Yep. 2010 was a pointless draft. You weren’t drafting for the current coach and you weren’t drafting for the next coach (because he wasn’t hired and you didn’t know what he would want). which is basically what Tepper created again. 2022 is 2010.

Watson is rich. He can live whatever lifestyle he wants. Where he plays a 17 game season doesn’t prohibit that. Tons of guys don’t make their home in the city they play in. I think it is naive to act like if Flores was the HC in Carolina vs Rhule that it wouldn’t matter to him. again, Watson was even debating going to Cleveland

that's a different question though. Again, pick a random team. Washington. You put the worst starting QB in the NFL on that team vs an elite QB. Is there a signficant difference in outcomes for Washignton? Watson went the playoffs in BOTH in first 2 seasons as the full time starter. Missed his 3rd year. That's when the front office in Hou went loco. Think you are missing a lot there.

You put an elite QB on the majority of teams in the NFL and they make a run at the playoffs. You put a true bad QB on the majority of teams and they won't make it. You think the difference in a horrific QB like Sam and an elite like Watson is only a 3 win difference?

Ownership and a good GM should prohibit a lameduck HC from making desperate moves with a roster. If they don't we got bigger problems than Rhule

Guess it would depend on how the 7-10 season actually played out. If it played out how a Matt Rhule season generally has? Early wins. Teams sucking in the 2nd half of games and the 2nd half of the season? Pulling off 1 home win after September? Same trends for a 3rd straight season? Matt Rhule being Matt Rhule all season. You fire Matt Rhule. and I would hope the next HC would throw Baker, Sam and PJ all in the hypthetical dumpster. Draft a QB. Bring in a very experienced and past their prime QB to aid him the draft pick.

I wouldn't argue that. But I don't think that elevates him into a much better QB.
