  1. I'm not attempting to draw heat away from politicans. They need to get what they get. But I also feel like some are too dimissive of what Tepper's potential role might be in this mess. It takes two to tango. Tepper isn't just a billionaire. He is one of the richest men in America. A mega billionaire. It's guys like him that help create so many problems in this country. Tepper knew and knows what he is doing. But rightfully blasting politicans doesn't mean you need to defend Tepper in the process. He is the same type guy that our society needs to hold accountable IMO.
  2. I look at Sam Darnold and I look at PJ Walker....and if you didn't know how they arrived into the NFL and where strictly viewed as two dudes who play QB.....I'd say they are the same tier QB. Different pros and cons but same tier. and yeah, Ben is just saying what Rhule wants. And clearly they have already discussed Sam is the guy as of right now. My preference is simply they stop with the Sam BS. He isn't very good. And based on Rhule and even Sam himself in that van interview.....reality seems to be something that is missing at BOA. lol Sam saying he has proven he can be a very good QB. We have a HC and a QB who are utterly clueless. I got no problem with whacky confidence. For 3rd string to think he can be an All Pro. I'm cool with the mindset but not fake realities. Sam has sucked. He hasn't proven he can play at a high level. And this charade he should he is a default starter at this point? ....... is just old.
  3. I don't disagree with that. I think RH will look very bad in the end. Maybe the county and state too. I just don't think Tepper is in a position where he should automatically be excused from any fault at this moment. That's really my only stance here. The whole thing is too big of a mess for me to think it is all RH (given the county and state where allies to them). Tepper has gone dark too for some time. More so than anyone else. They generally have refused to answer legit questions too.
  4. I mean, the city manager and mayor were the ones making the claim. They would be the people you look to hear from on such. What better sources would you look for on the RH position? They made the claims when Tepper paused it and went dark. Things got quiet again until today. I would assume in the coming days, weeks, months we will here more from different people. Again, the hope a deal gets completed is going to prevent a lot of things from being said. It would sabotage things. And they probably were flirting with that during that window after the pause. Which I think was addressed publically too that it wasn't smart at the time to be doing such.
  5. that's my gut feeling. He saw a window to tank it and did. Why do you need a training camp facility out of state. Almost zero NFL teams travel for training camp. Carolina was always abnormal in doing that. Tepper probably hates coming to Charlotte enough as is. Why go to RH. A newb and bad owner made the initial deal too quick. The more he sat and watched time go by he realized it was dumb from a Carolina Panthers stand point. We went to Wofford because that was Jerry's place. No reason to be traveling for training camp. Players and coaches hate it. The org hates. Fans like it. Pending you live close by.
  6. I mean, he is in a bad spot and can only say and do so much But to be honest, I would like the Sam BS to end. I'd rather him say some BS about every spot will be competed for. Best man plays. I don't think Sam has earned default starter status at this point in the nightmare.
  7. Hard to be high on Darnold and then saying senslesss turnovers must end. I mean that is Sam's entire college and professional career. He is the posterchild. But Ben is just doing what he has to do. He stuck with Sam so what can you do.
  8. I mean, they could make sense. Bonds don't just appear out of thin air. You have to supply the needed info for them to be issued. I'm not looking to 100% defend RH. I think we all know they were over their skis from the jump. Tepper included knew that. I'm just not sure Tepper didn't add to the problem.
  9. RH officials said the Panthers in reality were holding up the bonds and then told them to not issue them as they (the Panthers) wanted to seek additional alternatives (which I assume was the county and state). Think that claim is pretty well documented. I linked it early in this thread. I'll try to find the exact quote from the County on the informal solution but paywalls make googling a little harder. I think it got it off twitter so I'll take a look there. The way he framed it wasn't that it was just an offer but that Teppers folks were brought in for it and it was agreed to as a solution. Just never formalized. Tepper then went dark after they worked it up together. Might not be true. But I think the RH taxpayers deserve to know about the bonds and the YC taxpayers deserve to know about that resolution. The details behind both.
  10. I suspect, the first time we see Rhule in front of our press will be when talking about draft picks. So all the focus and questions are on the new drafted players.
