  1. Or the first overall pick with a very good QB class to pick his preference from... I could see that being tempting to someone like him.
  2. Depends how the last 2 weeks go. Two more blowouts and I think Rhule is gone. Especially with Darnold back... Two hand picked QBs, two flops ... Re: the quote, they're talking specifically about a top of the draft selection and not roster / on field product in general. We heard Tepper wanted Fields but Rhule preferred Darnold...
  3. It isn't illogical for an owner about to engage in a HC search to be very political and particular in the words he chooses. There's still two weeks left and he's not going to fire him now. So yeah, I would expect that he'd say things about being supportive. not sure about this we problem stuff... We have zero evidence that Tepper is directly involved with the product on the field as you describe it. Moreover, we know that Rhule is above fitterer in the heirachy of decision making ... The buck stops with Rhule for on field product and it's garbage...
  4. Its very apparent how true the story was from the on field play and roster construction decisions... It's basically what a bunch of us were worried was happening. From the favoritism for temple to general cluelessness...
  5. Cam is ALWAYS supportive of his coach. He stood by Rivera at every turn, no matter how bad things looked. Right now, with rumors that Rhule's gonna be back for 2022, players can't speak on the record. But we can see it on the sidelines and in their play... And now from anonymous sources. None of these guys are playing like it matters. Rhule may not have lost the locker room in every way, but the players aren't playing hard for him anymore. Same thing happened to Rivera eventually, but it took much longer.
  6. Words have meaning, and even all of these are clearly setting the team up to move on from Rhule imo, at least in some ways... If you read between the lines it was not a good conversation between them insofar as Tepper was very unhappy with the process so far.
  7. Fitterer did pull off some good trades and I think our draft was high value when ignoring team needs. While ideally the GM is considering team needs, we don't actually know what Rhule decided were needs... I'm a little worried reports were he wasn't high on Fields since we really need him to hit the next QB selection out of the park.
  8. With the off target passes going in every direction the defense knowing our routes won't matter!!!!!
  9. If the top QB is there, I feel you have to take him, even if it means starting Darnold for most of the year behind a bad line and getting him killed. Of course where we are picking there may not be the right QB option, and so OL for sure then. Or another corner. Another corners always good. Can't have too many corners.
  10. "Focus on the now and not your future" is not a ringing endorsement lol
  11. It is very good national media is picking this up. Be embarrassed, Tepper. You were taken by the equivalent of a used car salesman. Some of us were, too. The difference is you can fix this. So fuging do it!
  12. I'd rather have a decent, youngish offensive assistant (not Brady youny lol), but of all the retreads he might be my favorite.
  13. Oh no I agree on that - this season is lost. Just can't imagine him getting a third year. Hopefully it won't happen...
  14. Appreciate the time you're putting into these. It's hard for me to get up the energy to care about individual players but it has felt YGM makes a big difference in run support often, which gives me hope that he can become a good all around player for us. Nice to see some of his growth is born out on the tape... Ive been worries Rhule is ruining all our promising young players...
  15. Doesn't make sense. If Tepper is embarrassed and upset why give him another year?
  16. Right. Playing better than our current QBs? Sure there are QBs that would have. Actually won us a bunch of these games? Crazy.
  17. I do get that but as soon as he started throwing the coaching staff under the bus in press conferences I think he is hard to bring back ... Well, and losing consistently. I don't mind moving on from teddy tbh, it's more disappointing they gambled a 2nd rounder on a busted QB and had the hubris to think they could fix him... Behind a terrible line. Ugh.
  18. Ahh I know Tepper is pushing for a franchise QB, but if he really was pushing THAT hard, we would actually have Fields I think. Did you mean that Sheena Quick claimed that Tepper specifically forced them to move on from Teddy? Because that seemed surprising. I think that Teddy was not the answer, and the staff thought Darnold might be. The staff didn't think Fields was. I think he is clearly going with what our staff thinks rather than forcing them to go in his direction, or we'd have Fields instead of Horn. Btw, did Tepper make comments beyond the whole "you're constantly evaluating the QB position if it isn't a guy that can lead you to the playoffs"? I wasn't sure if he specifically called Teddy out (not that he necessarily needed to, lol).
  19. Overall I like fitterer so far and hope he gets a shot with a different coach.
  20. Ehh. I'd rather he spend money on who he thought was a good choice and be wrong than miss out on someone because he's cheap. He can, in theory, learn. Fitterer actually seemed a decent choice too. Hard to evaluate him given Rhule but a lot of his moves have had good value. FA OL was terrible but... That said... I don't mind him moving slow to fire Rivera and Hurney. Just hope he sees the trend this team is headed in and moves on from Rhule.
  21. What this board needs is more fat jokes for sure I don't think that post is accurate and regardless I don't think he thinks of Darnold as a true franchise guy, but it's worth playing him the last few games to guarantee our losses.
  22. Spending money on a coach is only a bad thing if it's a Reason he won't move on. Not sure that is true. I don't really want the owner involved with things on the field frankly. I just want him able to move on from those not performing. He did so with Rivera and Hurney... Hoping he does with Rhule as well. He may give him a third year, which would disappoint me, but we will see.
  23. Are we sure about this? Teddy threw the *coaching staff* under the bus. admittedly, he was right, but are you sure that this was Tepper stepping in vs the staff being done with him? I don't think we can blame Tepper directly for Darnold or a lack of Fields; if anything, what we've heard is he pushed hard for Fields.
