for awhile I was pretty certain a QB would get to 8. I flip flop on it. Earlier I just though the media was overhyping it because QBs are just more fun to talk about and get clicks. 4 in the top 10 is pretty high. You don't see that. And we aren't dealing w/ 4 Trevors.

I just don't see a division rival trading to knowingly allow a division rival to take a QB high. If they hit, you basically have a decade of owning that.

NFL draft history is pretty clear that the media consensus doesn't set the board's for all the teams. Jets could easily draft Justin Fields. That then puts Wilson in play. I could see Carolina trading up. I just don't see it being w/ the Jets. Jets are going to get a QB IMO pending a team isn't willing to be so dumb they can't refuse.

Okay. But the top 10 list is pretty fluid year to year isn't? At least the names the round out a top 10 each year. I mean you know certain folks will be there. Aaron Rodgers. Maybe 2nd one year. 3rd the next. He will have a spot. Like a Mahomes. But it is still fluid outside of like a group of 5-6 fixtures. Then you can have Cam, Baker, Lamar, Allen, Goff, etc. In one year, out the next.

Can we extend the range out to top 10-15? Because the top 10-15 is very fluid....and part of that is because the team/scenario around them dictates it. I can imagine many the top 10 sucking when in bad spots vs good. A prime Mahomes, Rodgers, Brees, Manning, Wilson, etc will find a way. So basically HOFers can generally find a way not to suck. I'll say that.

Same is true largely for QBs. Tom Brady does you no good without an OL and the proper weapons. If you have an OL and weapons? Brady makes a massive difference. You got a DL? A dude like Luke will give you a top D. That's my take. Not 100% the same but similar in nature.

Because both teams let the talent on those units go to poo. I mean, you still need a DL in front of Luke.

well, if we can't solve the QB puzzle this year.....solving the defensive front 7 puzzle does seem like a worthy investment. Cam Newton wouldn't of had his success those season without those dominant fronts.

and Beason had an Achilles injury in 2011 that knocked him out for the year. Those are career killers. It wasn't on par w/ drafting Stewart.

I understand that. I see it used all the time of late. All I am saying is that it doesn't pass the eye test. I just question if that tech is really as accurate as advertised at this stage. You got a white linebacker from James Madison on his heels the entire run. And I am suppose to believe that is Lance is running faster than Lamar pulling away from NFL players? I mean it could be true. The eye test of part of that statement just doesn't jive. Maybe James Madison is full of track kids. Who knows.

I agree that probably does make sense to remove it and put up one of Justin Fields. Glad we can all come together on occasion and agree.

I don't trust these speed/clocks that pop up on the TV at all that are now used to make arguments. They just don't pass the eye test. Take Lance's. You watch that run they cite and there are kids playing FCS football right on his heels that entire run. Daniel Jones? You telling me Lamar never got up to a speed faster than him this season? I just don't buy it.

Is Fields streaky? or did Ohio St just get comically wiped out by COVID for a little over a month this past season. My personal belief is all those suddenly nitpicking Fields are just looking at that insane COVID window and topping it off with him hurt vs Bama. 2019 he was considered by all 1b with Trevor. Talk kicking off 2020 was maybe he was better. Then COVID hit them and they didn’t have their players back really until Clemson.
