Totally agree that Urban being a once in decade type shitshow that there are no words for has really aided Rhule. In a normal year, Rhule’s clown show would be being blasted all over the nation. Could probably throw Gruden and the pandemic in there too. So many things you just don’t see often are aiding Rhule and keeping his name out of people’s mouths. He has been a joke. And what a joke he became clear this past off-season. Probably a decent dude. But he is clearly in over his head. We don’t have the years to give him to learn all the on the job training he clearly needs at this level. Matt Rhule belongs in the Big East

Our holes are growing at the most important spots. QB, OL and coaching staff. Cupboards are more empty now than ever at these spots. In addition to that, we have sunk pointless money into the RB and WR spot under Rhule. Rhule made CMC the highest RB in the NFL. Horrible move for a “rebuilding team”. His Temple WR is paid more than Adams, Diggs and a host of actual #1 WRs. He traded away the bulk of our next draft class. That’s not how you build anything. arguing in favor of Rhule is just sunk cost fallacy or being a contrarian for the sake of it.

Lot of truth to it. Impossible for a coach standing on a sideline to have a clue about what actually happens in detail on any play. Especially in the trenches. There just isn’t visibility.

Goes back to Cam post game answer. Cam also made Rhule look bad there imo. Talked about how he wasn’t going to spout off irrational answers or something like that right after a game. That’s what Rhule did. Why he needs to watch the film.

Sam has been a starting QB for 4 straight seasons. Rhule is just an clown. Sam sucks. NY didn’t make Sam a bad QB. They drafted a bad QB who plays to this day like he did at USC

What do you mean IF Sam doesn’t pan out? That was already answered. But I suspect that is exactly what Rhule is hoping for. Rhule cooked up more poo and hopes we forgot how bad the prior poo was. Hopes to start Sam at the end. Maybe get a turnover free check down game and a close loss and try the injury angle. I’m cool losing out with Cam. I don’t need to see Sam. No desire to be forced to root for that.

That’s why I said hopefully Rhule doesn’t rob us of that Sunday. Because I fully believe he is going to start scapegoating harder and harder. And it won’t be his roommate playcaller. It will be players. I fully believe Rhule will make Cam looks worse in the end than if he never played this season. Hopefully he holds off on PJ and Sam a week. But I feel he ends up going to both of them as starters at the end of this season

As a long time Cam homer the reality is this Sunday very likely will be the last game Cam suits up for us at BOA. His farewell game. Yes, I know there are arguments he should be signed for another year. For a new HC to have for year to help break in a rookie. But if you are laying odds? Odds don’t favor him being brought back. Could happen but I wouldn’t put my money on it. And I don’t think Rhule ever wanted him to begin with. it is what it is. Hopefully Rhule doesn’t rob us of that. But now that Rhule’s roommate is OC…..he will be looking for new scapegoats that don’t involve playcalling. Hope we get Cam Sunday.

How do you bring back a coach who loses his last 7 games….technically wins less in year 2 (considering they added a game) who banked on Sam Darnold and it blew up predictably in his face.

I don’t know. We are one of the youngest teams in the NFL. Hard to have a fire sale with our roster. now we might let a lot of FAs walk. No Gilmore. No Reddick. No Cam. DJ maybe gone. not sure who would want CMC’s contract.

Matt Rhule’s college resume makes Dabo Sweeney look like the Bill Belichick of college football. And no sane person wants Dabo to come coach their pro team. Only problem bigger than Rhule is Tepper. But there is sadly nothing we can do to influence change at that position.

What did Rhule do at Baylor? Win the BIG12 even once? Beat anyone of note?

You actually have to do something to deserve a 3rd year. Rhule hasn’t done. You don’t just get 3….just because

I think it is a myth that it takes a long time to win in the NFL. The league overall is designed for parity. Rivera, Fox, Capers all took over bad teams (or nonexistent) and had winning ones fairly quick.

The team the Lions beat featured their starting QB. We played a backup. They beat the Vikings 2 weeks ago too. They are playing better of late than we are. I think we have a better roster. Lions are playing better.

They have won 2 of their last 3 games. Not sure we would line up and beat them next week. I’d rather be us big picture though.
