  1. Rhule is just a bad NFL football coach. Sorry that fact scrambles your brain. Are you Matt Rhule's cousin? Only one of us is emtionally invested in these coaches. and you don't actually even read these posts you are replying to that you use to project. I stated countless times Joe Brady should of never been hired by Matt Rhule lol. It made no sense. And Rhule has even confirmed it was essentially a PR move for excitment. But again, that speaks to what a bad HC Matt Rhule is. And Matt Rhule is the one employed here still. So the discussion is going to be Matt Rhule's bad job.
  2. Joe Brady is just a tool people use to deflect from how bad Matt Rhule has been in Carolina. Joe Brady sucked last year. I don't argue that. But there was going to be no other outcome. You have green passing OC.....and you supplied him with a bad OL, bad QB and a HC that doesn't want to pass lol. Which brings us back to Matt Rhule.
  3. Teddy B was also the simply the no brainer add given they hired Joe Brady (running a Saints variant O) and had to install an O when COVID hit. It just made sense. If you had to bring any vet QB in....Teddy was always to obvious add in that moment given what we were. Without Brady lobbying for it. It was easy to identify. And that worked. Signing Teddy to a two year deal wasn't a problem. They slightly overpaid him but you could almost justify that to get a functional base O up and running in such a weird window. We inititally were on the correct rebuild path. Sign Teddy. Get a base O up and functioning. Draft a QB. Drafted QB takes over in year two and you see what you got and move from there. But we got off the obvious path. And part of that was a completely green staff and they botched the early rebuild but it was intitally set up properly.
  4. I’m still not convinced about DJack and if he is that much improved. Think we just saw a lot of weak QB play early combined with a good pass rush. Which created a narrative that stuck all season even when it no longer applied. still think there is a massive gap between DJack and really good CBs like Gilmore. Think Heinike/McLaurin abusing DJack so badly was a reminder of that later in the year. think Jackson slightly improved but nowhere near the level that has been talked about
  5. he has a better vibe going on of late though lol
  6. Almost every QB drafted has the physical tools to play in the NFL. The tools can alter ceilings and make certain throws available or unavailable……but it pretty much comes down to what is between the ears. Winning presnap, coverage, timing, composure, manipulating the field, when to gamble and when you can’t. Yeah, you could give a box of rocks Mike Vicks tools and they could make something work. But outside of that it’s about the brain.
  7. one thing I like about Corral is you got to see him multiple times vs a team like Alabama.
  8. That’s not Rock Hill. I believe those are federal dollars that McMaster got for the interchange. So that is everyone on this boards tax dollar going to work lol https://www.postandcourier.com/politics/interchange-for-carolina-panthers-new-nfl-facility-in-sc-gets-federal-funding/article_e76cd920-b0ce-11ea-9a94-43247512a2e2.html
  9. I mean there is literally a post somewhere that claims Joe Brady is the one responsible for Sam Darnold being here. I’m not going go find where it is lol. Might be in another thread. Then I might of responded to yours. All I know Matt Rhule. No matter what degree Joe Brady sucks has no bearing on that
  10. Matt Rhule is the correct answer. and again, I got no problem with him firing Joe Brady. He shouldn't of hired him to start with. It was a PR move for hype. It was never going to work. Fire him. I don't care. I simply have a problem with using Brady as a scapegoat for all the problems. He had his. Fine with him owning his share. But when people start claiming he was making all the roster decisions, Sam is here because of Joe Brady lol, Joe Brady set and controlled the practice schedule for the team, etc? That's all belongs to Matt Rhule. Not Brady.
  11. I know this hard for you.... The fact the Carolina Panthers weren't devoting any time to the 2 minute drill, redzone, etc is on who?
  12. AND....the fact the Carolina Panthers weren't having real NFL practices is on?
  13. He does in his world. And it's well reported that has long been his approach. The Ravens aren't part of Matt Rhule's staff. and there is nothing wrong w/ a green NFL HC wanting to watch people that have been doing it along time and take it in. But the type staff Matt Rhule has today is the one he should of had day 1. That's on Tepper/Rhule for it not being that. So was the fact they weren't practicing and gameplanning like real NFL teams. That's also on Rhule/Tepper.
  14. Matt Rhule knows Teddy was right about Rhule not running real NFL practices. And it is in part is why Rhule let opposing coaches come into Charlotte and completely run our joint practices. In our house. Also allowed them to dicatate what he would and wouldn't do in the preseason.
