Stroud had one of the better rookie seasons of all time, and had a bit of a slump his sophomore season but is in the playoffs, and stepped up when it mattered to help lead his team to victory.... It's easy to praise that kind of play and success. Young's had a tougher road but is playing well now. It's harder to hang out hat on his accomplishments - it's still about his potential. And as to pulling teeth, I dunno man. I don't see it that way anymore. You've got people like Frankw and me saying we're excited for next year and saw real growth. Meanwhile we've got you coming in and calling Stroud pedestrian and others in the playoff thread trolling after a drive... So the trolling then brings in people to defend Stroud etc...

Dude there's basically 2 haters left. Almost all of us skeptics are excited to see his growth and happy he's turned it around. None of that keeps us from really liking Stroud and thinking there's a lot of people in this fan base with a weird grudge against him. As to their respective 2024 seasons... What really matters right now is that Stroud is still playing and Young is at home. Here's hoping that is not the case next year

Yup. Even in 2021 when we drafted Horn we then went offense repeatedly. The defense is without starting quality players all over the place, and it's also real poor depth wise. It'll take a long time to get it back to where it was...

Reasonable assessments overall. It's interesting how different 2021 looks now compared to last year... One year for some of these players makes such a huge difference.

I also think Cam's arm issues would get worse thru the year, and that kind of inconsistency is real hard on a player. But yeah, Cam never learned to play with the same kind of anticipation as some QBs, and for a long time it didn't matter. And I think he was used to making a living with a certain type of game and when he didn't have the rifle to hit the 30 yard passes the same way, it thru him off in other ways, too. I'll always love what Cam did for this team, and it was hard to see him struggle at times.

I think Washington may come up short against TB, but agree with your other assessments. We'll see which Bucs team shows up today.

Depending on where you live, squirrels are exposed to a range of chemicals, and they tend to have high loads of pathogens and other diseases (like most wild animals do). But as long as you're preparing them right, meh, whatever. I don't care what XL does with his off season as long as next year it's clear he has improved.

Good QB play makes the league as a whole more fun to watch. I hope CJ continues his "pedestrian" 300 total yard performances in the playoffs and is joined by our own "pedestrian" QB play there some day. I suspect the Texans are done next week but what an accomplishment for a young QB to overcome such a rocky 2nd half of his season to be where he is. Plus he was ass in the first quarter but anyone who watched the game saw him make plays after that. The end of the first half was real good, and he carried that over... Edit: Also Stroud and Young are friends and root for each other. If they can do it, why can't some of us? They both seem like good young players. I'm glad Young's play has improved to a point I can imagine a time they might both be in the playoffs, lol.

I don't understand how they're using him... I mean I get the idea but when the offense just isn't functioning at all, throwing him in for one play at a time doesn't let anyone establish a rhythm...

Their OL is dogshit though - yes they have Tunsil but they're just atrocious. If they're going to go deep in the playoffs it'll be because the OL plays out of its mind.

Stroud HAS struggled at times... But of any fan base that doesn't give up on a player after a bad stretch you'd think we'd be the first to recognize the importance of an OL and how a young QB can bounce back.

I still think Slowik abandons the run too easily but when you've got a QB and WR tandem like Stroud/Collins, can't blame him ...

I really hate it. We can like Stroud AND Bryce and hope they both succeed. I don't get why this (and others do too I'm sure) fan base has to tear down other good players.

Chargers OL is definitely better than the Texans, but the Texans DL is incredibly good and neutralizes that advantage... If Stroud can keep playing like he did the last 2 drives this game is gonna get out of LACs reach.
