He basically had one good game as a pro and then disappeared it looks like. This is a decent gamble, although honestly pretty minor for a 3rd. I kinda would have preferred spending some cash on Sherman but hard to argue CJs potential.
-
Great find. He played well that game...
-
I love DJax but this seals his fate, assuming Henderson plays well. I just don't think we can prioritize paying him the money he deserves. OL really needs to be a priority we spend big on too.

I wonder if Carolina is where he'll want to be... Hopefully Rhule gets him to buy in.

An old friend of ours got injured last night

Spitting up blood??? Glad he's apparently okay. I didn't have sound on for the game and didnt even realize he'd left injured. Ugh. -
Yup. We are using our picks on young talent. Just young talent for a draft a year ago.
-
Sure seems it. This doesn't seem to make sense on their part unless the young man is Extremely unhappy.
-
Is this an Urban Meyer effect, or did they indicate it was true last year too?

Dave Gettleman, Ronald Rivera and Marty Hurney are 1-6

1-6, eh? You sure about that? -
Just basically dismissed our 3-0 start and commented how much harder it's going to get for us now.

The slobbering over Mac Jones early in their game vs the Saints made me turn it off.
-
I love watching young QBs. Agreed there. And on the definitely-not-young-qbs side, I'll be watching or at least following TB vs LAR. Should be a good game.

CMC Injury Update: "Less than grade 1" hamstring strain
mav1234 replied to shaka's topic in Carolina Panthers
Week 2 made me a believer in the D. Losing Horn is rough but I think we find a way to still be a dominant unit. Darnold's 2nd half this week showed me he and the offense may be further than I hoped... I didn't expect him to command a half like he did this early. Thought he'd need to be brought along slower. Trying to temper my excitement since it's only 3 games but damn. -
Yup

Speak for yourself. I'm excited by what he's done so far but I expect he'll have a setback or two. As to TDs in the red zone, we've had this problem for years and at least the last couple weeks we've done decently well of at least scoring in the red zone. I don't care if we run it in or pass it as long as we get those scores.
-
Honestly, Reddick and Burns are just that good... I dunno if I'd trade a first for Tunsil, especially since we already lack our 2nd and I'm not sure the nature of his contract etc, but it's not because he got beat a few times by our DL. Our defense is elite.

I'm pretty sure both CMC and Horns injuries are due to new field
mav1234 replied to Snake's topic in Carolina Panthers
I doubt it. Studies do suggest turf causes more injuries than grass, but the injuries happened in Houston. So... I doubt it. -
I think we are seeing Darnold grow in chemistry with DJ and some other receivers so I wouldn't be surprised if he is hitting those by end of year.
-
Had to rewind to get to what you were referring to, was a bit confused (I'm slow and on mobile hahaha). Good listen tho. It does feel like they are bringing Darnold along the right way. Its a testament to Darnold and to the org that he appears to have turned things around in a very big way. Every week we see improvement.
-
This isn't true. He was getting the ball to an outlet quickly when downfield throws aren't open often, but 2nd half was different there.
-
Are they saying that Darnold... Laid the scheme? Or that he hatched from the scheme?! Ahhhhhhhhhh! Which came first damn it, Darnold or the scheme...
-
Rhule does not throw players under the bus and most of what he says is to motivate guys. I do not believe anyone is satisfied with our OL.
-
Stew missed a big part of 2 seasons, and Dwill missed almost all of 1... But both their careers were likely lengthened by having em both.
-
He may have wanted to start someplace.
-
Fair enough. It felt like a critique he wasn't seeing the field enough. I agree that he was being coached to take what defenses give him... the offense is predicated on short timing routes that include the RB... So it does make sense.
