Teddy was exactly what Teddy has always been. Rhule to date deserves criticism for the way the overall QB position has been handled to date. The Cam thing was weird. Then he let cheaper alternatives to survive a season walk out the door like Allen and Heineke. We drastically overpaid Teddy to be a bandaid. Then we pointlessly threw Teddy under the bus forcing our hand to go sign another version of Teddy. Then we had one of the top QBs in all of college football fall in our lap and were like.....nah. I still like Rhule. But the man deserves some scrutiny at QB IMO.

Rhule is a great college coach. But there are lots of great college coaches that won't make it in the NFL. Different animal. Rhule has never built teams and won in the manner required to in the NFL though. Saban went right back to college when he couldn't get a QB in Miami. No QB? Saban said it was impossible to win in the NFL and he wasn't hanging around without it. Miami opted to bring in Teddy/Darnold types. He said bye bye. Great QBs are rare. So when you have a chance to possibly grab one you need to take the shot. Love or hate Fields.....that was one of those lotto tickets a team without a QB has to take. NFL runs through the QB.

Rhule didn't win in college with great QB play. He has never relied on it. Two years into his NFL career he appears to be sticking with his same formula. Prioritize defense.

Unvaccinated people are how the variants are created. Look at the covid numbers today and what the Delta variant is doing across the country. And there will be more variants to come and no one knows what they will end up doing…..but we know the vaccines weren’t created specifically for them. Odds are the next variants will start to pop up in the coming months. And they could be greater threats or lesser threats than the original. That’s what variants do. And if the new variants go around the vaccine successfully enough …..the globe is once again right back where it was. I mean think about if unvaccinated folks allow this to be a problem for a half decade? It will mean a lot more than an embarrassingly high death toll for modern society. It will mean more than vaccinated getting infected with news strains. Our supply chains are already screwed up. Which impacts jobs, inflation, and a host of other issues….for society as a whole. Not a small percentage.

I got no issue with the small segment of the population that can’t and shouldn’t take certain vaccines for specific health issues That is a totally different conversation IMO. It’s another straw added to the pile of what everyone that can should get vaccinated to stomp covid out. you implied the masses were putting their health at risk by taking the vaccine. I was countering back to the anti covid vax crowd .

I’ll go back to the burning house analogy. The world can’t just put there feet up and wait 2 years before they deal with a global pandemic. It is why the emergency authorization exists. And again, it is why we spending billion studying coronavirus it preparation for an event like this and as time has gone by, tech advances and the world has shrunk….the emergency authorized COVID-19 vaccine is better than so many of the ones that came before it and had time to get full approval.
-
talk about not apples to apples.... Coronavirus is something that world has steady worked on together for decades upon decades in preparation....for a moment exactly like this one. it's why they were able to create 3 very effective vaccines for the virus they were made so quickly for. Decades of studying COVID. Billions spent. And it went to work. Vaccines are simple. It is why we have been able to remove viruses from being a threat time and time again. We get better and better and better at it. Extended the life span of humans to what they are today.

the worrisome part is....HCs do in fact sacrifice coordinators to buy themselves time when expectations aren't met. The football gods require sacrifice. Rhule has super long ties to the DC.

Kyle Allen era started off 4-0 Teddy era started off 3-2 and then things went south pretty quick
-
per Vegas we will face our 3 easiest opponents in the first 5 games. 4-0 would still be 4-0 though. Convincing wins? Yeah, I would still probably rethink and alter my excitement some for the season.

Shi never returned a single punt in college though. I’d say PR is about as clear as LT.

In reality we shouldn’t of been as competitive as we were last season. We were in large part because of Joe Brady IMO. he clearly has room for growth that will come with more situational football but he exceeded expectations IMO.

There was a fake story some actual reporters were passing around about Kelvin being caught stealing food on security cameras as the reason. Everyone deleting fast lol.

Fit talking to "2 or 3 players" about extensions
CRA replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
might be smart to extend him before he heads into his first NFL season that features a QB willing to throw downfield that also doesn't have a blown out shoulder. Moore could easily put up some big numbers. He puts up good numbers with dudes that can't /won't throw downfield. -
guess TJ Ward must realize how tough the competition is these days and tried to come out strong and early. I mean, being the worst person on twitter is no easy feat these days. TJ Ward going for it though. I remain a big Ron Rivera the human fan. Probably my favorite coach in terms of actual people we have had. Ron should walk IMO. Not for the reasons TJ said. But because the org isn't filled with enough people like Ron. The org is making sure Ron knows this too.

What's the worst case scenario with Sam Darnold this year?
CRA replied to 1of10Charnatives's topic in Carolina Panthers
worst case scenario is the most likely IMO. Panthers get to about 7ish wins. Which we likely would have done last year too with a healthy CMC for 16 games then too. Sam remains what he has been to date in the NFL. Just a very average QB. Not horrible. Not actually good. and Carolina is stuck in no man's land in terms of solving the QB situation. Forced to role with Darnold again the next year knowing he isn't the answer. Sets up Rhule to draft "his" QB in year 3. Which is just a weird space to have a your new HC finally bringing in a young body to groom in year 3. -

Texans now indicate Deshaun Watson is available for trade
CRA replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
the hypothetical Watson that existed pre-scandal was worth selling the farm for. the actual Watson that exists now carries too much risk to acquire IMO I expect a payoff is coming for his current situation. But that won't actually close the door on that chapter. Could easily get re-opened after this group is paid off. -

yep. and things have gotten super duper quiet in regards to the Watson saga. Which is odd given who the attorney involved is.
