer and Reich here...
  6. I think this is true, but debate between him and Stroud wasn't "a huge QB vs a tiny QB", it was "an average to slightly smaller-sized QB to a tiny QB."... I don't think Stroud's size was a concern (dude was pretty lanky and not that tall, but the NFL fixes some of that), but nor was it a plus (as AR's was). And the fear of OSU QBs was very strong... everyone pointed to the WRs. I think it's easy to watch BY play in college and see how his movement and escapability could become a great asset. He's actually shown glimpses of that already. But he's just so damn small, you have to wonder if he can succeed with his physical tools. Ultimately only so much of this game is mental...
  7. I tend to think it was BY all along. While he wasn't at the top of everyone's board, it did seem that he was atop most. Stroud at #1 speculation peaked mid draft and we basically heard pretty quick he wasn't our preference. A lot of us hoped it was rumor at the time, but I think BY was widespread considered the #1 choice from the moment the trade was made.
  8. Honestly there's plenty of throws in the Lions game to have some excitement over (and some from previous games). Yes I would rather have Stroud, but we don't, so now I can just hope for improvements from BY.
  9. Also, the reality is BY was higher ranked than Stroud by a ton of scouts and teams. We did make the wrong choice, but it wasn't as if we went against the grain there (as, say, taking AR would have been).
  10. I definitely agree with this, I'm just curious where the Tepper narrative came from because the team pushed hard that Young was their target before the trade if they could get to 1, and they pushed he was always who they wanted. Doesn't make it true ofc.
  11. Do we know for sure Tepper was the push behind Bryce? I mean, it seemed like our QB coach wanted Stroud but everyone else was all over BY.
  12. The first of those TDs in the 4th wasn't against prevent. The lions didn't play soft until the next drive. Some promising plays from Bryce this game. More and more I think the coaching staff needs to get out of their own way...
  13. I'm not arguing it was a bad/risky decision. It was a perfectly placed ball, but it wasn't as if Chark was in broken coverage. I'm not sure what your point is.
  14. Uh what? No way. I'm not much of BY defender but you can't give up on him so short into his career.
  15. What? Chark was not wide open. He had his man beat but the throw had to be placed basically between defenders. Not like the broken coverage TD Dalton had to Chark.
  16. Easily the best game of Bryce's career. I really do not care much about interceptions for a rookie... don't get me wrong, they're not great, but meh. If we can start to see him hitting more of these tight windows passes... the velocity on those throws was perfect. Just need more of that.
  17. Honestly Young has had some nice throws the last couple drives. Gives me a bit of hope.
  18. Teddy was substantially better than Bryce in his first year, let alone when he started for us.
  19. Nothing would make me happier than to be as wrong about him as I was Cam. Of course, Cam showed how wrong I was ... basically week 1. I'm happy waiting 2 years to be proven wrong on Bryce if that is what it takes, lol.
  20. I mean, that isn't surprising. When you throw close to or behind the line of scrimmage, it's very unlikely to be interceptable. Bryce Young is only 30th out of 34 for intended air yards per attempt (https://pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/passing_advanced.htm). It could get worse! But, in that stat, he is actually ahead of Geno Smith, Dak Prescott, and Joe Burrow, so... What use does it have? Perhaps not a ton. Of course, Andy Dalton is at 8.2, good for 9th in the league, and ahead of CJ, Cousins, Allen, Mahomes... Bryce is tied for worst in the league in completed air yards per attempt, too. I don't think those stats are all on Bryce. It is clear the coaches don't trust him to execute the offense. That's a problem. What exactly is he learning throwing 20 screens a game? Just sit him and let him learn if he is really so far behind he can't come close to executing the offense. I *do not* think his stats indicate his arm talent isn't there... I used to, and I don't think he trusts himself enough to stretch the field, but I don't believe his arm is much worse ,if worse at all, than Dalton's.
  21. Jay Z didn't build Rome in seven years, be patient
