Back in the day he was my favorite player. I don't really know why - I think I just appreciated his approach to the game. Great to hear he's doing well in retirement, I know that isn't always the case.

The defense can't be all superstars and he's definitely stepping up. He takes bad angles sometimes but he's improved - still hope to upgrade his slot in the offseason, but he's making a solid case that we can prioritize other positions

I don't think we're coddling him but I do think we went into the season overconfident in him and his ability to never get injured at all. We definitely need a better QB room next year.

Just like you could find random idiots (racists usually but ... ) that thought Derek Anderson should start over cam, you can find any number of stupid takes. That post was in a thread by a poster that does not have such takes, which had other non stupid posters that are all considered not to be fans of Bryce. So do you think it's unreasonable to assume that post was about the posters in this thread? I think you're being overly charitable in your interpretation is all. Anyway this isn't really going anywhere... You and I mostly agree honestly about Bryce (as do most of the so-called haters).

I mean the post quite clearly stated that we expect a QB to be an all time great and expect them to be easily attainable and neither of those things are true of those of us skeptical of Bryce's ability to put it together. I don't think I'm conflating my opinion with others save the multitude of posters (many of whom are posting in this thread) that are wanting to move on from Bryce. Many of the options thrown out are absolutely not that level.

All of this sounds funny until you look at Love's numbers and passing charts... The people who are unhappy with Bryce generally are harping on wanting the kind of passes love is throwing. Half his passes were 10 yards or longer and almost a third more than 20 yards. I do think that broadly some fans do not realize just how down passing is. The pendulum is swinging to a different type of game. But Bryce is still waaaaay under expectations even considering that. However he's had some great games in the last couple weeks (and one huge stinker) so hopefully he's gonna be able to put it together for a playoff push.

You sure give a lot of room to certain posters hyperbole and not others, lol. You are reading a ton into a post to excuse a poster that posted the exact thing you said you hadn't seen. I don't care what motivates the guy to think "the haters" won't be happy unless we have a superstar when were talking about teams actual cast offs to start next year as options. There's virtually no one suggesting we rank right now (the other assertion in that post). I don't think it's worth diving in to all of the rest but I will say that virtually none of us are expecting whomever is our QB to be Cam or Mahomes but we'd like them to be consistently good and not consistently hurt the team... And... CJ Stroud compared to Cam? One of his knocks was that he hardly ever was willing to run. And he's not built anything like him.

Yes in fact in this thread on page 3, someone said some of us won't be happy unless we have Mahomes or Cam... My point by bringing up stats is actually that most of us DON'T care about having a QB that is throwing tons of yards, we care about having a QB that can move the ball, but Bryce is unable to do anything consistently. I'm glad you agree we should move on from Bryce - I also don't care about stats specifically but I think they give context to just how inconsistent he's been, which imo does matter.
