  1. Perhaps, so stop giving him "kill" plays that are screens. He's not calling totally different plays from what the coaches want.
  2. And that QB was Andy fuging Dalton, who isn't Mr. Armstrength. This is all deeply concerning for the future of this team. At least we don't have to worry about languishing in mediocrity?
  3. It isn't just a BY issue. It felt like every other lass was a screen, which isn't BY refusing to go deep. If the coaches don't trust him to stretch the field, tho, he shouldn't be playing.
  4. I expected the shift to 3-4 would benefit burns... it doesn't seem to have much.
  5. Stroud has had a historic start. How many QBs in that caliber of start didn't pan out? Not saying Bryce is a bust by any means, but Stroud looks like the real deal. He may have a slump at some point but there's no evidence he won't be able to have success long term.
  6. I don't blame Bryce, and don't think we can judge him yet. The coaches are the problem. I may not "be sold" on Bryce yet, but he's a rookie and we aren't helping him
  7. BY isn't ready. But they can't afford not to play him if he's healthy. Reich and Fitterer need him to work out or they lose their jobs. This isn't a playoff team with Dalton anyway.
  8. Our play calling is actually abysmal at the goal line lol
  9. Don't worry, Woods and Horn will be back in time for our playoff push! ()
  10. Shoulda put "Fitt's", as in his first rounders.
  11. wow see I always knew that our all-star coaching staff would eventually attract top flight talent!
  12. Damn dude, sorry to hear that. Feel better soon!
  13. Absolutely. Hurney at least had incredible first rounders... I have high hopes for Fitts but the jury is out...
  14. Often if someone says "but this rookie needs time to learn them game" during the draft process, they're talking sitting half or full seasons. Every single rookie, even "Pentium processors" or whatever it is BY was billed as, will need time to adjust to the NFL game speed. Some do it faster than expected, some slower. BY is showing evidence of being NFL ready in changing plays at the line etc. But he's also shown he isn't yet ready for the speed of defenses. My bigger concern is if he trusts his arm enough to get the ball into tight windows. With this receiving group, it's just what he'll have to do. Way too early for me to think he's a bust, though. There's been glimpses of talent here and there and I suspect we'll get lots more.
  15. We actually had a conversation before the trade up about how the good thing about Reich was we probably didn't need to over reach this year for a QB since his system can work with a lot of QBs. Then we went and traded away our best player on offense and the future to do just that, so...
  16. Wilks as an HC was not particularly aggressive, no. I also did say my opinion changed on preferring an OC. Wilks did an admirable job with what he had. I wouldn't have been upset with Wilks either. I wanted Steichen, but was impressed by Reichs staff. So much for that.
  17. I'm not sure he deserves to be paid what he wants. Frankly he looks a lot like he always has to me - good for a sack or pressure here and there but not really a consistent disruptor.
  18. Evero is legit. Last year I was very against hiding a DC for the job and I've completely changed my mind. Evero is smart and aggressive in his play calling and the D looked bad in the second half but he was out his two starting LBs, a safety, and two starting corners... several of which were lost in game (harder to scheme around than those lost before it). When given a chance to scheme he hides weaknesses and beings out a good squad imo.
  19. Well, there's definitely a thread that was started saying that. But I don't think that it's crazy for Dalton to be ahead of BY. Expected, even, and plenty of time for BY to turn his season around. Frankly I thought our offense scheme was still pretty bad with Dalton. If anything, I'm even more convinced we're squandering what we do have talent wise. Where was Shenault? Why does it seem all our runs are just dives? Where's Chubba? How did we go into this game so unprepared for the noise? And fug man, never let TMJ on a football field again...
  20. So Next gen stats calculates CPOE, completion percentage over expectation, based on expected completions given distance of the pass and probably some other analytics. Weirdly, Daltons was -6%... which is very confusing to me. BY was very slightly positive in the only game we have from him, which just makes me think it's another weird and worthless stat.
  21. Chark and Theilen got separation at times it seemed, but Dalton was willing to put the ball into tight windows regardless, which Bryce has been hesitant to. Our receivers are still a problem...
  22. Dalton played much better than I expected. He stretched the field often. We still seem to favor the right size of the field on short throws. Was good to see Chark getting more involved.
  23. Chark looked open often, or at least had separation, but may need to wait for the film to be sure. TMJ is beyond atrocious, though, and it seems like we just have given up on Shenault.
  24. IMO, the offense is such a huge problem from a coaching perspective because we our HC is probably too involved on that side of the ball. Reich needs to step back imo from play calling etc
  25. We're also down starters... and lost like 4 more in the middle of the game, which is even worse. Agree on TMJ... dude just has quit.
