  1. I agree, but for a team that thinks they can make the playoffs, they're gonna start the guy that gives them the best option to win. That's gonna be Cam. I think if Brady is all he should be we can implement a gameplan that emphasizes Cams strengths... Leans on the RB, utilizes our receivers and our two backs that are good out of the backfield, etc. I just think this team has enough talent on O that without film on Brady+CMC+DJ+Cam, defenses will be at a huge disadvantage.
  2. What's the point? You can equally bad and sometimes worse low light videos from plenty of players. If Cam can be as dynamic as he was with the awful supporting cast the Pats had (albeit one of the better OCs in the league ... ), he can have success here too.
  3. Cam made Byrd look incredible frequently lol. Cam had a handful of very bad games, and all of them came after COVID, with half his INTs in 15 games coming in the 2 RIGHT after he came back. He's still dynamic and exciting to watch, and he'll have one of the best supporting casts of his career on O. No more excuses for Brady and Robby tho.
  4. It depends what the question is. This isn't a QB heavy draft. if the question is, is Cam a 5 year answer at QB... Probably not. But if the question is who is the best option for this team to compete this year with the possibility of building on that going into next year? Cam is the ONLY answer. If Cam works out over the next few games he'll be a starter here for a few years again, lock down QB, and let us move towards finding a longer term QB at a pace that isn't desperation.
  5. I'm happy to admit how wrong I was about Cam coming back. I just hope our OL gels and our OC gets creative. Cam is still dynamic enough that if Boy Genius is all he's cracked up to be we should be able to score frequently and easily.
  6. I challenge anyone that thinks Cam is completely broken to watch his 2020 highlights. Yes, he throws bad balls occasionally not in those, he's not in MVP form, but he is a significant upgrade over what we've seen the last 5 weeks (edit: what we've seen all year tbh). He gives us a real chance to succeed... And it also puts Brady on a real fuging hot seat imo.
  7. Gonna go enjoy his 2020 highlights: Edit: darn, dunno how to embed YouTube...
  8. All of Darnold's arm strength doesn't matter when his timing is trash and he can't see the field tho... Cam can still throw a deep ball, it just isn't as good as it was.
  9. I think this is what went down too. I don't think Rhule was lying when he said he was excited to coach Cam, but I think he also knew that other options were emerging etc which made it disingenuous. Still it wasn't a one man decision IMO.
  10. I think it's also "look we don't want to keep negotiating with you... You want multi year, we want 2 years, but we want you to play against the Cardinals more" deal lol. Cam gambling on himself this year going for 1 year over 2. Just the kind of move I think we'd expect from him, hehe.
  11. A team ass young as ours needs playoff experience IMO. Having someone like Cam that has been there can only help. This draft sucks for QBs anyway.
  12. This isn't about 5 years from now. It's about riding a very good defense as far as we can. There are reasons to be optimistic. Cams stats last season weren't always good, but half his INTs came in the 2 games post Covid. He had some very good passing games last year, too. Although we don't have a good TE, which I think Cam feasts with, we have strong receivers and CMC, which will help him in the passing game. And as a run first team, Cam is a perfect QB.
  13. 2020 Cam is still better than any player available or on our roster.
  14. LEmme find that post to poo it for the Sam Howell comment.
  15. Never expected them to bring him back but happy to be wrong. Cam isn't what he was, but he's better than anyone on our roster and any other option available, so that's what matters.
  16. I was hoping he'd end up winning a super bowl on a playoff team this year... Guess that has to be us now!
  17. Glad to be wrong! Really wishing we had Slater now...
  18. Hindsight being what it is... And someone that likes Justin Fields... I think I would rather have gone with Slater.
  19. Wouldn't it be wild if our division had Wilson, Watson, AND Brady? Lol... Oh yeah and Matt Ryan
  20. Hope so. Although PJ ran for his life a couple times in relief already, so we shall see. Should be less pressures tho.
  21. So from this and previous post, given these are overall... PFF says Jordan was better in run blocking than pass blocking while Tecklenburg and Moton were better in pass blocking .
  22. A trip, followed by a grab, twist and pull? Looked dirty to me and plenty of others... Including the players.
  23. Tbf he only had 1 more and 1 of em was a reception... Meanwhile this year Teddy has thrown TDs on just under 5% of his passes, has only 1 fewer passing TD than all of last year so far, a 70% completion percentage and is likely gonna hit 30 total TDs on the year. Actually looking like a decent (altho not exceptional) starter...
  24. Yeah I dunno... Darnold didn't seem to take any rough hits (altho he got knocked around a lil)vs NE... But if it was an "aggravation" it makes more sense...
  25. Let's get a broken QB with injury history, put him behind an OL with significant injury history, not bring in any competent backup QBs to either help the broken QB in the QB room or step in if he gets hurt, ignore the obvious brewing problems in these units thru preseason and our first few games, and then totally fail to address either by the trade deadline. Brilliant! Remember the whole treating Darnold like a rookie? I'd that's true... any rookie we draft is fuged too.
