  1. Mixed feelings here... I think if he doesn't get a HC spot this year but he gets more pieces on D and a 2nd year with Brown, Luvu, Horn, etc I could see him having an incredible defense and I think that gets him a HC spot. If he wants to leave he should be allowed to, but 3 teams in 3 years is rough. Edit: 100% honest I would rather have had Evero. I don't give a poo about fixing Bryce, I mean it's a nice idea but I'd rather go with the guy that has proven he can maximize from guys with talent.... Evero... But that's neither here nor there anymore and hopefully canales.does well
  2. Damn... Good luck to him there if he lands it. He's made the most out of a bad situation for sure.
  3. This was huge. Tabor is a good special teams coach but was always going to be Teppers coach, not Canales'...
  4. Oooh I thought you meant 2 more seasons. He'll definitely get a chance this coming season, as he should, but he's gonna need to have a major uptick for us to really count on him I'd think.
  5. Several breakdowns through the season asked to the possibility Bryce was missing open guys cause of his height, especially if the pocket wasn't pristine
  6. Rhule was exciting in how different he was from Rivera. Ugh. Reich was.... Well, I was excited that he could put together a staff I guess. My excitement was very low there. I just... Don't care anymore. We didn't even finish our interviews again... I just hope this year's charmer is actually good.
  7. No way. If we get another season like last year we move on with a new young QB the following season. Hell I don't think Bryce survives a full season of play like he showed this year. Yuck.
  8. I don't recall this at all. My memory is Dalton's big criticism was arm strength/talent not being ideal (along with height and athleticism).... just the first couple google hits... not chosen cause I value them ... https://bleacherreport.com/articles/643144-andy-dalton-2011-nfl-draft-scouting-report "There are questions about his ability to push the ball up-field. He threw passes of 60 yards in the air during pro day, but this was in shorts and without wind. Dalton will not be a big-arm quarterback in a vertical system. He has the arm strength to throw go routes and out patterns but relies more on timing to make his throws. The ball will float down the seam too often." https://walterfootball.com/scoutingreport2011adalton_greg.php "Player Comparison: Chase Daniel. I have seen Dalton compared to Drew Brees, but at this point, a more realistic comparison is to another player on the New Orleans depth chart. Like Daniel, Dalton lacks ideal height and arm strength, but is an accurate passer. Both played in a shotgun offense at the collegiate level. Daniel was not drafted, but he lacked the “it” factor and perhaps some of that was absorbing losses against stiffer competition in the Big XII." https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/bucky-brooks-scouting-report-on-andy-dalton Bucky Brooks: "... Despite displaying B/B-plus arm talent/arm strength..." Dalton was not considered to have a strong arm strength, but "good" arm strength. In fact, this is the same category Bryce falls into...
  9. Oh I have no doubt we're the only ones that wanted Canales. I just don't believe he's the only dude we could get. Ultimately, Tepper likes to outsmart the league (lol), and I think that's again what he is trying to do here.
  10. I don't agree that Dan Morgan is only here cause nobody else wanted to be. I also doubt that is true of Canales. The one thing we know about Tepper is how fixated he becomes on people... He has a habit of making decisions before interviews are complete, it feels. Anyway, whatever. Hard to be excited about this.
  11. Meh, I don't know poo about football in the end relative to many, but I just don't care about this hire. Calling myself underwhelmed is itself an understatement
  12. Stroud was hit a ton too, hurried often... I dunno I think people think HOU had some godly OL
  13. Good for him, hopefully he does well at it.
  14. I'm honestly not that impressed with Canales, but eh, it is what it is. Evero honestly seems to really work magic with units with a lot of holes, but I dunno how he'd fare as HC. I think he'd get the most of out his players, though.
  15. Our defense did have to contend with an offense scoring more points for the opponents than they scored themselves (hyperbole but...). They also had to contend with terrible field position. I've not checked in at the end of the season but we had a great third down defense and a good yards per play defense overall. My thing with Evero is how he managed to patch massive holes with poor parts.
  16. Could you imagine this place if Brown gets a HC job.... And actually does well? Haha. I mean it isn't gonna happen yet but still.
  17. A rare trade that worked out very well for both teams.
  18. Nah, the kid's just good at video games. Practice makes perfect. Stroud was too busy practicing on the field.
  19. And he went 4-12 this year. The AFC East was not very good in 2021 or 2022 lol. Buffalo has been consistent but Miami has really been streaky and inconsistent. Definitely better than the South in 2022 and 2023 but we're still talking a bad division. I don't think Belichick does any better with Ritter. Hell Jones was a better QB...
  20. Dude hasn't had much success at QB since Brady. Great coach but even a great coach needs at least a good QB to be competitive. Falcons lack that...
  21. It really doesn't matter what Fitterer did. If he wasn't terrible at his job, he'd still be GM. Reich, maybe you can argue that his lack of success was ownership related. Fitterer appears to just suck.
  22. Has no-one interviewed Vrabel yet...? That seems odd, he seems like one of the strongest candidates among the "veteran" coaches, if not the strongest, save for Harbaugh IMO.
  23. I do think Tepper's recent history, the lack of a first round pick, and likely having to deal with a bust at QB for one year is weighing us down, but the money Tepper is willing to spend can be attractive. If he can guarantee coaches he's going to do things differently this year with how he interacts with the staff then I think this job could be more attractive than it seems, especially for some guys that may have a local connection, etc. Plus even being least attractive is still quite attractive.
  24. Could be - could not be. It does seem the direction Tepper wants to go, for better or worse. We'll see.
  25. Hindsight is always 20/20, sure, but keeping Fitterer was definitely a mistake. At the time I was willing to give him a chance and that was the incorrect move. I think some of us thought his FA acquisitions maybe were good and that his wheeling and dealing was exciting, and that there was a chance that people like TMJ would pan out. fug do his drafts look atrocious now, and while we're lucky to have Luvu, we're probably going to let him walk chasing a contract for Brian "what do you expect me to do, tackle a running back?" Burns
