  1. Our defense did have to contend with an offense scoring more points for the opponents than they scored themselves (hyperbole but...). They also had to contend with terrible field position. I've not checked in at the end of the season but we had a great third down defense and a good yards per play defense overall. My thing with Evero is how he managed to patch massive holes with poor parts.
  2. Could you imagine this place if Brown gets a HC job.... And actually does well? Haha. I mean it isn't gonna happen yet but still.
  3. A rare trade that worked out very well for both teams.
  4. Nah, the kid's just good at video games. Practice makes perfect. Stroud was too busy practicing on the field.
  5. And he went 4-12 this year. The AFC East was not very good in 2021 or 2022 lol. Buffalo has been consistent but Miami has really been streaky and inconsistent. Definitely better than the South in 2022 and 2023 but we're still talking a bad division. I don't think Belichick does any better with Ritter. Hell Jones was a better QB...
  6. Dude hasn't had much success at QB since Brady. Great coach but even a great coach needs at least a good QB to be competitive. Falcons lack that...
  7. It really doesn't matter what Fitterer did. If he wasn't terrible at his job, he'd still be GM. Reich, maybe you can argue that his lack of success was ownership related. Fitterer appears to just suck.
  8. Has no-one interviewed Vrabel yet...? That seems odd, he seems like one of the strongest candidates among the "veteran" coaches, if not the strongest, save for Harbaugh IMO.
  9. I do think Tepper's recent history, the lack of a first round pick, and likely having to deal with a bust at QB for one year is weighing us down, but the money Tepper is willing to spend can be attractive. If he can guarantee coaches he's going to do things differently this year with how he interacts with the staff then I think this job could be more attractive than it seems, especially for some guys that may have a local connection, etc. Plus even being least attractive is still quite attractive.
  10. Could be - could not be. It does seem the direction Tepper wants to go, for better or worse. We'll see.
  11. Hindsight is always 20/20, sure, but keeping Fitterer was definitely a mistake. At the time I was willing to give him a chance and that was the incorrect move. I think some of us thought his FA acquisitions maybe were good and that his wheeling and dealing was exciting, and that there was a chance that people like TMJ would pan out. fug do his drafts look atrocious now, and while we're lucky to have Luvu, we're probably going to let him walk chasing a contract for Brian "what do you expect me to do, tackle a running back?" Burns
  12. I'm significantly less worried about some other largely successful team's purportedly dysfunctional front office six years ago than I am about the total absence of talent on our roster.
  13. how do you figure a GM / front office person has anything to do with that...? the Eagles have a stacked roster, talent-wise.
  14. He has an argument for having the best rookie QB season of all time. Dak also is in that argument but was on a good offense on a team one season removed from a 12-4 record.
  15. Stroud had a couple of bad games but was sacked 3, 4, and 5 times in the three games before the Jets game and still threw a total of 900 yards with 6 total TDs... Stroud was hit very frequently and still performed. Let's not act like he had some godly OL.
  16. Meh, embracing the suck didn't matter at all... We had a generational qb right in front of us after the trade. Oh well.
  17. Good thing Tepper looks like he wants to assemble the rest of the next HCs staff...
  18. People have said the same exact thing about Chark, TMJ, etc. remember the offseason posts about how TMJ had like the highest average yards per catch over some period? The point is Nico didn't break out until Stroud...
  19. Nobody would have mistaken Nico Collins for a true difference maker before Stroud... Before the season started plenty of people thought our weapons were better than theres...
  20. The irony of the OSU qb argument being more true for most of the recent Bama QBs is not lost on me. Hurts isn't a flop and neither is Tua. The question is if either can play at a high enough level consistently to push their team over the top. I suspect Hurts can, but I don't think Tua can.
  21. I just hope that Young either makes a massive leap forward or he continues playing this poorly. Worst thing that can happen is a few games of good play but nothing great to move us out of range for another QB pick in 2025
  22. Stroud is looking generational. If we're lucky, BY becomes a passable to good starter.
  23. Get the right QB and coach things legit turn overnight.
  24. ... A QB that can deliver the ball ... When defenses need to cover the whole field it also opens things up for receivers.
  25. Superstar QBs make everyone look better. That Texans roster was really bad until he got there. CJs just that good.