  15. Sure he did. He spent a couple years with Teddy in New Orleans. Payton does it. Micromanger Matt Rhule is the HC. He dictates the practice schedule. Well, unless he is with another NFL team in a joint practice and Rhule cedes all control to them....because they know what they are doing and he doesn't.
  16. One Athletic source said he micromanages “everything that touches football” yeah, Joe Brady just out there doing whatever he wanted. First year OC on level given total control and the powerful man in the room. Micromanger HC Matt Rhule had nothing to do with how the Panthers went about practicing, right? The head coach doesn't have anything to do with that. Or who the QB is. First year OC Joe Brady was in control of everthing. They didn't practice enough redzone becaue Joe Brady insisted it was overrated. Not because Matt Rhule had spent years and years as a college HC where he didn't emphasize it in his practice schedule like the NFL does.
  17. I probably started up talking Joe Brady today when someone randomly started saying Joe Brady was responsible and the reason the Sam Darnold mistake happened. I mean, that's not true. But it's what people do when they are looking to cleanse the people still employed from their mistakes.
  18. I really don't give a fug about Joe Brady. But he was a scapegoat. That doesn't mean he didn't suck when he got fired. The only issue I got is how some choose to use Brady to deflect the failures of others. Joe Brady has his. But he shouldn't own all Matt Rhule's and this front offices. Which is the spin I am against.
  19. Joe Brady sucked ass with Sam Darnold in 2021. Most would though. But Matt Rhule sucking is a bigger issue than Joe Brady sucking.
  20. 2 years with the Saints, 1 with LSU. That was his coaching career before coming here. And his time at LSU was inserting the Saints passing concepts into the program. I mean, it's nothing like that.
  21. Matt Rhule isn't in hiding because people are mean to him. He is in hiding the Panthers have been a mess and Matt Rhule consistently has made himself and the Panther look bad when he talks about the mess. It's PR move. And frankly the right one if you are the Panthers. But it highlights some problems that it became the right move.
  22. Joe Brady came out of the New Orleans Saints. And he is running his version of the Saints O. Position coaches and coordinators hop all over the place while resume building. That's not abnormal. Dabo Sweeney is one of the top 2 coaches in college football right now and of this era. If not for Bama existing in the same window people would be talking about his historic success more. Dabo Sweeney would be an utter joke as a NFL coach. Proabably no bigger Dabo fan on the board than me though. Defending Joe Brady from being the Panthers scapegoat for all the mess in 2021 is far from worship. I believe Matt Rhule needs an OC more like a McAdoo. He always needed that. Him hiring Joe Brady never made sense. It was another obvious mistake. Like so many made. But they hired him.
  23. One Athletic source said he micromanages “everything that touches football”
  24. at some point Joe Brady turned into this univeral scapegoat. And I have defended him from that. There are literally people saying Joe Brady is 100% responsible for Sam Darnold being here and other nonsenical narratives lol. Getting NFL HC interviews only happens if you are catching the eye and ears of the league. I suspect they likely were wanting to feel him out for for down the road if he continued to impress and progress. To say he wasn't impressing is just denying the reality of the talk around him at the time. Whether you agreed with it or not isn't really relevant. It existed. Just or unjust. I think the 2021 Panthers were an utter trainwreck. One that really was not recognized properly. And Urban helped saved Matt Rhule and the Panthers from getting the light on them they would have without Urban. Because while Panthers were a seasonal shitshow, Urban was a once in a decade type debacle. Joe Brady would have been a hard sell to bring on as OC after Rhule let him go in 2021. No one was going to make a lateral move coming out of that mess. I suspect we will see Joe Brady again. But you probably will want to see him on a team geared and equipped toward the pass. All goes back to this FO and how poorly everthing was put together. Nothing made sense. Matt Rhule basically believes in winning like John Fox and Ron Rivera. Him hiring Joe Brady was more a PR move to look exciting. Which I think Rhule essentially has admitted to a degree. All comes back to Tepper/Rhule. When poo hits the fan you start with the people most reposnsible. That's not the NFL but that's how we should judge it IMO.
  25. if you say so. People sometimes are bad at jobs. You will meet them one day in your own life. It doesn’t make them bad people. It doesn’t mean you want bad things to happen to them. It also doesn’t always mean they shouldn’t work where you are. But you are going to need someone else in that job. To date, Matt Rhule sucks at his job. It is what it is. And there were indicators he was being over promoted and would fail before it happened (which is common in the real world too).
