  1. Newton sucks. But that is what a reporter is suppose to do. Ask that type question. He isn't Panther PR.
  2. I'd say it looks more like the OL's skill set is limited. I'd say the Cowboys would LOVE for us to engage in a shootout with them. I hope that isn't the gameplan.
  3. this team has never even played down 3 points on the season though. I think that might be the in game adversity he was referencing. How does Darnold play down 10 early for example? Is he going to keep playing smart? We still haven't seen a lot with this group. That's coaches too.
  4. our all blue color rush look is probably my favorite look.
  5. you can nitpick anything....his overall resume is what it is. He has put 3 different teams in the top 5 defensively. If that isn't a good DC, then I don't know what one is. Ron was the same way. Multiple teams and did it in multiple schemes. The fact they suck as HCs is overpromotion....which you see often in sports. and it's the present day NFL. The entire league is too comically catered to aid the offense against a defense. So defenses are going to get got.
  6. Yeah, Del Rio got there last year and they finished the season as the #2 rated defense. it's silly to try to paint strong narratives only using 3 weeks of football. They played Chargers and Bills...and the D had to deal with the impacts of an inefficient offense figuring out a sudden QB change. Del Rio is proven at DC.
  7. Del Rio and Ron were very good defensive coordinators. Them being meh HCs doesn't alter that imo but I think it often does. it's just overpromotion. they were and are still great DCs IMO.
  8. I mean he probably is better today than Chubba. But that isn’t the point. We drafted Chubba for a reason. Windows like we are currently in are where he can grow…with the goal of being better than Mack. I want our young kids getting reps over JAGs. Tremble, Brady, Chubba IMO should be put into position to get good reps.
  9. I don't think teams specifically get biased calls. I do think certain plays get calls others don't. I think that is where ref bias really shows itself the most. I don't consider crews that call certain things heavier than others bias. You see that a lot too. But that is part of coaching, knowing what crew is calling your game and their tendency....and you should know that and play to it.
  10. CMC is only out likely for two weeks. We should keep repping Chubba to see what he develops into. That's the whole point of drafting him.
  11. I think Dallas should be favored in this one….and if we lose? it won’t mean anything. We just lost CMC, Arnold, and Horn. We will still be in great shape and should win the following week.
  12. No clue. I would guess it boils down to ego and pride. Stubborn coaches thinking their scheme is superior and refusing to evolve as talent dictates
  13. Well for the elite talk. Elite QBs avoid that. That’s all on Dak.
  14. but the Bears essentially used up his entire rookie deal and dealt him for not being a fit. We got him going into year 5
  15. I can’t recall an example of team trying to deal a top 10 pick after year one….who actually looked good. Which he did. Expensive vets? Busts? Yeah. it’s a great deal for us. I just think you got to temper expectation of what it turns into. If he is gone after this year I don’t think it would reflect bad at all on our FO. And I have been hard on this current group.
  16. Charlie Strong addressed he was having issues…..and we just got him for decent TE. I think it is safe to say it isn’t just fake internet rumors off those two facts.
  17. They certainly know, it’s how they got the 2020 #9 pick in exchange for…..Dan Arnold.
  18. I don’t get the sense that when they call him “different”….that they just mean quiet and reserved.
  19. The cost is worth the gamble. But the cost is why I am not getting my hopes up either. It’s like us trading Jaycee Horn next year for a decent TE. That just wouldn’t make sense…unless there was something up with Horn.
  20. That might be the saddest top 10 draft pick I have ever seen. hopefully getting out of FL does him well.
  21. For the cost? This was a great move. but what we got him for and the fact the Jags have been trying to unload him since this summer? I think does kinda confirm there is at least something there. All season the #7 pick of the 2020 draft has been offered up for cheap (who has looked promising when he played)….there has to be red flags that teams are aware of for that to happen IMO.
  22. I wouldn’t say entirely, Charlie Strong indicated he was having some issues and dealing with stuff. I only remember him talking about it because I had no clue Charlie was now with the Jags and was surprised he was there now
  23. there is a thread from the off-season that discusses it when the Jags were trying to deal him back then I believe that goes into it.
