Rapaport: Panthers/ Tepper out of Watson deal
mav1234 replied to FugginPoo's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think its too early to draw a conclusion on Christensen but I'd not pass an elite LT prospect for his potential development, at least right now. While he was ... not good in his first start, there were some positives to build on, and I think tht he can develop significantly more, if only to good backup at tackle. How he was rated as a 2nd round guard is beyond me... maybe he'll bulk up in the off season? -

The fact we landed a former first rounder we were VERY high on and an all-pro in early in the season (along with an unfortunate injury) makes the Horn decision look worse than it did at the time for sure. I think Horn could be one of the best CBs in the league, so its hard for me to be down on the pick... But I am really not excited about the Henderson pick atm, in part because I think these guys are nowhere near as good as they believe at rehabbing talent. Just wish they weren't so down on Slater's fuging arms or whatever it was. -

No kidding. On the bright side I think that it's an understatement to say we finally addressed cornerback. I hope we put the same enthusiasm into our OL next offseason... -

the NFL also doesn't need to take action while HOU isn't playing him. I wouldn't be surprised if he was put on the list as soon as he practiced with his new team... The situation changes immediately when a new team might play him -

but think of the draft value we'll get with our haul of 2nd and/or 3rd round picks instead of our 1st!11!1!1 This draft will be interesting to see how Fitt/Rhule address the gaping holes in our offense. -
Darnold has terrible decision making. And he's too slow even when he makes the right decision, causing windows to close. There are other offensive problems and maybe he could some day have been servicable if we didn't have this bad an OL... But that isn't reality. He's done.

I think certain labels are unfairly used on people but there's gotta be some better examples of the double standard than Darnold... There's no possible way you could call Darnold fat and lazy. About all he is good for is actually putting in effort, it just doesn't show anywhere because he's bad. A huge portion of the posters on this forum have already concluded Darnolds problem is between the ears and he isn't making decisions fast enough and is just a bad player... He's the same guy he's always been unfortunately...

I wouldn't be surprised if that Dallas game looked a bit different with him... But boy has that ship sailed.

Jeremy Chinn? YGM is underrated here for that matter. And Terrace with a real QB should be great. But the issue is that Tua doesn't seem like our answer at QB either.
-
Id rather keep a 2nd/3rd than trade for Tua. He doesn't look bad but I don't think he looks like a franchise qb
-
He's been one of the worst wideouts in the NFL this year. Darnold isn't helping but he just looks checked out, and has for weeks. We have the most drops of any NFL team, but Darnold has declined so steadly the last few weeks that we also have some of the most bad throw percentages.

What ELITE level coaching looks like and can do for your Franchise

In terms of raw athleticism that may be true, but I really do think CMC is just a different level of player. Maybe I'm wrong tho, this isn't meant to hate on DJ and I do agree the comparison is difficult. Perhaps it is just that DJ is handicapped by horrible QBs, but he isn't under-utilized for a WR this season. He is one of the most targetted - and has some of the most receptions - of any receiver this season. He is also VERY high on drop percentages for WRs, but at least he isn't Robby. I do think he is a great WR... as if that matters when your QB is Sam Darnold. -
the draft is fluid and people latch on to certain specific things that Verge may have said at one time, despite saying something different (and often more accurate) as the draft got closer. but nobody's rumors / sources are ALWAYS correct. those of you intend on shitting on a person for sharing what they've heard, fug off. just ignore the posts. I ignore 90% of the posts from people with "inside" info (altho that has largely disappeared the last couple years, hmm)...

I don't agree with that. Granted it is hard to compare due to different positions and usages... But in terms of their relative ranking at their positions... CMC is arguably the best RB in the league if we discount injury history. He's an exceptional receiver and a great running back. DJ may be in the top 10 WRs but he is not in CMC's league. This shouldn't be seen as a knock on DJ... he's a great player... but CMC is something else entirely. edit: of course at least DJ stays on the field lol. If CMC can't start doing that, it really won't matter... -
do we think the watson trade is announced today (10/26)
mav1234 replied to DJ feed me moore's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think that the NFL itself is in bed with the owners and would certainly let them know what their plans are assuming nothing changes in the status quo. -

Fewer points per game and yards per game, more turnovers ... NO: 267 y/g, 16.8 ppg, 1.5 to/game CAR: 289 y/g, 20.9 ppg, 0.57 to/game.
