  1. I probably started up talking Joe Brady today when someone randomly started saying Joe Brady was responsible and the reason the Sam Darnold mistake happened. I mean, that's not true. But it's what people do when they are looking to cleanse the people still employed from their mistakes.
  2. I really don't give a fug about Joe Brady. But he was a scapegoat. That doesn't mean he didn't suck when he got fired. The only issue I got is how some choose to use Brady to deflect the failures of others. Joe Brady has his. But he shouldn't own all Matt Rhule's and this front offices. Which is the spin I am against.
  3. Joe Brady sucked ass with Sam Darnold in 2021. Most would though. But Matt Rhule sucking is a bigger issue than Joe Brady sucking.
  4. 2 years with the Saints, 1 with LSU. That was his coaching career before coming here. And his time at LSU was inserting the Saints passing concepts into the program. I mean, it's nothing like that.
  5. Matt Rhule isn't in hiding because people are mean to him. He is in hiding the Panthers have been a mess and Matt Rhule consistently has made himself and the Panther look bad when he talks about the mess. It's PR move. And frankly the right one if you are the Panthers. But it highlights some problems that it became the right move.
  6. Joe Brady came out of the New Orleans Saints. And he is running his version of the Saints O. Position coaches and coordinators hop all over the place while resume building. That's not abnormal. Dabo Sweeney is one of the top 2 coaches in college football right now and of this era. If not for Bama existing in the same window people would be talking about his historic success more. Dabo Sweeney would be an utter joke as a NFL coach. Proabably no bigger Dabo fan on the board than me though. Defending Joe Brady from being the Panthers scapegoat for all the mess in 2021 is far from worship. I believe Matt Rhule needs an OC more like a McAdoo. He always needed that. Him hiring Joe Brady never made sense. It was another obvious mistake. Like so many made. But they hired him.
  7. One Athletic source said he micromanages “everything that touches football”
  8. at some point Joe Brady turned into this univeral scapegoat. And I have defended him from that. There are literally people saying Joe Brady is 100% responsible for Sam Darnold being here and other nonsenical narratives lol. Getting NFL HC interviews only happens if you are catching the eye and ears of the league. I suspect they likely were wanting to feel him out for for down the road if he continued to impress and progress. To say he wasn't impressing is just denying the reality of the talk around him at the time. Whether you agreed with it or not isn't really relevant. It existed. Just or unjust. I think the 2021 Panthers were an utter trainwreck. One that really was not recognized properly. And Urban helped saved Matt Rhule and the Panthers from getting the light on them they would have without Urban. Because while Panthers were a seasonal shitshow, Urban was a once in a decade type debacle. Joe Brady would have been a hard sell to bring on as OC after Rhule let him go in 2021. No one was going to make a lateral move coming out of that mess. I suspect we will see Joe Brady again. But you probably will want to see him on a team geared and equipped toward the pass. All goes back to this FO and how poorly everthing was put together. Nothing made sense. Matt Rhule basically believes in winning like John Fox and Ron Rivera. Him hiring Joe Brady was more a PR move to look exciting. Which I think Rhule essentially has admitted to a degree. All comes back to Tepper/Rhule. When poo hits the fan you start with the people most reposnsible. That's not the NFL but that's how we should judge it IMO.
  9. if you say so. People sometimes are bad at jobs. You will meet them one day in your own life. It doesn’t make them bad people. It doesn’t mean you want bad things to happen to them. It also doesn’t always mean they shouldn’t work where you are. But you are going to need someone else in that job. To date, Matt Rhule sucks at his job. It is what it is. And there were indicators he was being over promoted and would fail before it happened (which is common in the real world too).
  10. Urban Meyer knows more about football than me too. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t easy to spot the fact he didn’t belong in the NFL. I’m just old enough I don’t like to see time wasted. Which is Matt Rhule in regards to the Panthers. you make it personal. I’d buy Matt Rhule a beer if I saw him and I probably wouldn’t even talk about football lol. It’s not that serious.
  11. yeah, calling it like is. College to NFL coaches rarely work. Matt Rhule had one of the weakest college resumes of any guy that has made the jump from college to pro. And it is playing out pretty predictably to date. Matt Rhule seem like a decent dude that should be coaching Western Carolina. Not the Carolina Panthers.
  12. Matt Rhule took a 60 million dollar gig and chose to be a public figure. Getting booed on the jumbotron is something he willingly signed up for.
  13. the bar we are looking to jump is better and more exciting than Sam Darnold. That's it. That is why we are excited. I don't crowd is thinking we got a Herbert at this point.
