Bryce is slippery but blaming the OL for a loss (which isn't what Jimmy is doing here as far as I can tell) is nuts. Still, Bryce is good at escaping pressure (although arguably he is failing at stepping up in the pocket lately). Ultimately Bryce is good at very little and being good at one thing doesn't overcome the other limitations.

Maybe the last 4 but over the season pff likes him as much as any stat measure lol

This team, especially this offense, is so deflating for me as a fan. Still rooting like you said, but my energy is going towards things less frustrating.

Bryce isn't why we lost on Sunday but if you'd have given him credit for a game winning drive had he actually done something on the last drive (and I would have) then in turn we have to acknowledge he didn't get it done this last Sunday when it mattered.

We had as many drives as the Saints. We just failed to execute at the end of the game, and they succeeded. They had the better QB and the better play calls that game. The defense gave up only 20 despite an offense whose last 3 drives were a turnover on downs and several quick 3 and outs. By no means was it good but you should win if your D holds their opponent to 20. I mean, most NFL teams would since they average 23 points. (Panthers only average 19 though)

Good QBs make plays and defenses can only hold teams so long. By no means do we have an elite defense but we could and should have won that game with better offense, even by a smidge

By meh plays I mean plays that aren't necessarily mistakes, but aren't really doing much, either. With this game, Bryce probably will be equal to or lower than last year, but entering the game he was throwing ints on 2.5% of throws, which was his highest of his career. edit: Bryce has also had more fumbles this year than last in total, though of course he's played more this year too.

This is where I'm at. Sure he didn't lose the game, but the point is it's extraordinarily hard to win with how he usually plays.

Yes, every QB has bad plays. Bryce just happens to have more plays that are meh than most others, which is why he is one of the worst starting QBs in the league. The thing is, in a game that means this much, with a chance to maintain a division lead - Bryce was just another guy. And his limitations where on full display. That's what I mean. It's why i think he's a problem. And while yes, he wasn't the reason we lost or anything like that... I would like us to have a QB that is a bigger part of why we win than what Bryce is usually capable of.

Dunno man. Two of the better QBs in the league, while not being shut out, didn't throw for 300. So I don't think that Bryce does. Evero definitely is in my proverbial doghouse right now, and our inability to get pressure is a major problem, but I don't think think Bryce would play better than the best QBs we've played vs our defense.

I don't know, man. This game is the same as every other game of us - he moves well in the pocket and escapes well, but he can't find the middle of the field and his ball placement often leaves something to be desired. he did have some great scrambles and a great throw to Coker, but every QB in the NFL can do those things.

I'm not really sure, tbqh. Our weakness as a D is often the middle of the field, and Bryce has huge trouble throwing to the middle of the field.

He made plenty of throws into coverage and/or that were contested (hence why Jackson was able to knock two balls out with hits after reception). Plus he can actually threaten the middle of the field from the pocket. But the funny part is I don't even want Shough necessarily - it's just that he looks way ahead of Bryce already.
