Think he wanted to play for Flores. Now that doesn’t exist.
-
how is he being classy? Sam has had a bad career and really stunk last season. He just stealing money at this point being on our roster. I’d be classy too lol

well, we generally won more than 5 games a season back then too. -
I mean, Rhule does seem to vacation a lot. Do we really know what he is doing when he disppears from BOA? All I am saying is there is a SLIGHT chance he is some unaging time traveler responsible for everything horrible in the history of mankind.
-
Ownership and a good GM should prohibit a lameduck HC from making desperate moves with a roster. If they don't we got bigger problems than Rhule
-
Guess it would depend on how the 7-10 season actually played out. If it played out how a Matt Rhule season generally has? Early wins. Teams sucking in the 2nd half of games and the 2nd half of the season? Pulling off 1 home win after September? Same trends for a 3rd straight season? Matt Rhule being Matt Rhule all season. You fire Matt Rhule. and I would hope the next HC would throw Baker, Sam and PJ all in the hypthetical dumpster. Draft a QB. Bring in a very experienced and past their prime QB to aid him the draft pick.
-
well, if you got a better than average D, CMC (even for 10 games), DJ Moore and Watson.....and can't make the playoffs? Well, as I said, we have a Matt Rhule problem.
-
I wouldn't argue that. But I don't think that elevates him into a much better QB.
-
Yeah, good luck selling that narrative
-
Baker had a much better roster around him than Sam has had. Sam and Baker are the same dude. One is flashy.
-
Rhule was in the meeting. They probably promised him input in decisions. Which frankly is generic talk for any high value QB.
-
that sounds like a horrific idea. See last year. we do not need to keep trading away picks for bad QBs. There is no one to trade for. And all the non-answers will cost more than Sam.

will be Sam Darnold's 5th year coming up. We getting real close to that 7 year mark. Then it's big pimpin, spending cheese!! Jay Z time! -
Maybe. Time keeps changing too. Length of suspension probably will come down to whatever info makes the rounds hard on social media. Maybe something will upset people. Maybe it won't. Who knows. Just saying that exists. But as I said, best case scearnio is he looks to be a really poor decision maker in life. Whether it be personal or business. It is a risky move for a rebuilding team to gamble away all their draft captial on someone who doesn't do smart things. Dumb is generally a repeated behavior.
-
All depends. Who the QBs is and what the state of the Panthers are IMO. Right now we have weak coaching that is on the hotseat. One that was suppose to be building this team from the ground up. Change in coach next year only restarts that to a large degree. Doesn't sound like the best time to be trading away your draft captial for the next several years. I was willing to say fug it all and endorse the big gamble pre scandal. Because Watson is great. I mean, I know that just as much as anyone here. but I think there is just the reality you now have to factor in the future lawsuits and all that happened in regards to Watson. That makes a big gamble and even bigger one. Plus, regardless, I think we now have to simply question some aspects of Watson. Best case scearnio with his scandal is that Watson is a horrific decision maker in life. Not really the ideal quality you look for in such a massive investment. He also literally signed that massive deal with Hou and then demanded out. Again, Hou was Hou. Not like he signed that and something changed. Even if it were true he was 100% framed by women all those women...it has highlighted some caution flags about a massive investment in him. I think drafting a QB made the most sense for Carolina. And they probably should wait until after this draft and let our new HC do it. I pretty much have accepted the fact the Matt Rhule era will be a black hole in Carolina's history we will all wish never happened and just have to accept that.
-
yep, adding Watson is risky for so many reasons. Considering the cost. QBs left and right sign deals now and turn around and demand out. That trend will keep growing. Makes it harder and harder to give up 3 and 4 1st round picks for one....unless you are going to insert him into a Super Bowl ready roster for an immeidate run/window. Which we aren't that team.
-
Carolina is probably the Texans first choice. Because ripping off this front office via QB is easy. So we default into Watson's last choice I suspect. That if all else fails and Watson can't get what we wants. We are the last resort option he would then settle on.

Every teams pros and cons are different. Tepper making obvious HC moves increases our pros. Would give us pros the others don’t have. We can't replicate Atlantas pros for example. Pittsburgh doesn’t want him.
-
Flores was always one of the reported reasons he wanted to go to Miami. and Flores is a better coach than any of the HCs at the teams being discussed. Plus, it’s not just coaching ability. Call it culture. Environment. The type people you prefer to be around. We got Matt Rhule lol. Our sales pitch is literally just a paycheck. so yeah, if Tepper made some elementary decisions this off-season….we would be in a better position today to get Watson. We’d have a HC he liked that was also the best HC of all teams.
-
Imagine if our owner made two very simple moves. 1. He fired an incompetent HC that has been a disaster thus far. 2. Then hired the best overall HC candidate that was available in Brian Flores and imagine the difference in where we would be in trying to obtain Watson.

I thought about it. Leaning toward adding some Google instead. Same split coming with them.
