  1. Pretty raw. Interesting skill set in terms of upside. he could turn into a nice player. Gonna need to be coached up. But a nice blocking base coming in.
  2. one can only wait for the next round... will we want the GM tar and feathered? Or will every man and woman want to marry the man. It can easily go either way.
  3. I can get down with him. I do like the Brady connection. need to look up what the medical issues are that made him drop though.
  4. And then draft every draft eligible player that played at Baylor?
  5. Fun fact. On average, Horn gave up a TD this year every 7th time he was targeted. Think Surtain gave up a TD every 24th time he was targeted.
  6. That logic doesn’t work. There are tons of elite prospects in a draft. Jags drafting Trevor for example doesn’t mean they thought Trevor was the only elite QB prospect. They thought he was the best of the elite tier of QBs and the best for them. Steelers drafting Harris doesn’t mean they thought Etienne was a bum. Means they thought Harris was the best for them and the best of the elite RBs. You can’t claim the Steelers think he wasn’t also elite since they didn’t draft him. You only have one pick.
  7. Sam Darnold going into last night was a one year rental. I read the room pretty well. Because I said going in the Seattle GM was worrisome for me with the early DB move being his likely go to. Because he was going to have his unique Fitterer slant. Like Dave had his bias. Like Hurndawg had his. Fields is an elite QB prospect. Bashing it as something else isn’t going to make our pick better. Hopefully we don’t look foolish. Fields isn’t a superstar. Horn is great. That ain’t certain at all though.
  8. It’s literally something everyone will watch going forward. That’s the point of noting it. if noting that outrages somebody...maybe they are worried about how it is gonna look. Plenty of people wanted us to get address QB/OL with our first picks. There is direct connection to the Bears picks on that front.
  9. He is a mauler and good overall athlete. Played G in college too. LT, RT. He wouldn’t be locked into just being a RT. Nasty dude up front. Pros and cons of a guy with his mentality though. just highlighting how the Bears are taking a draft....many at least suggested we should of. And it is simply going to be something everyone will have their eyes on going forward.
  10. We could try to turn those into 10 picks in the 7th round
  11. So we have allowed the Bears to have Justin Fields (potential franchise QB)....and gave them our second spot to draft the biggest mauler (OT) in the draft.
  12. Panthers really have no fear of the football gods giving the Bears the pick....after they let Fields fall to them.
  13. How many new coaches that come in to rebuild with no QB.... have done as little as Rhule in regards to a QB. They generally have made a real investment (an attempt) for the future by year 2. Rhule now on his second short term vet rental. it’s a unique plan to wait to year 3 or 4....to finally bring in QB talent to your rebuild.
  14. yeah, nothing about picking Horn at #8 says the Panthers org is scared and trying to pick the safest players possible. The safest pick wasn’t Horn at #8. It was a somewhat bold move. There were safer players at 8. Probably could argue Surtain was the safest DB. Horn probably the highest ceiling of the DBs.
  15. Peyton Manning threw more picks than TDs when he entered the league. only time Sam did it....the Jets org was in full blown tank mode. I don’t really put much stock in that last season. I generally look at year 2 for Darnold.
  16. Definitely in college. In the NFL though it generally is much more costly though.
  17. I don't know about that. Given our OL scenario and the loss of Samuel....Joe Brady needs more targets in the pass game IMO I mean if the entire idea is to do Sam better than NY....Brady needs the talent to pull off what he does off and that largely involves getting the ball out quick. Easier to do that with more receiving targets than just Moore/Anderson. But you might could get slot guy like the kid from Clemson the next round. But he isn't Moore.
  18. I feel I can get a bigger crowd on board with raging against a pick if we draft a RB at the top of the 2nd than I did last night...
  19. I think I am over the fact that Panthers botched not drafting Fields. Jaycee Horn can be at peace for now. I now need to devote my attention to drastically overrating to our next picks.
  20. JOK and Moore both fit needs. I think that 3rd WR is pretty important for Joe Brady to be able to scheme and work his magic.....given the state of the OL and Darnold needing a rehab.....we got to be able to get the ball out quick to options.
  21. I do think at some the Panthers simply have to address a 3rd receiving threat for Joe Brady to work his magic. Whether that be a TE or a inside slot type WR.
