  1. Kipers first couple mocks seem based on agents giving him cash to promote their player
  2. Sometimes fans disagree on the meaning of game manager. For some people it means someone who doesn't have the ability to take over a whole game and dominate it entirely, regardless of their play style, such that they're the contrast to a franchise player that you expect to do those things. For others it means someone that plays a limited style of offense where the primary goal is to avoid turnovers no matter what, limiting deep throws etc., Basically not a gunslinger. Times in his career Jake did just manage games. Other times, though, he was a gunslinger tossing the ball up and down the field. So, eh, I dunno. I'd never call him a game manager on the whole personally but the term is just used different by different folks.
  3. I think we (as fans) can say Darnold has significantly elevated his play and was quite above average to very good the last few games (depending on the game)... And STILL think he isn't the answer at QB. I want a franchise guy we build around due to his ability in crunch time to win the game.
  4. Traditional and advanced stats all say this is a different Darnold, but he's still unable to lead the team to a win when it's all on his shoulders
  5. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/35385319/damar-hamlin-injury-most-important-part-bills-safety-story I'm pretty hard on ESPN but there's some very touching stories about Hamlin in this article. Overall I've appreciated their coverage of what happened quite a bit.
  6. He was for TB, don't you think? And no, but that's because I don't believe "once a SB winner, always a SB winner."
  7. Lol this is a statement that leaves the door wide fuging open for him to go. He's just covering his ass so people don't decommit yet in case he doesn't get the job.
  8. No way. The precedent that sets is beyond awful
  9. I believe it has happened to high school kids playing lacrosse too
  10. Not a medical doctor but I do think cpr for that long a time can itself cause some damage, plus all of the other complications you mentioned... Aka I don't think we should assume we were wrong about what happened yet. Been a long time since I took a CPR class though. One of the doctors on the forum will know more, I'm sure.
  11. He wasn't doing anything unusual or wrong. There are plays we sometimes might feel were deliberate to hurt someone... This was nothing at all like that. Even without the dumbasses blaming him I am sure he would feel guilty, as I think any sane human would. But he did nothing wrong at all.
  12. If he'd kept at the pace he has with Sam these last few games he'd have 14 TDs on the year. That isn't bad.
  13. And that's with our motley crew of misfit QBs... He and Darnold finally have chemistry after how long?
  14. How'd you know USC was in LA if you didn't know there was one in Cali?
  15. Sorry, but I didn't even know the university of south Carolina existed when I first learned about USC...
  16. This is not a vindication of the NFL in any way. Actually makes Vincent out to be at best uninformed. I would be fine if they came out and said they didn't act to change protocol immediately and so teams were told 5 minutes but never forced into it... but they will be changing rules about protocol in the future so there's no question on the 5 minute resumption again
  17. so you're suggesting we force a coach that is suing someone over being forced to tank.... to tank?
  18. so, how are you convincing Wilks to plan for next year when every single game and how the team performs will need to be part of his interview? I suppose he could argue "I deliberately threw the last game to get us slightly better draft position"...
  19. Maybe but I expect Wilks to do everything in his power to win this game... And we know that is less likely on Darnold's back than on Foreman's
  20. I'm not sure I'll want him back if he returns to "awful". I'm expecting a game more like his first few games here - lots of running game, limited passing.
  21. I posted a similar breakdown but one thing to keep in mind is that's assuming he plays at this level across a season. I like him a lot as a backup/ bridge and I am skeptical of that.
  22. I mean he went to the SB and NFC championship 2x... You don't do that by not being able to win. Not to mention his QBs at the time, lol.
  23. This is why it might take a few minutes to filter decisions out ,but it took 30 minutes. Stadiums, I guarantee, have orderly 'evacuation' and exit plans in place. This was not that. I appreciate trying to give the NFL the benefit of the doubt, but IF their slow official response is justified it is more that they did not want to interrupt the teams to confirm they wanted to postpone indefinitely in their lockerrooms while they were having personal discussions on what happened. But I think the coaches told the officials the players weren't going back out on the field and at that point the NFL could have made the call.
