  1. I think they already said he could play this year. Next year is where it gets dicey. Which makes no sense for the Phins to bring him in….because he will be out next year and the Phins already in too big of a hole this year
  2. everyone legit, is reporting it’s the Dolphins. reports are the WFT is in the mix to go for Tua and the 3rd team in the talks (that is specifically mentioned not involved with the Watson part). If our GM is in on every deal….it will be interesting to see what Tua ends up costing a team. He better be expensive.
  3. I’m weird about punt returner. They are a rare breed. I don’t like throwing inexperienced guys into that role. Mess up….and it’s a gamechanger. Lot of guys can return kicks. Shi returned kicks in college. KR is a lot easier. But Shi never did punts in college. I don’t care about return yards. I care about fielding them cleanly.
  4. he has zero punt return experience though. That’s the key spot.
  5. I would never want a kicker named Blewitt. I mean, you basically know the joke that inevitably is going to happen… but it seems like Ron merely likes the long Hail Mary kicker types….
  6. Zane hasn’t missed a FG inside of 50. Zane isn’t the long term answer, but if a K is making kicks…just ride that for the time being.
  7. I don’t get why the Phins soured on Tua so quick….and frankly so openly. 7-5, 64% comp, 14 TDs, 7 INTs. 4 rush TD. that ain’t bad for your first 12 NFL starts.
  8. RBs look good considering the OL talent. DJ balling Ian Thomas finally showing something. Tremble looking decent for a rookie being worked in. rookie WRs look good when we rarely see them. it’s basically the two guys the Jets didn’t want struggling the most. It’s almost like the most painfully obvious answer is the right answer. That we shouldn’t of built the core of our O with parts from the NY Jets…
  9. DJ Moore has been an absolute beast on the year. this overall is just a Robby Anderson issue. And the fact we paid him so heavily is impacting IMO the ability for the rookies to get the reps they should be getting. Rhule and company overpaid Anderson and he just isn’t what his one year anomaly season suggested …and here we are.
  10. if we keep sucking. Matt Rhule and the GM will fire people. It's what NFL coaches and front offices do. They have to steer the blame for the failure somewhere for the masses. it's not going to be this week. But if the struggles continue. Front offices always save face and finger point via firings. That's just the NFL.
  11. and it's the #3 rated D. #6 in points. And he is currently without the leader of the D and his first rounder. I mean, they literally gifted wrapped one of the losses, the Philly game....and the O still managed to give it away. 9 minutes left in the game on Sunday....the Panther offense had 80 passing yards on the day. And you don't understand why the Panther D ended up having a bad day vs one of the best offenses in terms of skill position players? The D was probably better in the Philly game than the Houston game. With even the most average offense that day....it's a blow out. bad offense quarter after quarter....means a good defense will end up giving yards and points.
  12. Why would they fire the defensive coordinator first? He has the only unit playing at a high level on the year? Plus, Snow is the only actual Matt Rhule guy of all the coordinators. That's Rhule's guy. The most impactful guy to Rhule's career success. Temple and Baylor got to where they got under Rhule via Snow's defenses. Brady, Chase, position coaches, players. Matt Rhule would throw a lot of guys into fire before Snow.
  13. I think when it all evens out, Robby will finish the year very similar to how most of his ones with the Jets were. I just think he had a fluke season. We see those with players of his caliber all the time. It's why the Jets let him go and why he had the rep of not being a very good all around WR. I think last year opponents didn't really know what Joe Brady's O was going to be. New always has advantages until the tape sets in. Why QBs often take steps back in year 2. So while the league figured it out, they just gave Teddy the short of the stick stuff they knew he would take. And Teddy nickel and dimed people between the 20s with it. And Robby excelled in that moment. But now Joe Brady and Carolina aren't a mystery. So they man up and play the WRs tougher. And DJ has always been a more well rounded WR and better WR.....so he continues to be what he always has been. Every week DJ is making some insane catches. And Robby is largely going back to being what he always has been. Not a very good WR. But one you that can randomly hit you for a big play if you get lazy with him.
