  1. Did you just try to compare...eh...nevermind. Even I won't tangle with that logic
  2. NFL players have to consent and agree to be placed on it. They can resist if they want. Hardy believed that was his best option. I'm just stating fact about the list He likely agreed to it bc it secured him a paid vacation instead of facing you know.....punsihment of losing game day checks.
  3. You have to be able to start with that simple question though to really talk about Hardy at this point. Sure it gets much more complicated than a simple question....but people at this point are acting like the NFL has no right to discipline employees unless they have the backing of a court
  4. NFL can fine or suspend you and your name never even be brought up in a court of law. People seem to try to blur the outcome of a court scenario must some how dictate if he has or hasn't done something that his employer deems punishable. They aren't the same
  5. I'll try this one more time.... Can your employer discipline you....if you have not legally been convicted of something? Or charged with a legal crime? Yes or no. Simple question
  6. A long paid vacation you consent to isn't punishment.... Asinine to think? If it was asinine to think Hardy would have already been reinstated and told to keep kraken
  7. Admission of guilt has nothing to do with what we are talking about.... NFL doesn't need that
  8. So your employer can't discipline you for actions unless you are found guilty in a court of law.....which is essentially your arguement. That is disproven everyday, in every profession
  9. Hardy isn't the same. Ray Rice was punished. NFL tried to do it twice. Hardy never had the initial punishment
  10. Again, the NFL can't just put players on the list. It is a mutual thing. Hardy and his agent agreed to be put on the list. They didn't have to be on it
  11. m Second time of what? A rumor? As far as Hardy....prosecutors in court weren't claiming they "thought" the chick agreed to a settlement. The State had reliable info on it. So let's not act like it is some mystery yet to be solved....and she was uncooperative as she toured the country with her settlement money. But it is bed time for me
  12. NFL never could prove Big Ben paid off those girls....and again he never even saw a charge he had to defend
  13. So you know Big Ben paid off girls....despite never being charged with a crime. But with Hardy it is a great unknown? That is pretty selective.... Riley example was simply illustrating there really is no point being fixated on court rulings and legal matters. NFL Code of conduct is what matters on if a player will be punished
  14. McDonald would have had to agree to be on it. So the degree his team was really behind him isn't really known. Leading up to this year, the universal policy was teams really stayed out of stuff until stuff played out.
  15. NFL can't just put you on the list. Hardy was on it bc he agreed to be
  16. What crime was Riley Cooper charged of when Philly disciplined him? What crime was Big Ben charged with when the NFL disciplined him? None of those scenarios are comparbale to each other and none are comparbale to Hardy. What they show is the NFL/teams can and will discipline players and it has nothing to do with the legal system.
  17. But again, the courts determine what does or doesn't happen to Greg in terms of his actual life. NFL doesn't need proof of any that nor does it simply say well we won't punish Greg bc the legal system didn't.
  18. New policy doesn't apply for Hardy. Not that simple. Ray Rice example just laid that foundation
  19. Again, that doesn't matter. NFL doesn't NEED that. NFL doesn't need proof Hardy paid her off and they dont need a court verdict or even a criminal charge A team or NFL can merely say your poor choices that didn't lead you to be guilty or even charged made us look poorly......so now you face X discipline as a result
  20. and the NFLPA doesn't step up and try to stop the discipline of the NFL unless they go to far (beyond what has been agreed upon). NFLPA knows Hardy isn't being punished TWICE. They may step in if NFL tries to punish Hardy under rules made up after his incident. But Hardy can be punished. I agree a union helps. But it doesn't try to stop punishment that they agreed can be done.
  21. Employees aren't exempt from punishment unless they commit a legal crime and are convicted. Just bc some employers have handled things inappropriate doesn't then mean people can't be punished. Employees are punished all the time also....and there is also nothing they can do to stop it (that will work)
  22. Your employer can discipline you even if you are not convicted of a crime....or even charged. NFL certainly can too.
