I don't know how you can complain about someone commenting about our QB drafting strategy in response to not taking Fields. -

they are definitely better against the run than the last few teams we've played, too. They seem to lack depth in the secondary but that isn't easy for us to take advantage of it seems -

now why would anyone talk about our starting QB in a gameday thread? -

Fields is terrible but fun to watch. Bryce is a better player, though not sure by much, but way less fun to watch. -

... I do not think you are remembering Brees correctly. He never had a cannon but he had far fewer floaters. -

the super computer has calculated the optimum strength and trajectory to reach a point on the field. it is not the super computer's fault that his receivers can't catch anything anywhere near them. beep bop booop -

Im not watching today's game but I believe you guys. What boggles the mind is how whenever we point this out we get the 'experts' pointing out how he obviously can and the problem is... something else. -

well based on those last few posts guess I got my answer on how Bryce is actually looking today. was hoping he'd be able to take advantage of open players like last week... Dunno why I keep being fooled into some degree of hope that he'll play consistently -

can't watch the actual game today, travelling... Is Bryce looking as bad as the NFL gameday thing makes it seem? -
Greg Cosell: Bryce Young is a complimentary piece
mav1234 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agree with your premise basically completely, though I might move some people around - especially the vets at the end... Goff and Mayfield look like centerpiece players now, and Darnold I'd say is around the top of the complimentary. Daniel Jones is still unknown. -
Yup exactly. Our young players on D are going to need to really step up. The good thing is our safeties are pretty good vs the run.
-
Those Bryce haters always derailing posts, amirite? Anyway, this hugely increases our chances but Fields is precisely the kind of QB we could have trouble with, and the Jets have a defense that could give us trouble. If they lean into stopping the run - which they probably will - we will need TMac and Bryce to step it up to get a win. I think the Jets are better than their record but still not very good. Then again, nor are we, lol
-
This is a perspective I agree with.
-
200+ yards won't be a thing and we do need to be conscious of managing Rico's workload against better defenses, but I think we have it in us to put up some decent numbers this week. I do expect Rico to have his third straight 100+ yard game. We are just blocking really well.
-
To focus back on this - it is explicitly the case that if you think Bryce will improve in the future regardless of the circumstances (better team / coaching / development) you are also predicting the future. I still maintain the only difference between so called haters and stans is just how much they think Bryce could realistically improve based on existing play. I do think if we reframed all these discussions into "have you seen enough to give him a 5th year extension already" you'd find near complete agreement from fans lol
-
Are you 100% certain this is the narrative you want to go with? That people were talking poo about Bryce in the thread? Who brought up Bryce here? Who started trolling first? Nobody had said anything negative about Bryce and in fact agreed with you that he appeared better than JJ! Then you had to go and start trolling fans about Stroud for obvious reasons.
-
Dude. I like you and respect your contributions. But you went into a thread to randomly bitch about Stroud in a way to compare to Bryce. "Both sides" do it. And sometimes "haters" will say something like "x or y does well in spite of circumstances" and people jump in defending Bryce when his name isn't even used. Whether or not it is equal in trolling it is very clear both sides are doing it.
-
So, objectively, you'd say from a holistic review of Rico's performance and the team overall there were at least a dozen players on the team that performed at least as well if not better in their roles?
-
There are also posters that go into every thread period and bring up Bryce Young somehow in a positive light, regardless of context, quite often to knock other players (sometimes not even on our team). And we had a game day thread where every three posts someone would go "if only Bryce Young had made that tackle" or some crap.
