  1. I really want a role play slot WR/returner. I think those are two spots we could/need to address. having Carrol just increases my want for that slot guy with his quick release. Quickness emphasis rather than pure speed and tough. They are chain movers. Some Renfrow, Welker type guy.
  2. That’s my forever pet peeve. PR is weird. You got the ice in your veins or you don’t. I wish we would actually draft someone that was returner. it’s the same almost every year predating this staff of trying to see if you can make someone who isn’t a returner into one. Think special teams ace in important enough for a late round pick. Just fielding them cleanly has long been an issue here.
  3. well the QB room does need to change when you draft a young QB. you need a Derek Anderson type. Someone who has seen the highs and lows and everything inbetween both on and off the field. You need more than a coaching staff IMO. Sam and PJ are just trying to make it. No real difference to Corral. They just been at it longer and we know the answers on them already.
  4. Yeah, he did. In another awkward presser that Rhule came out like a sad puppy dog. and it felt like Fitt read the room that Rhule is viewed as being thrown in the backseat and was trying to throw him a bone. I mean, clearly there has been a change in how things are here. And you probably could argue Tepper helped set Rhule up to fail by giving such a green HC too much power/responsibility at the start. Rhule needed to be paired with a stronger front office from the start.
  5. Grier married a NFL cheerleader while in college
  6. Go watch Corral vs Bama the last couple years. Bama is like a semi pro team. Grier isn’t a comp coming out of college
  7. And a lot of the reporting has been his teammates would run through a brick wall with him That’s what we lack. Real leadership and energy.
  8. RPO is part of the pro game now though. Nothing wrong with it. good teams are using the college concepts that their players used. And it doesn’t mean an early Cam Newton version of it is the only option or you then have to go all old school pro.
  9. How many NFL player got in a fight in high school? A crazy amount. And how many got in a fight with Wayne Gretzky’s son? One. That’s why we hear about that. I totally disregard that. Did he party early in college and not take football serious? Sounds like it. Is it well documented he changed that while in college? Yep. Hell, that’s the path of how many successful people? Is he the safest pick ever? Probably not. But that’s why he is a 3rd round pick.
  10. Nah, you don’t bring Cam in to mentor him on RPO. You would bring Cam in to teach him NFL work habits. Cam’s an all time worker. Leadership on the field from game day to practice. How to deal with the nonsense. We have no one for a young QB to learn from. Especially one that might like a little fun.
  11. I haven’t looked but you might could find a legit slot WR. A Renfrow type. They often are in these later rounds.
  12. Fitt has been breaking his back all day to remove Sam Darnold. He simply said the reality that Sam is essentially done. Then realized he said the quiet out loud. It’s about getting Corral on the field. That’s the goal. You aren’t supposed to say that though.
  13. Darnold isn’t going to hold out and he isn’t in position to force anything. Sam Darnold has been horrible for 4 consecutive years. Sam is stealing money at this point.
  14. I think Howell and Corral are about the same in terms of gambles. would have felt the same in general landing either. I like Corrals game a little bit more. Worry more about Corral having a little too much fun. But Charlotte is probably a good spot for him vs some other cities.
  15. Felt like Fitt even read the room and added a don’t forget about Rhule handout. Everyone we had Matt call Bill with what we wanted and he didn’t fold. Good job Matt. Matt can do things!
  16. Well, it could be that our GM is sick and tired of Sam Darnold IMO. Because Sam stinks and now he has control. But realized he still shouldn’t of said what he did. I mean he has been on a mission pretty clearly to unseat Sam as our QB option.
  17. Brady, Rodgers, Brees were all tops in the league in theirs 20s too. Same for Wilson who isn’t over 35. That’s was just a weird narrative that QBs somehow don’t get good until retirement age. Also doesn’t mention Watson who they just tried to trade the farm for. I don’t think Rhule wanted to draft a QB.
  18. Matt Rhule doesn’t look happy. Maybe he is just tired but there does seem to be something. Also, he said all the best QBs in the NFL are old. Over the age of 35. That it’s an older players position WTF? Rodgers and Brady were among the best before 35. They just happen to still be playing lol.
  19. I’m okay given it was a 3rd for a 3rd. 3rd round was good place to land any of those top QBs of this draft.
  20. Think if a trade happens into the 3rd it would be the Patriots or 49ers. Maybe the Jets if somehow Washington and Detroit pass on QBs.
  21. Got to think that area where the Lions and Washington go back to back is where a QB might go
  22. at least he has a sense of humor and is taking things too serious
  23. Technically not last. We have the 32nd pick in the 4th. There are comp picks after that.