  11. Enough out there to know RH is going to bare some responsibility in they end for this. Not sure why you are so aggressive in Tepper being 100% cleared of any wrong. Safe bet in life is both won't look great. That's a pretty tame and boring position I am taking. As is the position that once it implodes we get a lot more info and insight than we have had.
  12. about to start.... has Matt Rhule faced the media since our season ended? The Sam Darnold TC Protection Act seems to be enforced for Rhule.
  13. Vehaun also says the Panthers were falling short on items they were supposed to provide so they city could issue those bonds. That apparently included project development plans. ”And that information isn’t something the city could provide on anyone’s behalf is that correct?” asks Gettys. ”That’s correct,” replies Vehaun. Despite these alleged setbacks, Vehaun says everyone was on the same page and the city was ready to issue the bonds. ”We were honestly two weeks away from issuing the debt when we found out that the Panthers asked us to stop,” he explains. ‘Our absolute and professional best’: City leaders speak out about $200M unpaid bonds in Panthers-Rock Hill facility dilemma (live5news.com) Then you have someone from York County Council said they brought in the Panthers and worked out a deal. But then Tepper went dark and wouldn't make it official. That's not fake news. That just me referencing what the news reported. I'd like to know more about that before I pity Tepper lol. Maybe he was 100% wronged. He hasn't earned that type of assumption IMO.
  14. Could be lying. But so could the people you are claiming are the absolute truth tellers. I'll still wait for more info to come out before I cry for David Tepper.
  15. lot of stuff is just one guy saying it though. from what I read the Panthers were brought in and agreed to the deal YC made with them. It wasn't just a proposal. Then had a change of heart. And never signed it. I'd like to know more about that before I give Tepper a total pass on this thing.
  16. Members of the Council. They said the Panthers were brought and a deal was agreed upon. Then the Panthers changed their minds on it and it never became formal.
  17. Well there is info York County came in and had a deal the Panthers agreed to and that the Panthers told RH not to issue bonds. That doesn’t sound consistent. RH is clearly going to be in the wrong. I’m not willing to make Tepper an innocent victim at this stage though.
  18. Huh? That’s not selective. That’s just life/people. when this blows up officially….we get more info. Because the hopes of completing it is gone from the equation. The safe bet is both sides look pretty bad in the end. That ain’t radical or bias. Some folks jumping way too quick on the it is ALL Rock Hill to blame and none to Tepper bandwagon. we still know very little. Later we will know more. It is what it is. Seems knowing more would put us in better position to take a stand on this topic.
  19. Tepper knowingly and intentionally entered this deal with a city that everyone knew could face some hiccups/issues in regards to the project. Was talked about before it ever started. and we don’t know the facts and talks yet between both parties. It’s silly to go all in on a side being right/wrong IMO right now. I suspect both will rightfully look bad in the end.
  20. Yeah, people keep acting like we have the facts. We haven’t because the hope of completing the project always existed and you can’t lay it all out there that being the case. The facts on both sides won’t really come out until there is no hope of salvaging it. Then it comes out. Which we look to be nearing.
  21. Reports were York County did. once this thing officially blows up we should start to get some clarification on some things and what actually went on. I don’t think the full truth of all the talks is on the table yet. It will be once there is officially no chance in it being saved
  22. "we are prepared to sit down with the City and other interested parties to discuss the significant challenges ahead" Tepper about to rob SC or just hold TC in Charlotte until further notice I bet. No reason TC can't be held in Charlotte. Only reason to have it elsewhere is for fans.
  23. true. I mean, in a sane org that move would signal an OT at #6. But this is a Matt Rhule lead team. He spent his top 10 pick last season on a CB. And while Horn is a fine player.....we also went out and signed the 2nd best DB in all the NFL and a top 10 draft pick from the year prior right after it. We had too many other glaring needs to use that top pick on a CB last season but Rhule is going to Rhule.
  24. he has been in a better situation. But bad situations aren't uncommon in the NFL. How good or bad your QB is has a lot to do with how your situation ultimately looks in the end too. Coaches have their stock go up and down because of the QB as well. but I wouldn't call Baker's rookie season an ideal scenario. He is just a more taletned QB than Sam Darnold by a margin it isn't really worth comparing them as players. And Baker still isn't good.
