  1. After listening to the press conference I can confirm you are right, people do hear what they want these days.... Because Rhule did not say "if Sam is able to play he'd be the back up," lol... He said everything was on the table including Sam as backup, depending on clearing the protocol and if the shoulder is or isn't good to go... That means that if fully healthy, Sam starts. If a dinged up shoulder but could play if we are desperate, he might be a backup. If in the protocol or with a serious shoulder problem he'll be inactive... That's exactly what pantherj's post implies...
  2. Sometimes guys bounce around a bit before finding another place they can make an impact. I don't know what happened between closed doors so it's hard to comment, but hopefully he lands some place he can catch on.
  3. Were there some tweets about this? It kinda sounded from the Panthers story like he was still limited.
  4. Baker is better than a lot of potential landing spots for OBJ, tho. I just don't think he's been the same in years. As to the release, it's what OBJ wanted, so it's pretty much a gift to him. I think he's expecting to clear waivers so he can be a free agent and choose his destination.
  5. Glad to see our forum tough guy is here to poo talk professional football players, lol
  6. Assuming he isn't asking for much, yes. Even if we manage to find better with a later round draft pick (we can't spare anything early for the next couple years at LB, imo), he's very valuable depth. In today's game LBs are important but they aren't quite as important as they once were.
  7. A twisted part of me would love to see Lebron's tweets after OBJ got claimed by us with those QBs.
  8. I thought Reddick would be a pass rush specialist but he is making great plays in the run game too
  9. Regardless of how his career turns out we'll hear we could have drafted him for the next 3-5 years.
  10. Well the people arguing they only want to see PJ play to "force Rhules hand" may reveal they always meant a little something else. Just teasing... I personally would be happy with any way we pull off a W.
  11. No. I have no problem with you as a poster in the least. Just saying ... You can't expect much from this fan base now given recent (and tbh long term) history. I would ignore the trolls, tho. Mods get to them eventually... Just report if it's bad and move on... I know that sucks, believe me lol. And I try to ignore overly negative posts since they just get me down (not saying we need to act like Sam plays well. He doesn't, but it feels like an established fact now lol). I'm always glad for new posters to be here and plenty of others are too
  12. Fair. I want every Panthers player to be good. I realize many aren't. Especially in our recent history at QB.
  13. Plenty of us are welcome to all sorts of new fans, but if you're looking for a lot of positivity and support, midweek on a message board for a struggling team is gonna be a tough place to find it. I'm excited overall about the team but I'm not too excited about it's present state, so hard to post much positive stuff, ya know?
  14. Is this serious? You think youth trophies have created selfish stars and busts? People have underperformed after contract years since the dawn of ... Well, contracts. Lol
  15. Stuff like this is why you're a troll. We didn't make you that way. You've always been a troll. It was funny for a while but as kungfoo said, it got repetitive.
  16. I think we extended him anticipating a break out year with a QB with decent arm strength. Of course, that QB can't accurately deliver the ball deep and Robby can't hold onto passes at any depth so clearly the contract was a mistake. Maybe he'll have a big game with PJ, heh.
  17. I see we've reached the "mods just trolling posters" period of the season
  18. I'd love to see what he has, tbh. It's not like PJ is our answer at backup let alone starter. Ofc if Darnold is ready that's a moot point.
  19. A lot of reporting early was he had a decent shot at playing Sunday. It isn't unheard of for that to happen.
  20. So we're expecting PJ walking to go from being unable to complete 5 passes to ... Throwing 5 TDs?
  21. I think Sam has a future as a backup for a decent team honestly. We're on the hook for his salary so IF I could trust this staff not to rely on him, I'd say just leave him be because he'd be a decent backup behind whomever we draft or trade for (altho I don't know if I trust this staff to evaluate QBs...)
  22. 2.7% vs 3%... Not really a big upgrade. But he would have better receivers here. I dunno tho, I just feel like he'd get crushed here. I was hoping Seattle would pick him up and he could back up Wilson when be came back, get a shot at the Superbowl...
  23. I do love Cam, and his running ability would really give teams some fits. But he's maybe the only QB with a higher percentage of badly thrown balls last year than Darnold, and while I think he's objectively an upgrade.... I don't see it as a huge one unfortunately. But if CMC is back, it'd be intriguing to see what those two could do together.
