All good. Darnold would have been better with better OLs but still no guarantees from him in terms of franchise-level talent... I do think it's ridiculous mismanagement to try to rehab a qb behind the garbage we did but hey the hubris of this staff knows no limits.

Cam? True he sometimes trusted his athleticism tooooo much and gave up sacks, but that was rare, and he sure as fug could read defenses and had an incredible ability to extend plays.

The process isn't about records, it's about the friends Rhule makes (brings with him from Temple and Baylor) along the way.

Tbf I think Darnold (and Carr) had worse lines than Cam had, especially at the critical early years. Cam also is tough as nails and had athleticism that allowed him to avoid sacks those dudes didn't. Sad to think what Cam could have been with a truly great OL.

Dude Darnold is broken. It may be - and I think this - that with a totally new situation and new, good OL the Happy feet could have been cured... But that wasn't the case. It is clear his footwork is atrocious to put it mildly... This isn't about Cam...

Unfortunately, that was a few years ago now. Any coach getting the job now isn't going to want to rely on Cam. It doesn't mean they show him the door immediately... But I bet he is a transition piece at best. I wouldn't have a problem being wrong, just seems likely.

I love Cam but I don't think any offensive minded coach is coming here to build around Cam. They're going to want their own guy etc.

Sam does take personal responsibility tho. It's a total false narrative to say he doesn't. He's done it after every game and he did it after yesterday's. People are drumming up false controversy for who knows what reason. He's not a good QB, but not everything needs to be Cam vs someone else. It isn't Sams fault he sucks imo, he just doesn't have it. It's rhules fault for putting him in a situation he couldn't possibly succeed in - same way it's rhules fault for how cam has been treated the last few weeks.

He's a stronger runner than Abdullah. He could still become a better receiver - he had seemed to improve there but is still lacking. I dunno I think he was a good pick and is performing well for a rookie. Hell, he's picked at the right place for a RB imo.

Offenses are often synergistic.... The reverse us happening for us. The whole is even worse than the sum of its shitty parts.

Despite the claims of some fans Cam has always been among the most professional players I've seen. I don't hold everyone to his standard.

That's a fair perspective too, but he also noted himself in the statement. Darnold has a lot of faults but he seems to take responsibility for his shittiness..

Why is it classless? I think in some ways it shows he sees the offense as not his alone but his and Cams... Which as the 2 QBs, that makes sense... It really isn't a competition at this point. The team is dogshit and the offense blows at all levels.

Eh, why not? They're teammates... I don't think he's trying to talk poo about Cam... I think the illustration was that the offense as a whole regardless of who is QB isnt able to get it done. The OL is such a shitshow it isn't a surprise.

That's very true. I think the hubris of this shitty staff is exemplified by the situation on offense... They just happened to have stumbled into some better players on D (many of whom were here before they were) so the D hides a lot of their ineptitude.

The Darnold trade was not good but I don't hate it. However, we gave him a totally poo line, didn't bring a vet qb presence in, etc etc. You laid it out perfectly why this was so very bad. And the trade looks worse without our 3rd rounder too.

So, is the OL only a problem when Cam starts or...? You guys are funny. Sam sucks, so does our OL. Rhule is garbage.
