it depends on which balls we are talking about. but yes, Sam has a role in plenty of them. That’s football. take the Freeman one. It’s why Aikman, a fellow QB, initially was just going to blame Freeman. Then he watched the replay and went on and on about what a bad ball it really was to ask of your RB. That’s the QB being part of the reason it was an incompletion. That happens in football. Cam did it often on short passes throwing them 200 mph. The QB was lowering odds of success because of the ball thrown. Cam could hit someone in the chest and it be low odds of being caught because the WR was 4 yards away.

Gronk is the GOAT of TEs. you seem to be unable to admit Sam has something to do with high drop amount. I simply talk about all the factors that are going into it. the “drops” cost us just as much as having a QB so bad that it forced our staff into that game plan.

Brady is throwing those to the GOAT TE. Cam to a Pro Bowl TE. And if the ball is in on their finger tips…it’s low odds for them too. Probably better than a rookie who hasn’t caught a lot of balls but still low.

Every ball not caught isn’t created equal. That’s just nonsensical. Sam has been the worst starting QB in the NFL for the last 4 seasons. Yeah, he catches more hell than other people. Well, maybe not Robby on the year. Robby deserves his fair share. But I don’t fault Robby for the ball he didn’t catch today.

Tremble caught every ball thrown his way but 1. And that’s not a drop. And him not pulling that in isn’t something you should be complaining about. He gave it all he had but the ball was still far out for him. He is a rookie TE. lot of drops aren’t even drops people talk about around here. Then for some reason we are suppose to ignore Sam’s role in a lot of the drops. He has been throwing guys into hits all season and giving them hard balls to catch. Sam is a big part of why we lead the league in drops. And that has to be said when we talk about drops.

Tremble’s isn’t what you call two hands on the ball. And if you can’t see why Darnold is doing no favors to his guys on the ball to Freeman….I can’t help you. Sam just sucks. And our entire game plan was our coaching staff confirming that for you. and we got people blaming Joe Brady for Sam running dumb and getting smashed now too lol. That’s Sam. Sam always plays dumb.

Rookie Tremble isn’t Pro Bowl Greg Olsen. That would have been a crazy great catch if he pulled it off. Sam might of dropped it in by it was still to his outstretched fingers. Rookie Tremble isn’t HOF 89. Neither is Freeman. and the whole of it hits your hands then you should catch narrative is a repeated falsehood. It’s like Cam throwing a rocket 4 yards downfield. Cam needed touch on a lot of throws and too often had 1 speed. So those balls were on Cam just as much as anyone else.

That gameplan isn’t something you can use vs other teams. You would be punting the entire game vs other teams

All drops aren’t created equal. Several of those drops today just aren’t great balls. The pass to Freeman. The one to Tremble. A lot of his drops are asking a lot of the receiver. And those aren’t even receivers. Hell, Robby’s wasn’t even a drop. He got his soul knocked out of him for a minute.

That’s Sam running dumb more than anything getting blown up like that. Sam taking that shots running isn’t on Joe Brady. Basically no matter what you ask him to do….he doesn’t have the head of a QB.

that game plan today is only going to work against the worst of the worst though. gonna need a plan B going forward when better teams load up and take away our average run game

I think people put too much into whatever an announcer says. That’s just how DJ looks when runs and he doesn’t watch him every week. DJ visually never looks like he is going all out when he runs. ball was just floated in a manner the defender had time to come up and make the play IMO. defenders get paid to make plays too
