So this was or wasn’t a hospital ball by Darnold?
CRA replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Gronk IMO is very similar to Cam. One of the most unique physical mismatches the league has had to deal with....and opponents went about trying to destroy them as that was an easier option than actually defending them. -
lol I don't think PJ Walker is NFL material When you here someone say Sam Darnold shouldn't be on the NFL field and is basically PJ Walker tier QB.....you think that somehow is hyping up PJ. Again, this isn't a PJ Walker discussion in reality, it remains a Sam Darnold one. I have been painfully clear that I want Rhule forced to remove PJ and Sam from the roster next year. And the surest way to force Rhule off both is for PJ to take the field. We aren't winning this year with Sam. We aren't winning with PJ. Might as well make the Ls productive. Which means forcing Rhule to rebuild his QB room. And Rhule's handling of the QB spot has been one predictable mess after another. if the never lost gifs make that hard to understand? Well, I just find that fun.

Well, if I knew I wasn’t going to keep Teddy? Who was better and already paid for? I would have added Tyrod, Mitch, Gardner, etc (all better) and probably added someone in the draft. And if I didn’t love Mac or Fields I would have still added QB talent. And still might of carried 3 and paid and brought in some old vet to collect a check and help teach those of 2 guys about what the NFL is all about. it isn’t just that they signed Sam. They signed Sam as the only option. Sam or die. And Sam was just too comically bad to do that with. Think that again points to what an inexperienced FO we have.

All in to get a ring and I think it is the right call for them. -

well, for the record I repeatedly said the defender on the play should mostly get credit for a great play. They get paid too. I do think it still a standard example of Sam being late and slow though. And Sam routinely messes up throws and prevents plays from working as drawn up by playing them wrong and slow. It’s consistent. Sam’s probably a really nice guy putting in a ton of effort. Same would apply to PJ probably too. So how much weight should that carry? -
Anderson on the Hands Team for the On-Side Kick!

There is no one coming in to start for us this Sunday. You get PJ or the practice squad guy if Sam can't go. -

Not this comically bad. But Robby's catch % with Sam Darnold was bad in NY too. They have never been a good pairing IMO. -

front office should of put better effort into the QB spot. Now this season is basically complaining about all the things Sam Darnold makes worse by being our QB. -

in Carolina, Robby only has an issues with Sam Darnold passes. Hands are money outside of that here. -

It doesn't have to be that hard. We could just....get a real functional QB. Darnold isn't even a Trubisky, Menshew, Tyrod, Daniel Jones caliber QB. Not asking for Rodgers or Watson. Just someone who should be on a NFL field. -

89 has a lot of hot takes that aren't always right IMO. That's literally what he is paid for these days. I think 89 in large part took issue with DJ's personality and demanor. And that's just who he is. He has a nonchalant vibe to him that simply is what it is. -

Yes, Moore didn't make that block. But missing a block isn't the same thing as loafing it. -
Cam isn't coming. How could Cam trust Matt Rhule and Tepper farther than he could throw them. Just more embarassment would be instore for Cam.

well, post DJ jogging before the defender was breaking on Sam's pass to Robbie. I think this is a textbook example of letting an announcer reshape what actually happened. Ball was late, which allowed the defender the opportunity to break on the pass to Robby. Sam needed to put some real mustard on that one since it was late. What is more common the year? Sam making a textbook late throw or DJ loafing it?- 68 replies

That's just how DJ looks when he runs. Visually, he a never looks like he is going all out. DJ did his job. Ball needed to be out quicker. Was thrown late and hung up in the air...which allowed the defender ample time read the play....and come down and blow Anderson up. Sam could of made a better throw and got it out earlier. That would have kept the DJ's defender from breaking off his coverage assignment in the manner he did. Overall, most credit IMO has to go to the defender. It was a great play by him. And that happens sometimes. -
it also would highlight what jokes Tepper/Rhule have been in terms of managing this team, specifically QB.
-
Kinda highlights how pointless some of what PFF does is. It claims Sam had the best game....and Chuba/Freeman had some of the worst. The entire gameplan was the run game hiding our QB despite the entire stadium knowing the deal and we still pulled it off lol.
-
You are asking an owner, a HC and a QB to all swallow their egos… for a short term play. I’d be all about it but I just don’t see anyone in that trio entertaining it and it would take all 3.
-
There just isn’t anything realistic about Tepper/Rhule calling Cam or Cam answering if they did. Would I be about it? Well Cam is all time favorite and I can’t stand Darnold. Sure. But that is fantasy.
-
It was probably pretty problematic for them we had the luxury and ability of putting a top 3 vet corner on Pitts…. Probably just as important to the victory as sticking with the run. Pitts had really turned it on of late.
-
The odds both provide are pretty dang poor. And in large part I only support PJ starting because I think that outcome has highest odds of forcing this staff to move on from both. Both are pointless to me. Just a wasted season with two guys that offer nothing big picture. And I don’t want any part of that rolling into next season. I want clean house in the QB room. Actually have potential or competency occupying the spots.

Tampa Tom is now 0-3 vs the Saints.

Reality is…almost no one is actually infatuated with PJ Walker. but Sam Darnold really sucks at playing QB and we have limited options to express that thanks to Matt Rhule.
