  1. He definitely had a great game. Not crowning him yet, tho. Hilariously, this was his worst of the last three games based on ESPN's "QBR" - 46.4, while last week was 58.4 and the NO game was 47.3... hahahahaha.
  2. GB was a terrible pass defense, too, if I recall. KC is not at all, tho they are stronger against the run. Young not only kept us in the game but tied it up at the end. If he and the O figure the red zone out, we'll be a scary opponent.
  3. This may sound weird but I'm low-key excited for the D in the future (if we keep evero of course). You can see some of his pieces coming together. He's just lacking the talent at some positions to make it work. Jewell and Wonnum, tho.. damn they are kinda exciting. And ofc Clowney is doing Clowney things...
  4. Coker was on the injury report, I believe. Something from practice.
  5. This is a really good explanation and puts it in good context. Thanks!
  6. I've been watching him too and I just don't quite see that. He doesn't look as good as last year (mostly he is making worse decisions and throwing more ints) but he still has only 3 games all year with less than 200 yards passing and more games with multiple touchdowns than games with none. I really want Bryce to succeed and the last few games have showed promising improvement, but yesterday's game wouldn't be a surprise for Stroud like it was for BY.
  7. Stroud sliding still is a better QB than young (consistency wise anyway)
  8. Give me the rest of the season at the level of yesterday and I'll sign myself up as a Twitter Stan. Until then, I just hope he keeps improving and we bring in competition next year.
  9. If he doesn't run into Thielen, he catches it for a touchdown. Thielen was in better position than the corner. We don't know who wins the jump ball there.
  10. I mean, he'll continue to grow and develop as a player. There's no reason to sit perfectly healthy players. If he's in good shape, we might as well play him. If his injury is such that he is more likely to have a re-injury, perhaps you limit his play time, but football is a physical game and we need to develop our young players too.
  11. Hopefully he comes around to being a better overall player... I think JT is coming along well blocking. He isn't as good as those two just yet there but I feel like I've seen him have some nice blocks, especially in the passing game. I think the PFF grades from this week looked pretty good for JT, albeit in limited time. Plus he's a threat every time he's out there. Unfortunately the other two just aren't.
  12. Good point. He's definitely better in 10-15 yards. I think that's his biggest improvement. Edit: can't count in am, lol This passing chart doesn't look like at By one, lol. He threw more "deep" passes than Mahomes (NOT comparing him to Mahomes in a skill way lol), or at least more beyind 10 yards.
  13. The D had two huge stops. Kept us in the game. But keeping Mahomes from a FG is virtually impossible at the end of the game. Still, not great before the 4th quarter and a lot of bone headed mistakes (esp by Horn). The D definitely needs work.
  14. My only caution is we don't know how the playbook has changed to accomodate his specific skills or lack thereof. But... That's true of any QB. The offense was not held back by the passing game at all. He does need to find ways to score in the red zone but that will come.
  15. KC has a very good defense this year. It is 5th overall. Yes, still worse than last year, but their offense is considerably worse. Their passing D may be their "weakness" but they still allow fewer than 20 ppg. BY completed several deep passes yesterday, and he was able to threaten downfield in ways he didn't seem capable of before the benching. I'm not necessarily worried about his ability to connect deep anymore. What to me was impressive was that he did all this without a run game. We used the pass to set up what little running success we had. Wild.
  16. I don't think it's necessary to succeed, but it's clear Bryce doesn't have the arm strength to really fit the ball into tight windows with arm alone 15-20 yards down field regularly. He can throw really well at that distance with anticipation, but he just lacks the same arm strength as some other notable high draft picks. However, the question becomes - can he make up for that in other ways? He might be able to, because he played a very good KC D ( tho passing wise it is more middle of the pack - still a good D).
  17. Did someone say... Winning season?!?!?!?! ( )
  18. This stuff is great Icege, appreciate it!
  19. Bryce has improved in the deep passing game, but moreso in those intermediate throws that are 15-20 yards down field. He was very accurate on them yesterday and made some very nice throes. And that 30 yarder was just flat dropped, or this chart would look even better. Many of us are still concerned on if the physical tools are there, but at least there's progress... And meaningful progress, taking the defending champs down to the wire, tieing the game late. Real nice job by him yesterday.
  20. It's not unreasonable but I would say the investment just doesn't matter anymore. To me, being #1 or Mr irrelevant shouldn't guarantee him a starting job next year. I will say the last few weeks have gone very far in changing my mind from "not sure I want him on the team at all" to "well poo, maybe he could win a starting job next year if he keeps improving."
  21. I think we see the last few weeks a little differently but I don't blame you for those thoughts on baby steps as progress. Regardless of how one lands on that, he needs to keep improving.
  22. I feel the D is more pressing now than the O (outside of QB)... We do need another WR tho.Coker was out this week, but XL needs to work on his damn hands. Thielen can't have much more left in him, either. Too bad Diontae was a cancer...
  23. There was a reason he's bounced between so many teams lol
  24. Right - this was a very good game from him, but it's one game. Even this four game stretch is good but it's not incredible in the way you settle on him no matter what for another year. Competition makes these guys better, and Bryce has yet to earn an undisputed position as QB #1 next year IMO. And that's coming from someone that has been really excited by his progress the last few weeks.
  25. Fair enough, I'm not that kind of doctor, hahaha.
