In this division, yes I do. There's probably 10-15 QBs that could. I think we'd get bounced immediately due to our terrible defense though lol Edit: I'd say have us in contention late in the season, rather than having us comfortable in. I still think we'd need to go thru the division rather than a WC which is easier but would probably still be questionable right now.

We aren't ignoring it. We also aren't ignoring the Dallas game, the start of this year, or all of last last year. He won himself a spot on the roster next year and being the presumptive QB1 going into camp. That counts for a lot given where he was.

Are you saying Mahomes has questionable arm strength? Because that's nuts. Saying he doesn't have Allen's arm strength may be technically true but you're still talking about one of the strongest armed guys in the NFL. The idea he doesn't have elite arm talent is wildly inaccurate.

I'm not sure why people care so much about what we traded for him. Past is the past. Only question to me is if he can be that QB that gets us back into the playoffs and further. I'm not sure he is, but he's played well enough he'll keep getting a chance to prove that.

Canales is absolutely operating within the limitations of his players, whether Bryce or receivers. It did seem that with Dalton the game plan had more verticality.

Once Conner went down our D had a chance. We also had changed our scheme clearly to go after the run more, so maybe we woulda controlled him... But I doubt it, heh. We still had a couple of great drives in the 2nd and while one was all Chuba the other was all Bryce, so that felt good to watch. Still like you said, didn't feel like we were asking him to do too much.

We have one of the most expensive OLs in football, a very good running back, one of the best security blanket WRs in the league, and invested almost our entire draft in BY last year by going very heavy offense. We still need another WR but we can't afford to ignore defense any longer to get BY the tools he apparently needs. Maybe in future years

So I generally agree with you but I would say he basically did put is in position to beat the Eagles... That drop wasn't on him.

I said this before but I've felt since the Eagles game we've been having trouble with our intermediate/deep passing game, where it was one of his stronger areas vs KC and TB. I don't know if this is the schemes we've faced or if it's Bryce, but I saw several times he didn't seem to throw to open guys. Maybe on the film those guys weren't actually so open. His PFF grade is a little higher than I expected but not too much. It's deliberated calculated without regard to things like how failing to ice a game sends it to OT. Hoping the last couple games bring consistency. It's great having a QB that can get into the 90s in any kinda stat. As long as he keeps that Dallas game an anomaly since his return, it'll be a solid finish.

If the wheels had come off / the Cowboys game had been a return to bad, and we'd lost out to the point we could draft Sanders or Ward, maybe, but we need defense no matter what and frankly we'll be in a good position for it this draft. Bryce has played us out of a different QB. QB isn't our biggest need for once, but there's still a question mark on long term. We'll see how he does next year, hopefully with some competition in camp, ideally with an improved defense.

Didn't try many deep but got most of those he did

Young isn't great but nor are basically any of the dudes you highlighted... I mean... Wentz? Garopollo? This isn't 2017... This offense put up 36 with BY, lol. We need a competition in our QB room but let's not be nutty here.

Thielen dropped one.

So Kyler Murray gets praised as the best little QB...

I agree with you. My concern was that the Dallas game was indicating a return to form... He bounced back well today. I'm looking forward to a competition next year. He hasn't cost us many games since coming back from the benching. And a couple of them, he put is in position to win. Today was more about Chuba imo but Bryce played a key role. -

He was in the top half of the league in some categories during that stretch but not after the Dallas game. -
Holy crap Drake Maye just has NOBODY lol
-
He definitely did
-
He's turned into quite a gunslinger
-
Good lord dude, lol. We all want him to succeed but throwing down isn't gonna help him at all
-
Sam Darnold taking huge hits and delivering dimes, wow. Meanwhile Seahawks attempting a 60 yard field goal and we can't even make our extra points lol.

The Moore TD was also a beautiful throw. Not as Deep as the Thielen drop, but still. -

That was a beautiful pass.. thielen is so reliable tho it's hard to blame him too much for that one. -
The answer to what, exactly? I'm happy for him and the team. He played pretty well overall. And a 3TD day should always be celebrated. I'm still of the mind we need some competition in camp for him next year.

OFFiCIAL Panthers vs Cardinals GameDay thread
mav1234 replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I mean, dude had 3 TDs. But he failed to ice the game in regulation. He missed some open receivers but had a few great throws. Either way, he didn't unravel completely after last week which I think is a major win. He'll have competition in the QB room next year and the team will be better for it.
