  1. That's a TD, come on. fuging refs man - if TDs are auto reviewed why not err on the side of the TD?
  2. I am about putting the best teams in, and if you can't make it to your conference championship game and you're not very high rated, why should you go? What was Texas' rating before the championship game? That tells you about their season.
  3. I don't think you should kick a team out that plays in its championship game if it was highly ranked going into it.
  4. Yup... It's actually insane if SMU misses the playoffs given their ranking last week. It'd be different if you were talking a team ranked right on the bubble going in... But playoffs should be about this season alone and not past glory. SMU should be in.
  5. I do agree on getting open. Getting open isn't all there is to receiving tho. Moore and XL are not catching the balls they should. XL is still learning depth of routes in the red zone. It's why we do move the ball well but have some red zone issues still. Honestly tho this is a much better group than last year - with imo much better coaching. And Sanders and Coker are to me very promising from a young player perspective. XL too, but he's a bit more raw seeming.
  6. Sanders is leading NFL next gen stats separation metrics right now.
  7. Good lord. I remember hoping we could convince him to re sign with us. Thankfully I'm sitting on a cell phone instead of making decisions for this team.
  8. I don't think Jameis Winston fits an offensive scheme built to Bryce the way Dalton does. Winston is a gunslinger in every sense. He's better as a backup for someone like Josh Allen imo (but then the turnovers....)
  9. I love Winston as a backup on a bad team. He's fun to watch, win or lose. I don't want him on a good team, though. The turnovers just are not worth it.
  10. I understand the hesitancy. The one reason I'm hopeful is Bryce's biggest improvements have been on deep routes that are very hard to defend and demonstrate a high level of play. A lot of Teddy and Allen's 'high level' play was right at the LoS. But it's only been a few games like you say. We shall see. The good thing is we have a number of games left to evaluate him.
  11. His best games have been against his best opponents over the last 4 games. If he turns in a decent performance vs the Eagles, he'll go a long way to solidifying his starter position longer term. I still think he has some work to do, but it's been exciting.
  12. QB rating doesn't care about interceptions very much as long as there's also TDs. In general, coaches don't see it that way... Or Winston wouldn't be on his third team. Plus over the last 4 games Bryce has an average QB rating of 85 and Jameis has an 80. But imo Jameis has had tougher opponents (and his team has thus score less than us). So... We will see how Bryce goes.
  13. Although I think you're not entirely wrong, I'll say that Bryce has seemed very, very good with comebacks the last few weeks. And nothing ruins a comeback like a turnover - which Winston just loves. He's had like 8 TDs and 8 INTs in the last four games, lol. And 4 of those TDs (and 3 INTs) came in just 1. I just don't think he's a wise player to have as more than a backup, while the jury is now out on Bryce (he got a retrial after a guilty verdict was overturned in appeal, it seems)
  14. Kyle Allen's biggest weakness was he sucked downfield more often than not, and basically lived along the los. Check some of his passing charts. He had a couple bombs and basically everything else was at the LoS. E.g.: Nowadays a third to half of Bryce's passes are 10+ yards, tho he has few over 20 usually.
  15. It's weird to say this, but Kyle Allen never had Bryce's deep ball... At least not when Allen was a Panther
  16. It actually makes sense if his little pentium is half of what it was billed as. The fast reads and throws vs blitzes are one of the reasons I'm so excited about him
  17. Again ability is just... Hard to compare. Success seems premature but we'll see if you're right
  18. Arm strength has always been overrated. But Bryce's arm was also not as bad as it looked last year - he just had terrible mechanics / footwork. He's come a LONG way. Actually, his raw arm strength isn't bad at all, as we see when he's throwing balls on the move. But prior to his benching, he didn't seem to have his mechanics down consistently enough to really drive the ball. As to eating crow, plenty of fans thought the KC game was an anomaly. With a second good game, I'm interested to see if he can make it three in a row - especially against a MUCH tougher opponent. Here's hoping!
  19. Lots of us did, he just looked so lost and mechanically unsound. His mechanics are better but need improvement. He's also making the right read virtually every time. He had a couple bad throws but out of 40? That's really good...
  20. I don't understand this comparison - you couldn't name 2 more different players at the same position than Jameis and Young, and I don't mean that in terms of success or failure in a career. They have wildly different strengths and weaknesses (virtually opposite lol)
  21. Look I like Young's turn around, and find PFFs stats always interesting... But whether it's just one week or not, BY is not the league's actual best deep passer, lol. Yes he's improved on them but this is a bit ridiculous.
  22. If Bryce keeps playing at the level he is, I don't think he's going to need to compete. But I'm expecting a bit of a come down...
  23. I don't know how you can compare a veteran like that to Bryce, a player coming off the best stretch of games in his career. Winston is super entertaining to watch when he's on a different team, because if he isn't throwing touchdowns, he's throwing picks.
