  1. the Packers got Jaire Alexander back, who had been out for weeks... ofc now they've benched him but he is definitely gonna improve that defense. also jesus this prevent defense nonsense... some of you guys, hahahaha. Seems you didn't watch the game, which I can't blame you given this team blows. But if you want to actually look at the defensive alignments of the Packers, go for it: No prevent defense until the last ~20 seconds of the game... Down by 14, I mean on the 3rd and 12 throw to Chark there are 6 packers rushing the passer, lol. Who runs a prevent defense with 6 pass rushers. Or in the redzone with a blitzing player coming after Young on BOTH of his TD throws to Chark. Hell, on the second TD pass they bring a blitzer, Bryce is flushed from the pocket and finds Chark in the back corner... Want to call those last 2 throws stat padding against a prevent? hahaha okay, sure, whatever you want. I have no problem with people shitting on Young, he's done plenty to deserve it, but this hilarious need to describe opponents defenses as prevent is confusing.
  2. I for one prefer my quarterbacks to suck in the 4th quarter but well in the first!
  3. Man dude Bryce has blown all 4 quarters of most games. Calling the last couple weeks stat padding is bonkers tho. Leading come backs and last week only being let down by zebras and the defense...
  4. We may not be the most attractive job but Johnson is a dude that turned Goff into a winner again so I doubt he's too worried about his QB right at the start. While we poo on Tepper, willingness to spend on coordinators etc is probably attractive. The whole question is if he can convince coaches he really will let them do their thing without interference. It's why I think hiring a president would be the right move, signals a real change in how he plans to be involved, then.
  5. Man a lot of us are also pretty tired of Burns. I like him but not for what he'd cost us. Ready to move on...
  6. With the WR class so deep, I think we probably go there top of the 2nd. But I'd love for us to land a quality center in the draft... I thought Bozeman was the answer in the offseason but it doesn't seem so.
  7. If we can see that level of 4th quarter play for a half or full game I'll be pretty excited for a full offseason with him working. I think it's important to note how well DJ Chark played, too. If those two could get chemistry going, I suspect Chark is still going to be pretty cheap...
  8. somehow he continues his 75+ overall PFF rating despite weeks of being between 65 and 55... someone with a subscription should check his run defense and pass defense grades.
  9. I think stats don't often tell the whole story and I think that is true of Bryce the last two weeks - it's less to me about the yards or what not and more about the kind of throws he's making and plays he's creating. It's still just a step but I went and watched his throws yesterday again and he just had some very impressive plays
  10. If it meant gathering future picks I wouldn't mind as much, lol. Not like the people Fitterer drafts pan out so if he sets the next GM up well... We really just need talent tho and 33 should have a ton of great options.
  11. All good. Agree to disagree. We see the situation differently Regardless our team would look different right now with Lamar for sure haha
  12. Lamar has been in the league longer than Burrows or Herbert... Lol... The Ravens said all along they wanted Lamar back, dude. They made it clear they did. They franchised him. I don't know what to tell you... They never let him test the market, lol
  13. I think we like when media sources say nice things about our players. Especially in such a shitty situation I don't put much stock in their individual numbers week to week, but it's nice when a player is recognized by a media outlet that had been pretty harsh on him (understandably) for playing pretty well. Just like most else in sports media, it means basically nothing but it's fun to talk about.
  14. I don't think there was some HUGE "day one fail" crowd (not as much as like Cam), but many of us, myself included, became very negative after just a couple weeks because we didn't want him in the first place, and a lot of those posters have stayed VERY negative no matter what, lol, whereas a few of us are a bit more rational (and maybe even getting excited). It has gotten ridiculous because anything positive was met with a crowd of negativity, there's tons of really stupid, reactionary posts, etc. Especially the last two weeks, it is hard to do much other than comment on how the defenses made it easy for him or something like that, because he has actually been pretty good when it mattered most.
  15. dude... How often are players that are franchise tagged even traded for...? No offer sheet was made because everyone knew that unless it was an INSANE deal (for a player that has been injured recently, too) there was no guarantee, plus you'd have the two draft picks coming out of it even if it wasn't matched. You didn't win anything. Now, if they hadn't franchised him AND Lamar was forced to take whatever the Ravens offered, sure...
  16. 6/6 of graded rookie QBs on the year overall. AR is on the link, he's not part of the 6/6 as he was out in week 5. The other QBs aren't in the first round I think and I don't pay for PFF, so not sure who all qualifies. I am a little confused how BY has an 84+ grade the last two weeks (for reference, CJ is at 82 all season) when I thought he was 79 last week and he's 82 this week...? Who knows, PFF has so many different stats for players I don't try to figure out where their numbers actually come from week to week without a subscription lol
  17. The Packers aren't actually THE worst secondary. They're one of about a dozen teams with a bad passing defense... I don't even know if they're the worst secondary we've faced yet..
  18. He was franchised on March 7th... Before he could negotiate with teams... Everyone knew the Ravens wanted to keep him https://www.baltimoreravens.com/news/lamar-jackson-franchise-tag-non-exclusive-ravens-apply
  19. Brady was absolutely out with New England. Lamar was not. The Ravens never said they were done with him.
  20. Honestly the last two weeks have given reason for excitement. He does need to keep this going, and fug would I be pumped if he finished the season on a tear, but let's not get too far ahead of ourselves just yet. Either way, I think we saw glimpses of why he was a first round QB pick the last two weeks (and honestly, he's had some plays earlier where we did too). It is completely possible there were too many voices in his hand and he was listening to too many different people and not focusing on enough on any one thing. I hope that was it. Footwork is still a major concern, but footwork IS fixable.
  21. Also from PFF: PICK NO. 1: CAROLINA PANTHERS: QB BRYCE YOUNG Overall Rookie Grade: 55.6 (Rank: 6/6) Principal Opponent: N/A Week 16 Snaps: 66 Week 16 Grade: 82.0 For the second straight week, Young saved his best for last. He just narrowly missed his second consecutive victory but tallied 300 passing yards for the first time in his career. It was also his first game with three big-time throws. Young posted a 97.6 overall grade in the fourth quarter against Green Bay, which stands as the second-best quarter by any quarterback this year. Despite all the turmoil around him, it’s encouraging to see Young put forth back-to-back productive efforts. https://www.pff.com/news/nfl-grading-all-first-round-picks-week-16-2023-nfl-season
  22. it boggles the mind he still has a job. I just don't get it. He has been SO bad. I do think it is likely Tepper has had a hand in what trades did and didn't happen, and that's part of it, but still.
  23. Watson held out to get that to happen. Lamar didn't. Hugely different situations. Baltimore was playing with Lamar and EVERYONE knew it. Now if Lamar had gone into the season with the tag... I bet you'd have seen a different outcome.
