Person: Rhule could be next, but probably not this year
CRA replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
what makes you think Matt Rhule can fix a QB situation? His teams never have good QB play. -
Fields was showing some decent growth and moments before he got hurt. I mean, if Trevor Lawerence had the SD weapons and coaching staff......he probably would look a lot different right now. Jags have no talent and a bigger clown than Rhule running the show.
-
Cam got money coming out his ears. Cam came here to prove something to the world and himself. That he ain't done. The instablity here is going to make it hard for him ever to get up and running to prove that.
-
yeah, Cam comes back and goes on a crash course to try to learn a playbook and Brady's offense. 3 weeks later Brady is out the door. Cam now in no man's land playbook wise. Which you have to think is going to keep Cam not looking real great from a production standpoint in his "comeback". Which will give the haters the ammo they need. and Rhule couldn't even fire Brady last week so that they could maximinze the bye week with a new guy. No, that would have made too much sense.
-
That's the problem with what Rhule put together. None of it makes sense. Joe Brady is a super green OC. Joe Brady would have made sense with a veteran QB. A good one. That allows Joe Brady to grow in his role and develop. Joe Brady is a project. Joe Brady wasn't suppsoe to be good yet. Sean Payton wasn't a good playcaller 2 years into his OC career in the NFL. But pairing Joe Brady with Sam Darnold and a bad OL? Well, Matt Rhule got the predictable results. Everyone can't be a project. Yet, the QB, OL and OC all were projects.
-
I think Joe Brady will be fine. Someone will hire him that has the talent to throw the ball around. Which Carolina never did. It was never a pairing that made sense given how horrible our OL was, how bad our QBs were and how inexperienced Brady was.
-
I'm not absent. Panthers just didn't play this week. I'm fine firing Joe Brady. But I maintain my position, firing him means absolutely nothing. Matt Rhule is still the HC and Matt Rhule is easily the biggest problem in Carolina. Not Joe Brady. Joe Brady was what he was....an inexperienced pass centric OC. And we gave him horrific OLs and bad QBs. No one should be shocked he didn't wow. If you want a cloud of dust offense hire an OC that does that and then give him the talent to execute it. and now we get a Rhule guy to be OC. He isn't an OC. And he will be the polar opposite of Joe Brady.....and the results will be predictably bad too. and it highlights what a sinking ship we are running. We just brought Cam Newton in. He was already comically behind the 8 ball. This continues to not allow him to ever get up to speed to finish out the year.

college football/basketball will basically need a new divisions featuring the biggest schools where they can go against each other….with no salary cap. really should happen is they should just do away with the NFL eligibility requirements too.

Where you land is extremely important to how successful you will be in the NFL.

I immediately thought of this movie when I saw that clip I mean that is what folks like this are ultimately working towards. See if they can make a robot indistiguishable from a human...to a human. Doesn't seem like the best plan.

well, there is no way to actually make it fair once the money comes in IMO. not that it is fair now either though.
-
-
so they will hate him year 1.
-
Rhule almost 100% has an offset clause. He wouldn't get to collect two salaries. If a college hires him the Panthers wouldn't have to pay him. They would only have to pay the difference in the salaries if one existed.
-
It is mind boggling how many people don’t have anyone around them with even a tiny bit of common sense to be like……yeah, don’t do that. That’s insanely stupid. and I think day one of the Kelly era shows you exactly how this ride will predictably go.
-
and time consuming. When Matt Rhule's disaster season is over this year......he gets legit time off. College coaches if they want to be good don't get legit time off. You just go immediately to recruiting mode.

But it is a lot easier to solve the DB position than QB and OL. If you have a hole at DB? Well, we easily obtained a 2020 top 10 pick (long term) and we also easily obtained one of the literal top 3 DBs in the game (short term) right after we drafted Horn. Or you can dial up heat up front and add talent there to really aid the hole in secondary too. and a hole at QB is massively more impactful than a hole at CB

which is better. a - playoffs in 4 of 5 seasons b - back to back winning seasons but only making the playoffs 2 times in a 5 year window. I care about postseason play. Every season is different. I don’t give a poo what record it takes to get in. Just be relevant. Postseason play is the only thing that makes you relevant. most teams that hire a HC don’t get a run like Ron had. Or Fox had. Would I like better? Of course. I’d like to hit on a Tomlin. A Belichick. But Ron wasn’t actually bad. Just like Foxy wasn’t. They weren’t grand slams. and pointing out I would easily take another version of the Ron era with a better officiated SB isn’t blaming everything on the refs. It’s more an acknowledgment that luck and things outside your control go into a ring.
-
Belichick/ NE >>>>> Nagy/Bears The book isn’t written on Fields yet. He is literally in his rookie year with situation around him weighing him down. Just like with Trevor down in FL. Horn is a great pick. Positional value was never there given what our roster was. It’s the two things being true aspect.
-
Now this part I can really get down with, Brown was benched for not playing how they need him to play. Laregely IMO a motivation tool. Not because he is a DL version of our OL. Brown has crazy tools. Tools to be dominate. And the benching IMO was to really drive home he really needs to focus on the little things to actually maximze his talent. I don't know if he will live up to expectation or not, he is super young still and the trenches is a tough game. But his expecations and bar is high. So even if he doesn't hit it.....that alone won't make him bad. Given where he was drafted, the bar for him is dominance inside. Not just being pretty good IMO.
