  1. I get bumping the Falcons and Bears over us. It isn’t about us getting worse. It’s about those two offenses getting better. Offensive league.
  2. and even if Mac comes in and plays this year. I just don't see Bill not utilizing Cam Newton even with Mac playing.
  3. Yep. We will be the Jaguars. Bragging about Jalen Ramsey yet not being able to win football games. We've been there before. Boasting about having the best 1-2 punch at RB or a 1k/1k RB.....and losing. Horn was the best DB in college football (let's just assume that isn't a debate). Impact for the Gamecocks? One of the worst teams and defenses in college football last year. Offenses had a field day vs them. They had a field day vs them them the entire time Horn was there. Positionally, DBs aren't able to drastically impact teams like other spots do. and the counter to that Horn/Gamecocks? Look at Auburn and Cam in the SEC that season? Undefeated and a natty on the back of a QB and a DT. Some positions just matter more.
  4. I mean that is literally the plan in NE. For Jones to take over. They drafted a first round QB and are renting Cam. No one should be shocked. When will it happens? Who knows. But that is plan/goal at this point. Maybe that is next season. Maybe that is some point this season.
  5. NFL scout just put out his. Has Moore at 17. Which seems about the right ballpark at this stage.
  6. and not really a good memory but memorable… A desperate Carolina team with no QB…called a 43 year old off his couch and with only a handful of days of prep….he became the oldest QB to ever win a NFL game.
  7. He will be Jalen Ramsey. You can only bash an uber elite player so hard. and yes, if we still don’t have a QB….the situation we find ourselves in will be discussed heavily. Because a great DB doesn’t help lift up a bad or average football team. Just like Luke and CMC couldn’t. QB remains the ultimate puzzle piece at this stage. All that really matters. You have one or you don’t.
  8. I don’t think a team should ever spend a first round pick on a RB or sign one to a big deal. Big picture.
  9. Luke and CMC were arguably the best positionally in the NFL by year 3. If Horn is arguably the best DB in the NFL by year 3? It won’t matter what what anyone else does. He will be a good pick. but like RB, LB….a DB has minimal ability to lift a bad or okay team into something else. And that will likely be talked about occasionally. As it has been with CMC, Luke, etc at times. That of course, would require subpar and inconsistent QB play to remain in Carolina for those discussions to pop up though.
  10. Depends what you are looking to get from him. Bill loves Cam to a large degree. His work ethic. His accountability. How he gives everything in his tank. How serious and important winning is. First on the field. And Cam is a great locker room guy. Depends what you want a vet to give to your young guy….I mean they have coaches for mechanics and all that.
  11. He is the top deep threat today. Clearly not of all time. But it highlights how this dude misses some pretty obvious stuff. I mean it’s Moss and not close at this point. And won’t be….because Hill can’t grow.
  12. lol Treash about to work on a side project telling folks about how Jake Paul is an elite boxer
  13. probably has something to do with how PFF uses their numbers over actual ability at the position. Moore didn't have a lot of TDs and his catch rate was low (because Teddy sucked)
  14. mine is still xclown....but for the younger fans, this is still one of the craziest things I can recall in football. The tiebreaker to get into playoffs coming down to points scored....and both teams competing to put them up. .
  15. well, if he has a halfway decent financial adviser...I would suspect he will be wearing 22 this year. Making a ton of decisions like that is how you end up a NFL statistic. but he can do whatever he wants. My son will just have a vintage 22 lol. I'm too cheap to start chasing jersey changes.
  16. Someone probably hasn’t told CMC about all the old Jersey money he would have to fork over…
  17. How dare you. THE PJ Walker is undefeated and has beaten opponents by an average of 20 pts per game in the NFL. If he maintains such a pace, he basically will be Bo Jackson in tecmo bowl and go down in Panther history.
  18. Darnold is still going into his 4th year as a starter in the NFL. If Joe Burrow could pick it up in college then Sam can pick it up in the NFL. I fully expect Joe Brady to run his offense this year. If you think we need to run Foxball for Sam to look good year 1….Sam was a mistake. I think Sam can run the O. All comes down to if he can limit the dumb plays. Talent is there and he is smart enough to pick up the O. Sam can’t be treated and viewed like he is Trey Lance. He doesn’t get to slow walk to the degree Lance would.
  19. Stewart, Beason, Williams, Gross, Peppers, TD too. I mean, plenty of other teams have also had top picks pretty consistently. Few hit the consistent homeruns Hurney did in the first. I just don't think drafting was the issue overall with Hurney. If you stack him up there vs the other franchises. The cap got a mess with bad deals and roster management and he wasn't able to finish the job in FA like he did early on here. Hurney was praised his first several years here. Asking him to managing contracts for his guys and the cap imploded it all IMO.
  20. Joe Brady is our OC. If we have to revert to old school Foxball for Darnold to not look like a bad move.....then it was a bad move. I fully expect Joe Brady to do his thing this year.
  21. I think Hurney the draft guy was actually decent. I mean if you compare our drafting to other teams. Other teams strike out pretty regularly and also do it with top picks. Hurney was one of the biggest home run hitters at the top of the draft. And plenty of franchises have regularly had good draft picks too and failed there. I think everything else about Hurney was horrible though. His contracts. His commitment to his guys. His inability after about 2006 to improve the team via FA.
  22. NFL is the Not For Long league. Coaches don't want to tank and neither do players. Matth Rhule, Joe Brady, etc are too new and young to have tanking be their introduction to the NFL. and if you tank for Trevor, you aren't even guaranteed he will be there as he was. He could of taken a nasty hit in college football and broken his neck. Clemson has had 2 guys in recent years break there neck. That's football.
  23. I like the Tremble pick but he is a project IMO. Not saying we want won't see him but 25% seems pretty high for a raw rookie that was kinda niche player in college. I think he was drafted for his upside down the road and what he could develop into more than anything. people are putting a lot of expectations on some of these guys. The main function of a lot these would be block on the line. I just don't' think we can afford to take a lot of chances with rookies up front early given the gamble they have made trying to redeem Sam Darnold.
