  1. Nothing would make me happier than to be as wrong about him as I was Cam. Of course, Cam showed how wrong I was ... basically week 1. I'm happy waiting 2 years to be proven wrong on Bryce if that is what it takes, lol.
  2. I mean, that isn't surprising. When you throw close to or behind the line of scrimmage, it's very unlikely to be interceptable. Bryce Young is only 30th out of 34 for intended air yards per attempt (https://pro-football-reference.com/years/2023/passing_advanced.htm). It could get worse! But, in that stat, he is actually ahead of Geno Smith, Dak Prescott, and Joe Burrow, so... What use does it have? Perhaps not a ton. Of course, Andy Dalton is at 8.2, good for 9th in the league, and ahead of CJ, Cousins, Allen, Mahomes... Bryce is tied for worst in the league in completed air yards per attempt, too. I don't think those stats are all on Bryce. It is clear the coaches don't trust him to execute the offense. That's a problem. What exactly is he learning throwing 20 screens a game? Just sit him and let him learn if he is really so far behind he can't come close to executing the offense. I *do not* think his stats indicate his arm talent isn't there... I used to, and I don't think he trusts himself enough to stretch the field, but I don't believe his arm is much worse ,if worse at all, than Dalton's.
  3. Jay Z didn't build Rome in seven years, be patient
  4. It's nice to see two of my favorite Panthers players doing so well. Wish it was on the Panthers...
  5. Definitely GM... And probably HC if we're 0-17. I don't think you can fire Reich Middle of his first season. I really dislike firing coaches after one season in general, but 0-17 is a special sort of failure and I think that warrants wholesale cleaning. On the other hand, if you stick with him and inevitably fire him year 2 mid season, at least you could evaluate Evero for HC. We won't be too hot a destination next year anyway unless BY heats up (in which case we don't go 0-17) since we lack draft capital.
  6. Nice write up - I'm on mobile (android and chrome) and can't seem to view the videos. Do I need some special player?
  7. A pass rusher is more valuable than a WR in a vacuum, but I completely agree with you here. I bet they made Burns untouchable, and now we're going to have to ship him out anyway for less after turning down two trades for him.
  8. Barring something egregious we don't know about, it would send a message to any other candidate how short their leash is and how little room they have. Coaches expect time to get their system going. We see how terrible Reich is, but it won't matter to future candidates
  9. Can't fire a first year coach mid season, so what's he going to do? Reich won't give up play calling.
  10. With any luck we can ditch both of ours soon...
  11. By convincing yourself some shitty test is more important than play on the field.
  12. This is my big concern and fear. And it's not just 40 yard shots where he doesn't seem to drive the ball... Just a lot of concern for his arm strength... but it looked better in college so I'm hoping it's actually hesitancy/confidence that is somehow translating to his ability to drive the ball and with time he'll adjust
  13. Yeah, they appear to be. I do blame Reich for a lot of our offensive struggles (in part because I fundamentally believe the buck stops at the HC, but also cause his play calls blow). I'm not giving up on Young but I think it's acceptable to be skeptical.
  14. Saying it wasn't all negative is true, but many of us were sold on a #1 pick that was a dynamic playmaker. At best, he's been a conservative caretaker (and not a particularly great one at that).
  15. CJ would still be good here, but probably not as good. However, Reich seems the real problem...
  16. Pretty telling that the "you'd all be seeing this differently, then wouldn't you?" Moment is a back of the endzone pass to a TE from the goal line. That's the kind of play I expect a QB to make... not BYs fault it didn't happen, but it doesn't address my bigger concerns with him. Not saying he's a bust but he really looks to have physical limitations on his play. Now if he hits those two long bombs in earlier games? Yes that would. Until he can consistently (as in once or twice a game if not more) punish teams deep, the offense will struggle... deep doesn't even need to be 40+ yards... How many passes did he even attempt that were 20+ yards yesterday?
  17. Perhaps, so stop giving him "kill" plays that are screens. He's not calling totally different plays from what the coaches want.
  18. And that QB was Andy fuging Dalton, who isn't Mr. Armstrength. This is all deeply concerning for the future of this team. At least we don't have to worry about languishing in mediocrity?
  19. It isn't just a BY issue. It felt like every other lass was a screen, which isn't BY refusing to go deep. If the coaches don't trust him to stretch the field, tho, he shouldn't be playing.
  20. I expected the shift to 3-4 would benefit burns... it doesn't seem to have much.
  21. Stroud has had a historic start. How many QBs in that caliber of start didn't pan out? Not saying Bryce is a bust by any means, but Stroud looks like the real deal. He may have a slump at some point but there's no evidence he won't be able to have success long term.
  22. I don't blame Bryce, and don't think we can judge him yet. The coaches are the problem. I may not "be sold" on Bryce yet, but he's a rookie and we aren't helping him
  23. BY isn't ready. But they can't afford not to play him if he's healthy. Reich and Fitterer need him to work out or they lose their jobs. This isn't a playoff team with Dalton anyway.
