I mean, it took the ball bouncing our way to help us squeak out those 5 wins last year. We caught both the Jets and Texans with rookies making their debut starts. Saints were displaced by a hurricane, injured and didn't have most of their coaching staff. Cardinals we got to face their backup QB and had the injection of Cam into the universe mojo. The Falcons had their #1 WR walk away the morning of the game (which shreds their game plan) Hard to project any team will finish last as generally in season events will help sort that out. But I think another top 10 pick is clearly in our future.

Unless it is confirmed someone not named Sam Darnold is starting.....I do not plan on attending a game this year.
-
and if our schedule was built different last year and we got the Texans and Jets later in the year....I don't think we would have won those games.
-
I can handle an arguement for the Falcons and maybe even Seattle being in worse positions. Jets, Jags, and even frankly the Texans are ahead of us in rebuilding.

but I thought it was just a bunch of upset Rhule haters painting this picture that we are a joke??

I don't really trust him either. I mean, even if you want to argue Rhule was essentially calling the shots in terms of personel.....Fitty was still part of some really bonehead stuff. I mean, if Rhule really wanted Sam and Robby? Cool. We didn't need to pick up Sam's option, comically overpay Robby, etc. That's not Rhule.

I think WandaVision is the best of the TV stuff. But you got to get past the first two episodes. But overall, I think WandaVision is one of the best things done in this current phase.
-
watch the team announce his new deal in the next 24 hours lol. I still think he was holding out because of a deal. Just like Robby did last season. I guess we will see. I think him being back means they have agreed on numbers. Just my wild guess.

I wasn't a big fan of it. It had a different feel than a lot of Marvel movies which I was fine with.....but I don't think they did a great job w/ Wanda's story. Got no problem w/ the overall direction and path they wanted to take her but I think they went overboard. Think they had her turn too hard and quick coming off WandaVision. Think the turn should of been slower. They just flipped a switch and made her Freddy Kruger lol. Felt too lazy. I think her having the TV show and doing such a great job fleshing out her character there is probably what made me not like how the movie went about the storytelling.

yeah, this is really fan fiction by Matt Rhule's board family though. There is no deep hatred for Matt Rhule. Matt Rhule was simply a comically bad NFL HC last year. Comically bad. We just say that. It was what it was. Generally, when someone is that bad they disappear. Matt Rhule hasn't. Therefore, it keeps getting mentioned. You know, being he is the HC and all and has his finger print on literally everything going forward. Jimmy Clausen sucked horrifically as QB. There was no real Clausen hatred. He just couldn't play QB. I think Clausen actually gained more respect as a person throughout his bad career. But if Clausen would have been our starting QB in 2011 it would have been spoken about a lot.

Brees was just in his feelings because he isn’t good on TV. that post about maybe he would do a thousand things wasn’t serious. But yeah, Matt Rhule probably wanted to give him a call and a nice contract

Basically Fitt can talk in a microphone/in front of people and doesn’t come off poorly.
-
GM is getting a bump he doesn’t deserve strictly because Rhule has looked so horrible of late.

I think it was more Teddy just being a better QB though than Sam. 2020 Robbie existed because Sam wasn’t on the field. Teddy lacks a lot. But he offers a lot over a bad QB like Sam. Rhule botched the management of the QB spot and that will be what ends his career in the NFL. Gotta find it quick and he wasted time. Should of let Cam play out that last year of his deal and drafted a kid that year. When he messed that up he should of kept Teddy for 2 seasons and drafted a kid last year. That is what made sense for a rebuilding team. He had two windows to do it and didn’t use either one IMO. Now he is in some weird have to get wins now in year 3 to stay employed window….which I think will have high odds of Sam/PJ being played in some bad conservative scheme thinking it is the best path to squeak out a win each week. And I think he will annoy the GM to still go get Jimmy G or Baker if it gets cheaper and play them. When it should just be about seeing what we have in Corral. but even if Rhule finds a QB…I think his leadership at this level and in game management are pretty suspect. We have had suspect in game management before but the others were good leaders IMO until their times were just naturally near the end.

I think Romo is the best former player they have put up in the booth

Horn kinda a wash given we rented Gilmore after he went down. Who has way better than a rookie Horn would have been. but I do think Arnold was a dumb trade. Not that Arnold is great. But we lacked a quick pass option to the middle of the field after he left…..which was also a key aspect of the pass attack in 2020. we really neutered the O going from 2020 to 2021 IMO and that was by our front office. Downgraded QB. Downgraded the middle of the field pass options for the QB. I just don’t think it matters. If you start Sam Darnold you are going to lose no matter what you do elsewhere. And we did.

I go back and forth on the CMC factor. we have seen a fully healthy CMC play lights out for an entire season (2019)….and it still only resulted in 5 wins when paired with weak QB play. So does he really win us more games last year? Or do we just have the best fantasy football player and it doesn’t actually translate to wins.
-
Your exact words “Rhule had no talent, and no QB” Rhule inherited Cam, CMC, Moore, Moton, Burns, Jackson, Samuel, Shaq, etc. So either he did inherit talent and your statement was nonsense….or you think those guys aren’t talented.
-
You called Cam, CMC, Moore, Moton, Burns, Samuel, Jackson, Shaq, etc talentless. That’s nonsense so I called you on it.
-
Fox took over a 1-15 Chris Weinke Panthers that was coming off a 15 game losing streak. Rhule inherited Cam -was talented enough to win 7 games with the worst roster in the NFL. More importantly, his franchise best leadership to get whatever you wanted up and running. Rhule opted to kick him to the curb. CMC - best RB in the NFL DJ Moore - was already sleeping walking to 1000+ yards with no QB play plus a bunch of young recently talented guys like Burns, Moton, Samuel, Jackson, Shaq Offensively, Matt Rhule inherited a better gig than Fox did.
-
Maybe Ron did inherit a slightly better mess. That’s not really the point. Singling out Ron. . Capers, Fox and Ron all inherited comparable messes…..and weren’t jokes at the conclusion of year 2. There was something being built. Direction. Improvement. Belief. and I do agree that Rhule wouldn’t be married into a mindset like a Spurrier, Kelly, etc. I mean there innovation is what got them the jobs though and to see them give it a whirl at the next level. So I don’t think they compare well to Rhule. But it just brings me back to what are waiting on Rhule to show at this level? What’s the NFL equivalent of his college success?
-
I mean, I still think his college resume is greatly overblown too. a lot of really great college coaches just don’t work at the next level. GOATs of collegiate eras we are talking about. But Rhule was never a top tier college coach. He wasn’t known for innovation, offense or really anything of note. And he didn’t dominate small time college ball either. Somehow this program builder mantra started….but I don’t think Rhule is a noteworthy program builder in college football. Taking a team that is bad and making them respectable is an accomplishment. He did do that. But he didn’t hang around long and he never really made them anything outside of respectable.