  14. Matt Rhule could of hired me for 2 dollars last season and I could of made him look better than he looked. Heck I would do it for free. It's a quick convo. He talks too much. He is the one painting the picture for us that he doesn't actually know what the heck he is doing. He is the one that goes on these nervous talking hyper speed rants. I could just show him some tape of John Fox. Look Matt, see how he doesn't say diddly. Now you try it. Reporter asks you about practice you don't go on a 15 minute ramble about how you hope to be a real NFL teams one day like the one you shared practice wtih, you don't brag about telling the opposing coach they could call all the shots and do whatever they wanted with your time, etc. You don't tell folks that you finally sat down with your project and damaged QB Sam Darnold for the first time at the midway mark of the season for the first time If Fox is too advanced we could start with some tape of Ron. A more long winded Fox. It is what it is. Missed opportunies. And keep it moving. Yeah, people will get annoyed with that too. They might think you are still an idiot that doesn't know up from down. But you don't paint the vivid picture because now there isn't much to debate on it.
  15. schedule is tough this year. I think odds are we will be better on O and worse on D. That seems reaosnable. But I'm not sure being a little better than last year will drastically show in the win column with the schedule.
  16. Sam Darnold IMO will be the starting QB until the boos reign down at BOA and force Rhule's hand. Everything suggests Rhule wanted to repeat the process and go the Baker route. Rhule just needs wins. I think he is going to stick with Sam behind center, a comical overload of CMC and playing to the D as long as humanly possible. The Corral path is a development one. And that isn't a path that does Matt Rhule a lot of favors this season.
  17. I think the reigns were taken from him. Not that he let up. IMO, the big Rhule issue is that the change is just from a GM/personel side of things. GM is now doing the job of the GM. But Rhule will still be doing the job of the coach. and Rhule doesn't seem to be a great leader of men at this level. His game management is problematic. Most important, his management of players and the roster is problematic. I do think having a staff of coaches that are frankly better overall NFL coaches than Rhule will solve some of the glaring Rhule issues. But Rhule is a long documented micromanger. That's a DNA thing. Which I think the Matt Rhule thumbprint is inevitable despite the better staff.
  18. Joe Brady was a green OC. Hiring Joe Brady meant he was going to need time develop. Part of the deal from the jump when you hire someone that has never been an OC much less a NFL one. I simply accept that. I’ve always called him green and I always pointed to his situational play calling as the key area he needed to develop and grow. I’ve also highlighted the fact he was a bad pairing for Matt Rhule. Brady is talented but a green OC like him needed a real NFL HC. We did this comical thing of everyone being green. Everyone. So we weren’t practicing like a NFL team should and devoting time to areas like we should. Because the entire org was from college and didn’t know what to do. But that’s not a Joe Brady issue in reality. That’s an organization issue. Everyone can’t be new and not know the NFL. So the fault there is above Brady. But Joe Brady had consistently impressed overall except for one scenario given what he was …..and that was when the worst QB in the NFL was thrown at him. and yes, people were praising our 2020 offense. We were overachieving at the time given what we were. We should of been horrible. That was the expectation. We were in every game that year except for the ones against the eventual SB champs.….and frankly shouldn’t of been. And it’s why Brady got HC interviews.
  19. Rhule got to where he is today by being Rhule. I’m pretty sure he thinks the brand and what does works. I don’t expect him to change because that’s not what you see happen. Riverboat Ron was always just Ron. He just had a funny nickname. this wishful Rhule thinking is like wishful Sam thinking. Or wishful Teddy thinking the year before. We know who people are. We just don’t want it to be so. *but it’s a good thing the power structure appears to be changing and our GM is now in charge. That’s the way it should be. Rhule might of had more success if things were structured better at the start.
  20. that first round pick for Hollywood trade becomes a lot clearer
  21. Think it’s how you choose to interpret that. I ask my boss what she wants to do. I do it because she has the final call on what we do on big things. Not me. I give her info. Tell her what I want and think. Then it rests with her. What does she want to do. it’s just hard to walk away from all that coverage of the draft IMO and not think Fitt has control of the roster at this stage. Completely different tone vs prior years. Rhule’s behavior. Fitt’s behavior. Behavior of the local reporters who have a feel for what is going on. Which is how it should be. Why would anyone want a green college HC to be running things? Having roster control and all that. I don’t disagree with some growth going on. Tepper. Fitt. Probably Rhule. But I think the growth has put Rhule in more of a position that he should of always been in. Which is less power and control.
  22. I would say in 2022 the GM is clearly running the football side of things. Debatable who had final say the previous years and was running it.
  23. Just a guy that has seen a lot of poo coaching over the years and can spot it as a result
  24. well, I guess we will see how strong the Sam Darnold effect is. the last guy was getting HC interviews and everyone on his offense was having career production after one year. And that was coming off historic collegiate offense. then came Sam. Who was the worst starting QB in the NFL. So if McAdoo sucks with Sam? Then Joe Brady was just a super talented yet green OC that Rhule threw under the bus because of his nightmare QB.
