The stats the Op provided are not about deep balls despite the title of the thread and the tweet saying they were. That is not what PFF big time throws are.

Their defense is SCARY. And if CJ catches fire, they'll be really hard to beat.

In the first half of the year I did a comparison between the last few games of 2024-2025 and the first few of this year and he was clearly gunshy to throw past 10ish yards. Curious how that looks across the season. Crazy his efficiency is the same, year 3...

Bryce has had a bunch of what id consider good deep passes this year especially the last half but it is really bullshit and disingenuous to push a deep ball specialist narrative that isn't true and isn't necessary for him to be a success. We just need more fuging consistency from him within and between games, and while we need to threaten deep we need the intermediate passing game even more.

Big time throws are NOT deep passes. As others have said. It's made up and I feel like it's pretty ridiculous. from PFF: "What is a big-time throw? Throws graded at the higher end of PFF's scale (+1.0, +1.5, and +2.0) are categorized as big-time throws." I don't think this is his peak. For one, he's not always going to exist in a passing offense happy to just hit 3k yards. Even that aside, he'll learn routes better, get stronger, and adjust more to NFL speed in a way I think you'll see him improve quite a bit. He doesn't strike me as someone content with a season like this

I think in the modern NFL you need a QB to produce to be successful but I have always grouped yards on the air and ground (and I do this for Bryce too) into how a QB can contribute. As long as your QB is able to move the ball and get first downs the offense will end up successful generally. Fwiw, Bryce seems to be getting more comfortable scrambling lately which is good. Obviously a delicate balance as we don't want him bailing too early but I think that's only happened once I could see (without looking at all-22) so I'm pretty happy there. I just want consistency, heh.

This is the optimistic view that I'm trying to have. I think the fact he needs to throw with anticipation and in specific ways means he really needs to trust his receivers and work well with them. He's clearly got chemistry with TMac and Coker. He also had it with AT. I don't think he trusts XL at all, for good reason, lol
