  1. Not anymore, and I'm not saying we fire him this week or something. I want to see him with someone else. But I do think that he does have to own some of the passing offense & Bryce's performance for now. I'm not sure he can feasibly put a better passing offense out there given our QBs though.
  2. This is imo not the best example of why XL is a bust but NFL receivers do come down with balls like that on occasion. Still... your point is spit on and is why I'm not throwing any of our WRs out. I will say XLs effort just leaves something to be desired, and it feels like our other pass catchers generally try to fight more.
  3. Receivers find ways to make plays on poorly thrown balls / difficult catches every week. But XL routinely misses easier plays than that. I am willing to give him another year on the roster with a new QB but I think we should be seeing more Coker opposite TMac at this point.
  4. If Bryce can't throw a forward pass, it makes any game plan... difficult
  5. Ehhh... I mean... I would argue Brown, Horn, and TMac are basically the 3 players that I would consider untouchable right now. But it depends where we are at in the draft and who is there. I'm reluctant to trade our star players for high draft picks right now.
  6. It isn't that he doesn't see down the field, he is failing to read the field. On the INT that stood, he bit completely on a blitz fake, stared TMac down and somehow didn't see the defender dropping into coverage despite seeming to stare at him
  7. Every time Bryce drops back, I wince.
  8. That's why the knocks on "the whole team" ring a bit hollow for me. The D wasn't terrible today by any means. Dowdle ran hard but was contained. Also looking beat up.
  9. this is exactly where I am. He got some decent games out of Bryce last year that now looks like a miracle.
  10. Yeah I suspect those two are going to be gone well before we'll be able to pick.
  11. What backup QBs are even worse than Bryce Young? Just watching backups around the league throwing the ball around...
  12. I actually thought Bryce would "step up" and have like ~175 yards and we'd win a close one.
  13. A good coach and a good QB can turn everything around.
  14. Canales didn't call a terrible game but he continues to play Bryce, so at some point, he has to take flack for that.
  15. Canales HAS to bench him. I think he's going to lose the team over it. The offense just looks so... deflated
  16. I bet he could hang around because I bet he has elite skills on the white board.
  17. It's incredibly frustrating because if he was just a good player, we would be so fortunate as a franchise. But he's not. He's just not good on the field, and that's where it counts. I really hate it for him and for us.
  18. Do you guys think an extra day of practice would help Bryce not blow chunks?
  19. Bryce's play the last 2-3 weeks hasn't even been at a backup level. He's been *atrocious*. He got completely exposed today.
  20. Surprised to see this from you tbh, but I know it sucks. I wanted him to work out for us. Time to move on is right. And the worst part is we are basically forced to continue to play him for the next few weeks because our only other QB might be the only player in the NFL worse than him.
  21. the funny thing is we don't even need amazing QB play to win... Our D, despite the 2 turnovers, only gave up 17. Not their best performance, no, and Horn's slips sucked, but this was a VERY winnable game with even a mediocre QB performance.
  22. The game plan was very clearly to try to get Bryce going early because Canales knew they'd sit on Rico, For one drive it worked fine. But the supercomputer can't process the field at all. He was fooled by a fake blitz despite *staring into it*. There's no way to game plan to make up for a QB like Bryce.