  14. Robby Anderson has had a catch % over 54% just once....and that is when Teddy was his QB. Almost 70% with Teddy. Which goes back to why I wanted to wait before we paid/extended Robby. See him with Sam and the growth of the draft picks before paying him based off what was an anomaly season. The Sam to Robby connection has never been a good one. The fact they have been on the same team together never meant the chemistry/connection was good.
  15. the Cowboys/Vikings have....a good QB. a good RB. two #1 caliber WRs on the outside. I don't think teams figured out his D...as much as the teams we dominated didn't have that.
  16. Depends. NFL is largely HCs/GMs scapegoating people. So when the time comes...they have a group of coaches they will be willing to part with if they need to appease the masses. I mean, it's not the OLs coach's fault this group sucks. It's not the QB coaches fault Darnold isn't getting it done. And they hired Joe Brady with no playcalling experience....gave him horrific OLs to learn/figure it out with? Yeah, sounds rocky by FO design. We can fire these type people. It doesn't solve the fact primary issue is personel. Now, some could be secondary issues. But the personel is the primary issue. But the HC/GM aren't going to fire themselves for not doing there job good enough. It's how we got Sean McDermott. Andy Reid needed someone to blame. So he blamed the guy whose defense he and the FO depleted of talent. McDermott was the same dude then that he was when we hired him as DC. We just gave him DL talent.
  17. as I said, I have no problem with you saying Tyrod isn't great. And Tyrod isn't there to be the franchise. He doesn't have a high ceiling. But Tyrod actually is....what people wanted Sam to be. Sam just isn't. Never has been. Tyrod has been what he is for awhile. His 2 games this year? 4 TDs. 0 turnovers. That not a weird stat line for him. That's Tyrod. And you can go back years and check his tape and stats. When he has played over the years check his TD to turnover stats. That's why he is better than Sam in a nutshull. And why Sam shouldn't be a starting QB this far into his career out of choice.....going into a season.
  18. It’s fine if you think he sucks. But be consistent with your standards. That means Darnold belongs in the XFL
  19. we will beat the Giants. the stretch from NE until the last game in Tampa.....is when I think the football gods will start demanding sacrifaces every couple weeks.
  20. maybe watch less Sam Darnold and more great QBs. The good QBs have no problem living to play for another series. Especially early in a game. The whole, el lost DJ to a concussion on a horrble throw by Sam....but at least we tried something not smart instead of punting. This isn't a new concept. QBs have to protect their WRs. And when you don't....they start playing the game KNOWING they don't have a QB that is looking out for their health. Well, that impacts things as well. Sam Darnold is not good at playing QB. Time for Panther nation to accept what the league already accepted.
  21. It's Teddy redux. He had an entire football lifetime that showed he was a checkdown QB. Yet people kept up this mantra that we didn't really know what he was. I mean, Sam is literally the same dude he has always been since he started playing QB. In NY and before. Poor ball security, bone head decisions, poor ball placement, hesitantion and jitters that routinely pop out. That's just what he is. and yes, plays you like? The big run in the 4th q? A big throw here? Sam always did that too. That all existed in NY and USC too. We aren't getting a glimmer of something new.
  22. so you are saying NFL defenses don't gameplan specifically for the best overall RB in all the NFL, who the entire O is build off of....any different than a mid round rookie RB?
  23. how many passing yards did the Panther offense have with 9 minutes left in the game on Sunday? the D literally put the game on a silver platter vs the Eagles and the O said no thank you. If you have horrible offense....the defense will always end up looking poor.
  24. Depends how bad it gets. If we end up winning only 5-6 games and he has a worse season than he did in 2019 with the Jets? Well, good luck to Tepper selling that. It will mark the first time in franchise history with 4 consecutive losing season. With a promise of NY Sam coming back? think for Sam to return, things will have to turn around from the current outlook. If we continue poorly….the football gods will require sacrifices. That’s the NFL. And Joe Brady won’t be enough.
  25. Nah, most fan bases think their OL is weak. Most QBs routinely have to deal with bad OL play too. need a QB like a punt returner. That is calm with heat coming at him.
