I don't think anyone is a big fan of it. I generally would scoff at a player attempting to pull this off. I think Watson simply is in position for it to happen. And eventually someone is going to pull this off in the NFL. I just don't see how Watson sitting isn't worse overall (for the owner/team) than trading him. And I have never seen an example where a player doing so would result in that. It is a combo of Watson being Watson and the team being where it is that generate that IMO.

well, his ego also likely will factor in what his franchise will look like if Watson sits.....again, they will make the Jets look like good team. And the Houston fanbase isn't emotionally attached to that team. I don't think an ego maniac is only going to be concerned about beating Watson.....when he already is being accused of ruining his daddy's franchise. Because if Watson sits.....that is the worst case scenario IMO for him. All scenarios clearly suck giants balls for him.

gonna get boo'd if Watson is sitting. key would be he has to have someone for them to cheer for. So the deal to get Watson.....has to set that up. Why I think the CMC option is good to deal. You essentially could sell your fanbase on a new start. Draft a Trey Lance. Have the best RB in the NFL taking the field. I mean if they are going to deal Watson....they got to have something they can sell Texan fans on in 2021.

QBs are different though. Why Eli could pull off what he did in another time. Exceptions to the rule. Especially one like Watson. A LaVeon Bell can sit and the the show can go on. Realistically, we barely skipped a beat without the best RB in the NFL. You can pretty much do that to any unhappy player in the league. Watson sits? Good luck filling them seats. The ones that sat empty the year prior. QB isn't a next man up position. Especially, when your team is a one man show at QB. What is a bad backup going to do on bad team. You thought the Jets were a laughing stock? Last year's Jets would look good. Coach/GM ain't keeping their jobs. And Houston is a transplant city that doesn't have the Jets historically loyal fanbase. What are they going to show up for? You got to be able to sell something. Fool the fans into thinking something positive is going on. Houston doesn't have those cards. that said, every NFL owner is dreading this. They have seen how other leagues have changed. Only a matter of time before it seeps into the NFL to some degree. that's my 2 cents.

I mean I got zero interest in doing a lot of stuff. Doesn't mean I don't do it. I see this as nothing more than the Texans trying to improve their hand publicly. They got really no choice but to say such at the moment. What are they going to say? Watson wants to be traded. We will do what he says. We will now take whatever the best you got to offer? Nah, they will just negotiate from the stand point that they don't want to let him go and will dare him to sit to try to squeeze teams for more.

you got kids? that certainly doesn't sound like addressing a problem that actually is putting the kids best interest first IMO. Some kids will have drastically fallen behind. Some won't have. Treating them all the same in that manner is just creating even more problems.

AND in 2015 the Panther defense was #6 overall , #6 in points allowed, #1 in turnovers, #6 in sacks Houston in 2020 was #30 overall, #27 overall in points allowed, #28 in turnovers, #18 in sacks Part of Cam being able to turn water into wine and win with those WRs was a defense that was top 10 in every manner you could breakdown and look at a defense. Watson lead the league in passing w/ Brandon Cooks. If he had a defense that wasn't bottom of the barrel he would have continued posting double digit winning seasons. A feat Carolina has never done. Ever. Cam was Cam. Watson is Watson.

Steve Young and Cam Newton didn't have the same game. Vick and Cam didn't have the same game. Vick and Rodgers don't have the same game. and the opposite end of the spectrum Peyton Manning and Teddy didn't play the same game. Just because Watson can run and Cam can run....doesn't make them similar players

my favorite 2 Panther QBs of all time

Yes. The biggest piece of the puzzle in football is QB. It can overcome and masks issues like no other plan. It is the cheat code in football. And a Watson type and this moment in his career has never been available. I would have course negotiate for slightly different terms. But if this is all I could work out....I'd still do it.

I'm not really into bitcoin and all that. But isn't Dogecoin essentially meant to be a joke?

Let's say you are Deshaun Watson, bias aside, where do you want to go?
CRA replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well, the cap doesn’t really have anything to do with what an owner can afford. They could eat a coach’s contract. Cap is set by the league dictates what you can and can’t put on the field. so let’s say the cap was an even 175 million next season. Matt Ryan and Julio are going to take up about 70 million next year for Atlanta. No matter if they play there or not. So it makes more sense for them to play there. -

Atl would still take about a 50 million cap hit this year on him. -
