  1. TBF Houston stumbled into their draft picks by needing to trade Watson - they tried very hard not to, he just forced his way out. As to our drafts, it wasn't a home run this year but could still turn out. Last year is looking OK. But when you give up what we did for a draft pick, if that draft pick isn't immediately transcendent, you set the roster back, and while we seem to be drafting role players well we need breakout stars and that hasn't happened. Hopefully Young turns it around sooner than later...
  2. Lions just shot themselves in the foot
  3. I mean they missed a personal foul on Goff earlier so eh
  4. At least you can't penalize if a defender is clearly easing up etc... just such bullshit to penalize players like that. Mahomes is clearly manipulating refs too (see the sideline slow up to try to draw a late hit penalty). He's an incredible QB and he wins regardless but it really annoys me.
  5. Yeah. It's missing the context of his scrambling in the middle of defenders. I don't think it's fair to "slide" like that, and then for defenders that aren't even trying to hit him to barely graze him....
  6. Mahomes is so good I'm sure he's winning today regardless. But the penalties, the terrible spots of the ball, etc... it's all just very strange and seems quite one sided.
  7. This is bullshit. Especially the second penalty. The defenders both went high and hit each other, and it was after Mahomes just drops mid scramble with defenders around him.
  8. I came in liking both teams enough to be happy whomever wins and now I want the Chiefs to lose because these calls are so terrible... And the ball placements are SO suspect lol
  9. Good god, someone needs to check these refs bank accounts. This is obscene
  10. While he's nothing like Goff, he clearly has some arm strength limitations. However, I think fans overrate arm strength by a poo ton. I don't think Young's arm strength is a problem for the offense. What a lot of fans don't realize is how much of "arm strength" they care about - velocity and distance - is as much footwork as anything.
  11. Our screen game is completely abysmal, lol. Overall Sanders and Coker were decent with YAC but everyone else, including our RBs, were terrible. I think a large part of the YAC stats for WRs have to do with the kind of routes our guys run (depth of target is pretty high) and that the balls aren't thrown with the highest velocity. But AT is also just not a great YAC receiver, and it didn't really feel like we tried to get our speedier / more elusive receivers in on screens etc (Thompson or even Coker). I also think our WRs blocking near the los was VERY hit or miss.
  12. I think he had some VERY bad games, mixed with some good ones.
  13. 500+ yards and 3 TDs in five games without Chase at least puts to rest the elite WR thing. Drake Maye is looking very good too.
  14. It's why they benched him after 2 games. If your highly drafted QB is lighting it up in practice but struggling game day you find a way to work it out. He sucked everywhere. His turnaround has been miraculous and if he actually makes himself a long term, quality starter, it's gonna be incredibly fortunate for us.
  15. These were linked in the offseason post by CarolinaLivin from https://x.com/ThomasWrrld/status/1879297978311364802?t=CGzOpHv6_zl4XbAHxdlMVA&s=19 but I think they deserve their own thread... Obviously PFF is what it is and we all love it when we agree and think it's bullshit when we don't, lol. But about what I'd expect. AT the star of the offense and 30th ranked receiver overall. Coker not far behind matches the eye test. I think Hubbard is better than his ranking by a little but with no real backup he's gonna get some wear and tear.
  16. There will always be injuries so we need more O depth. For the O specifically, I'm less about getting that coveted #1 receiver and more about adding more depth to the offense... We basically need depth everywhere, and we're likely losing some in FA already.
  17. Yup. The D had a brief period of respectability vs NO, NYG, KC, and PHI. But even there they couldn't stop KC when it mattered most or hold the Bucs after Chuba's fumble. Bryce HAD to have the ball last for us to have a chance to win basically.
  18. I miss Luvu, haha. Chinn too, but really we hadn't used him well since his rookie year.
  19. There's no reason to use "the 10 best" for every player, because these are just stats after his benching - they don't reflect an arbitrary sample of Bryce's ten best games. We'll be able to do a better comparison next year, when he hopefully plays a whole season. You could compare him to the last 10 games for every QB, but I'm not going to spend the time to do that. There is a site that shows the last 5, and over those, Bryce's 2.6 TD/g is good for 8th while his ~230 total yards is good for like 18th. I value scoring much more than I do yardage tbh. But 5 games - hell 10 games - isn't really enough for much. I think there's a lot of us that are cautiously optimistic, but aren't at all sold. I think a lot of us also see the last few months as better than you do, too, but not necessarily indicative of anything much for his career - but we're allowed to disagree. You're right some are using the games to confirm pre draft position but I think most of the consistent posters are just cautiously optimistic.
  20. I mean all this is why a lot of us are still skeptical he'll be a long term answer at QB. But, he's managed to make a lot of difficult throws into tight windows. His yardage is low, yes, but his productivity overall is pretty good. Long term, what will it be like? That's what we'll have to see.
  21. From what I understand, drops can count as 'big time throws' if they are considered a real drop (as opposed to a Panthers Fan Drop, which is "the receiver had his fingertips on it and should have caught it, DROP")
  22. Haha good lord, dude. You just wrote an essay, largely off the false premise I somehow think Bryce and Goff are equal. You're the one that claimed, incorrectly, Bryce was below average over the last 10 games. When I pointed out that he's above average in TDs scored, below average in passing yards but competitive in total yards, you moved the goal posts, because you were wrong. I never said Bryce was "pretty close" to Goff. Why would I? Goff is having a great season. The only area Bryce beats him in is rushing, and while that's nice and all lol, Bryce isn't the QB Goff is. But, at this point, not many are. Congrats on finding one of the QBs that is averaging more than 2 TDs a game! There are a few more, even!
  23. Bryce had 20 total TDs in 10 games. You can dice up those 10 games all you want, it doesn't matter. He had 20 TDs in 10 games. Are you going to go remove the best game from every QBs years for comparison, or just Bryce Young's? Bryce scored 2 TDs in 5 of his last 6 games... We want to talk yards, sure. All good. He was pretty much average there, or slightly below. I mean, I can look up the QBs with 2 or more TDs per game since suddenly you're so reluctant to...
  24. How many QBs averaged 2 or more TDs per game? Edit: I'm not going to compare Bryce to Allen or Hurts, lol, wtf. The dude has gone from awful to in aggregate average, with some bright spots. Doesn't mean I think he's a top 5 starter, Jesus.
  25. He wasn't in aggregate below average. The NFL average was about 215 yards/game on 32ish attempts per game, with about 1.5 TDs per game. Bryce is pretty close to that - slightly low on yards, at that on TDs, and that's before you including his rushing (where he ends up over in both). He had the 5th most rushing TDs of any QB this year, despite his low attempts and fewer games. His 2 TDs/game puts him quite far above the average. There's no reason to remove his best game in several categories unless you also did it to his worst, when comparing him to the average. If we throw in his other games from before the benching, tho, he's below the average by quite a bit.
