  1. Jags probably are the most interesting with the easy storylines to push 1. Urban 2. Trevor 3. The Golden Calf of Bristol
  2. it's largely positional for me and not so much about the specific players. And about roles/load. Easier for a spot situation WR to come in and look good vs a starting rookie DB. I think Horn would look much better as a rookie in spot situations where we could just play him to his strengths. The assumption I am going with is he will be a full time starter.
  3. Vet edition: High - Brown Unsure - Darnold Low - Slye Rookie edition (just in terms of the 2021 season and play/impact during their rookie year) High - Marshall Unsure - Horn Low - Christensen
  4. I’ve always thought it was kinda whack to try to adopt that as a Panther thing….given everyone knows another sports franchise made it their thing before us.
  5. and Grier doesn't have wheels. Which I think really helps young QBs who are struggling w/ game speed.
  6. The OG Clipboard Jesus earned 17 million dollars to just chill out with Rivers. It's a probably the greatest gig in the NFL.
  7. So basically, Touchdown Jesus is going to be Clipboard Jesus. I mean, Charlie Whitehurst had a 10 year NFL career. That's a great gig in reality.
  8. but it does kind of unintentionally say something about Grier.
  9. part of Ron's coaching tree. Andy Reid. Tony Dungy. *edited out wrong coach lol.
  10. I think we could of had more success as a team with a better built team around Cam. Would that of extended his career? I don't know. Cam is still Cam. Ron didn't make him that way. He didn't ask him to be that. He just let him be what he was. and the biggest health issue IMO to his career.....is from his shoulder. An injury that he received not as a byproduct of letting Cam be Cam with the ball in his hands.
  11. no disagreeing on the poor job done building around Cam while we had him. But Ron wasn't the HC/GM. He was just the HC. That doesn't all fall on him like it gets put so often.
  12. Jerome Bettis would be wrong too. I mean, IMO, it was a given Cam Newton would have a shortened career given what he was. It was discussed at length when we drafted him. What do you do with him? Let him be Cam or nerf him some to maybe extend his career. I was only in favor of drafting Cam if we allowed him to be special and be Cam. We did that....and it was a lot of fun. Probably the most fun window to ever be a Panther fan.
  13. Different issue. any decent coach is going to let Cam Newton be Cam Newton. How well your team is built doesn't change what Cam is or isn't. Cam's best OL was his 2011 OL. That unit also featured two highly paid first round draft picks at RB... it did go pretty well for Cam. He rewrote the NFL record book on the ground from the QB spot. Because Cam was the clear cut best option in too many scenarios in 2011. He was special. And he was special and the best option almost no matter what your roster looked like. Cam Newton is to this day and IMO all time....the greatest short yardage threat in NFL history. A unicorn we likely never see again.
  14. Cam's ability to do that....is literally what made him special and a part of what made him a franchise QB. Remove that from his game or significantly reduce it....then Cam isn't actually special. And we don't win when we did with him.
  15. I really never get this. Ron allowed Cam to be Cam. Which was the right call IMO. You either allowed Cam to be special or you prevented it to maybe extend his career. What do you think Cam wanted?
  16. at least the lady off camera tried to help Julio out. Think that helped Sharpe realize what he just did.
  17. that was a weird SuperBowl. Some really questionable stuff by refs in that one. Different set of refs and it could of gone the other way. You rarely are going to win when the refs start calling it for the other team. When both teams are good. The Remmers stuff is pretty indefensible though. But doing what we did got us to 17-1....so I could see why the obivous adjustment might be harder for them than us. Especially, when we were getting the looks and some big plays were setting up for us down. We just couldn't get it off.
  18. it is what it is I think if we had a great GM like some orgs? Ron would still be the coach. His teams were very flawed overall in terms of talent. How weak certain spots got. More so than Fox's IMO.
  19. it's not Thomson or Stevens. The two rookies they brought in for rookie camp. Could it be staff helping w/ a drill?
  20. sometimes you just need a couple inches in football not matter what your scheme is. I just view Chuba as CMC relief.
  21. Ron IMO is the best coach we have had to date. Everyone has their own warts and shortcomings. Rhule will have his once we get to know him better too.
  22. I'd like to see a little more diversity in the backfield than we currently have. A bigger back power.
