NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance
CRA replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Simms isn’t evaluating QBs as much as he is guessing landing spots IMO. -
And yet 6 of the last 7 Super Bowls were won by who? Unauthletic QBs. And not even young versions of themselves. So they weren’t even in their athletic primes of their unathletic careers.

Chris Simms Just Released his 2021 QB Rankings

Also worth noting for the Wilson fanboys who bring up the fact Trevor and Fields played with better talent. Trevor played against more teams where the opponent had more talent than his team did vs Wilson. Plus the added fact Trevor was evading NFL talent coming at him on the DL. Wilson wasn’t extending plays vs that. -

Anyone who doesn’t have Trevor one is looking for clicks. Simple as that. -
lot of those guys don’t have cannons.

If I told you the Eric Dickerson trade was going to happen as it did....you would tell be there is a 0.0 percent chance it could happen.

A new fire to the Watson drama (per Jason la Canfora)

I think it is just McNair’s ego. Easterby is a train wreck. Cal has to see that at this point. But he isn’t going to let a player call the shots. McNair takes an L no matter what IMO. He just needs to accept that. Best L would be just to do the obvious and fix the FO. But egos are weird. -

fixing the FO would bring him back most likely and end this. That’s a win for Watson. Watson got real money. Got it from football and endorsements. And he will make more no matter what in the end playing football. NFL is changing. They see other sports. Ain’t just about cash either. If it was Luke and Luck would be playing instead of retiring at their primes. -

then he is traded or they fire Easterby and fix the FO. Watson different. He ain't just rolling back in. -

Gov. Cooper accelerates dates for next groups to receive COVID-19 vaccine in N.C. (wbtv.com) FYI - sounds like NC is trying to open up a ton of people to qualify for vaccination. are you over 16? Have you ever smoked 100 cigarette in your lifetime? You would qualify starting March 24th

I don't actually recall entering a window where I think the Panther fans had no hope/faith though. We always had some false hope sold to us or that we sold ourselves. Might not be a winning season. But some form of delusional excitement. A new era featuring some superstar. We might suck but come watch us start it off w/ Kerry Collins. We might suck but come watch Reggie White. We might suck but come watch 89. Or Cam. Or Peppers. Or CMC. Which is what I am arguing the Texans fans could be entering a problematic scenario.....what is the selling point of 2020 to them. Texans org will have to answer that. We were close. If we hadn't drafted Cam. If Jimmy was the option in 2011. I think we would have seen the PSLs take a hit IMO. -

they aren't obligated. they choose to purchase them. and given they just traded Hopkins for a bag of Doritos, JJ Watt walked away.....and the Watson fiasco. I would imagine their numbers are about to take a pretty big hit. I think they first payment deadline is mid-March. I would assume they will be disappointed. at some point soon, Houston is going to have to be worried about going about putting butts in seats. I would hope the world is back to relative normalcy by Sept. Maybe masks. But based on current projections, most people that are active and want a vaccine should have them by this summer. -

I'd argue 3 is a Texans loss. That stadium is going to be a ghost town and that is going to be coming off a year of COVID. That is a really big hit for them to take. -

I mean it goes back to the PFF Bronco scenario. Broncos are even after us. But the trade only happens in the draft. Texans will have to wait until the draft.....and see if a QB actually falls to a team they are willing to trade with. and I think there are decent odds that one of the 4 makes it to 8. -

it's okay. Just crawl back into bed. Whatever side you got out on just roll out the other side. -

Watson is a no brainer IMO if you can get him. Cam offers you nothing. Short term or the future in regards to actual football. As a starter. -

Cam can come back and retire. Hell, give him a FO job. Basically, a part time marketing gig. I'm down for basically anything Cam.....except playing QB here. It's over. There is no Julius Peppers moment for him. -

Jake was done though. Tommy Jone won. He threw 2 TDs and 7 INTs and was almost decapitated in Cleveland. -

I’m still a Cam fan. But even in his prime, Cam wasn’t the ideal QB for Joe Brady’s offense. Now? Current Cam? Heck no. Cam was always more of a great football player than great QB. He was the best football player for in the NFL at one point. The Golden Calf of Bristol IMO was the greatest college QB of all time. It’s fine do you don’t agree. Doesn’t matter. But everyone college offense shouldn’t and wouldn’t of wanted The Golden Calf of Bristol. Required a The Golden Calf of Bristol centric offense. Cam defiantly requires that now. -
Well, you can find an example that runs counter to literally everything. as a I general rule, as a NFL team, I still gamble on the standout talent that thrives vs elite college programs over more technically sound players at small schools. Overall, that works out better for you in the long run.
-
No, but if I am a NFL team and I got to set it as my rule?....I'd rather gamble on the freak talent standing out at a major college program over the more technically sound player at some small time school.
-
two different things. Think you are missing my point or I stated it poorly. Hurts and Tua were both significantly more talented than Mac Jones. Which made them better players. Was Mac Jones technically a more sound QB than Hurts at Bama? Probably. I mean you could be the most fundamentally sound LB in college football. But if you ain't got the talent to go with it. You are selling insurance. I wasn't advocating Mac Jones as better than Fields. I think he technically plays the position traditionally better at this stage. It isn't actually praise of Mac. Just like I wasn't praising the dudes drafted after Cam Newton that were better QBs at the time. Cam was the best player and more talented.

Wilson already has had surgery on this throwing shoulder.
