I think this is a big part of it. So, too, is our general weakness on the edge at stopping the run, although that is thankfully improving it seems.

I dunno man I see Brown taking up space making plays and forcing runs outside. Brown has more sacks, more TFL, more tackles than Vea. Vea has 1 more QB hit... Edit: not saying Brown is better but he is producing and imo he is playing an important role in the defense.

Do we have any evidence he would have traded up? Yes, hurney 1.0 loved to trade up but all I'd heard is we wanted Herbert but he didn't fall to us.

So what you're saying is we will franchise him needlessly this year then award him top 5 corner money the next year, after drafting yet another corner in round 1?

I imagine they are... I feel like there must be a team with playoff aspirations this year that could use help at corner... We are stacked there.

For me, it depends on the price. This isn't about long term solution, but best environment for a rookie to become the guy we need... Tyrod is unquestionably an upgrade over Darnold. Barring some major improvement, Darnold shouldn't see the field next year. Tyrod gives us a mentor for a young rookie we think will be the franchise one day. As to Minshew, he would be a potentially very cheap backup option, and as we've seen there is a lot of value in that. I don't see him as some future franchise qb though.

I think the draft a rookie bit was the franchise QB ideally. Tyrod on a rental with a promising rookie sitting behind him learning sounds good to me, but the OL must be fixed too.

You mean if Herbert hadnt been drafted before our pick? Sure. Do we know it'd be any different with a different gm? But Hurney has generally been money in the first.

Snake doesn't bother me. Yeah he just made a bad post but I remember a time when he and the rest of the Huddle had decent posts, so I can get over that. What I can't get over is that the state of this team has turned me into a troll poster.
